Thank you!! I thought I was being unreasonable, but Larry has had some bad takes when it comes to Purdy. I don't think a single QB would've performed well with the team we had. The fact Mahomes has a worse QBR than Purdy despite having a slightly better supporting cast proves that point.
The narrative that is, Purdy gets paid the big bucks. The 49ers aren’t being able to get any other players is because all Shanahan does is get free agents and veterans that cost money. If Kyle drafted good, he would have a bunch of rookie contracts around him like the Rams do.Then you can surround them with talent, but we know that the Niners don’t draft well sorry.
Oddly, after Pearsall, Guerendo, Green, Mustapha, Cowings, and Puni along with five more picks in the first four rounds this year, draft 20% of the team will be rookies or one year vets. I am not worried about the aging. The Niners will actually have a good team next season with a mix of vets and youth.
Heh they literally drafted kittle Warner etc etc they are one of the best organizations at developing players but sometimes players just don’t work out like with lance

I truly believe that Brock had an amazing season given everything that was NOT around him! He was able to do things that Kyle wanted and the team needed and was producing at a very high level despite all the things that were put against him. If he was smart he would get a nice pay however do something where a lot of it can be put on the back end so he gets a very great team around him with a lot of potential so over the next 3 to 4 years they build something great and get to the super bowl and win it this time!!!!
Build? Retool. The Niners are going to the playoffs next season. This was just a perfect storm of things going wrong and very good experience for Purdy.
Typical BS... All the so called experts like Krueger looking down on Purdy. A crappy OL, crappy receivers most of the time and not a good defense at all. But it's all Purdy's fault.
I like Brock Purdy. My only concern is he seems to be getting worse at executing in the second half, but that might be fixed with a better o-line if we're being honest.
I’ll bet you they put the right pieces around him again Brock Purdy next year, if you have a top 5 defense You going back to the Super Bowl. I have no doubt San Francisco 49ers already have a quarterback In the future Hall of Fame!
@@michaelyorlecm5881 Purdy put the team in position to win more often than not. Missed FGs dropped passes. It all adds up over the course of a season. Joe Burrow isn't going to the playoffs so do you put that all on him?
With the way the injuries and turmoil played out for the Niners this season, just ask yourself how many QBs would have been able to stay strong, rally up the troops and lead the team to six wins or more other than Brock? Let me answer that for you, only three, Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, and Lamar Jackson. That alone tells you everything you need to know about where Brock ranks in this league. It's a no-brainer, the kid can play.
To the argument that paying Purdy will forestall getting other premium players - however , for the last 3 years he has been paid less than a million but that did not help the team from getting a good defense and OL etc
Will the idiots stop talking about Brock’s weak arm? Kenny Stabler, Montana and Tarkington didn’t have strong arms …. And their argument was again what?
If you look at how Jordan Love fared and scanned all of the social media commentary after his playoff game vs the Eagles, you'd think he's not going anywhere with his career. Same thing with Justin Herbert of the Chargers. He threw 4ints and a pick 6 in the playoffswhen otherwise in the regular season, threw only 3ints the whole season. He was getting commentary about if he threw checkdowns all the time, he's a "system QB". Then he tries insane throws and throws a couple of picks trying to take a chance and he gets roasted for turning the ball over. Can't have both. its also asinine saying Purdy regressed and then saying the whole team also regressed. Any QB will not be great without a solid team around him. With that said, you need people in the trenches to help the team get better. Especially when the game today revolves around a franchise QB.
Did Brock regress? His stats did. In 2023 everything seemed to go right on offense. This year everything seemed to go wrong, being #7 in QBR in those circumstances is pretty good in my mind
The biggest problem is Shanahan, not Purdy. And I don't like how you cherry picked QBR when he's lower in rating, completion percentage, yards and TDs.
Brock needs the running game, playaction, bootleg game. Shanahan wanted to prove otherwise. It was true for Elway. True for Purdy. We can score 40-50 points if we stick to the plan. Plus use all your weapons. Isaac G, CMC and Deebo in the backfield all at once. Then motion. Juice at TE2.
Kyle needs to let Purdy cook and call audibles at the line of scrimmage! But Shanahan is too much of a control freak! That's his problem and why he can't get over the next step!
Purdy is ranked #14 in the NFL for QB rankings. As fans most could care less how much they pay him as long we can improve the team around him and we do not end up with another crap season. And let's be honest in the second half of games his stats are not good.
Hi9s stats are not good because the HC is not good. Remember, it was Purdy that gave him his first come back win EVER when trailing by more than 8 points. Just watch almost every game where Purdy throws a late int. They are almost always on the same exact play, over the middle.
@@byronsmith3152 Exactly. Against the Lions, Kyle called the same play that was picked off twice. The first was an overthrow. The second, the safety just waited for it. It was almost like Kyle was treating the game like a scrimmage.
@@greglyon1402 Yeah that first pick was all on Purdy for sure. I do not understand why Kyle does not have plays ready that go against his normal tendencies when the Niners trail. Even in the playoffs last year, it was Purdy going off script in order to make things happen.
I don’t think it’s Purdy‘s instinct to shoulder all the offense for the 49ers… If you look at the first seven games, all the offensive plays were either runs or bombs… It wasn’t till the last two or three games of the season where Shanahan decided we can run plays for 10 yard games
They're going to pay Brock to quarterback the rebuild while getting better through the draft. 2-3 years to replenish the roster, so don't expect to be a Super Bowl contender until 2027/2028.
Not a rebuild. Retool. First, everything that could go wrong went wrong this past season. It happens. Second, the Niners have a very easy schedule next season. Third, they have five picks in the first four rounds of this years draft to add to the six they added this past draft - Pearsall, Mustapha, Puni, Green, Guerendo, and Cowings. Fourth, add in a healthy Aiyuk, Williams, CMC and they have a very good team.
Yeah because the 300 yards and 4 tds before that never happened. SMDH. He doesn't play defense nor kick fg's but hey, you must think you can do it in Madden so he can do it for real.
@@Leeski916 Actually they were fine. The issue was that Kyle didn't trust Mason to catch passes for whatever reason. That changed the red zone play calling drastically.
It's all Shanahans fault...he did the same thing with Jimmy. 1st year it was a run heavy offense, all short passes... then Kyle tries to get cute and design all deep pass plays and it doesn't work. Brock is only going to do what Kyle says....can't blame brock

Purdy is okay and will do the job. But stop looking for stats that make him out as the Leo Messi of the NFL; it's all getting rather tedious and fanboyish now.
Listen Brock will get a 5 or a 6 year deal, the cap hit for the first 3 years will be in the 35 to 40 mil range and after that period they can restructure or send him packing. It will look like 58 to 60 mil a year, but that is not what it will be.
@michaelyorlecm5881 you say that like it happened every game! It didn't. Fourth string running backs. Third string receivers. No O line. A kicker who couldn't kick. Some of the worst special teams I've ever seen. And a defense that couldn't stop any body WHEN IT MATTERED. Did he throw some bad picks? Yes. But every qb does. Especially when you're forced to press because the rest of your team sucks.
Except when you need to throw a 50+ yd pass. Purdy constantly under throws receivers that would be TDs. He does not have a strong arm, it is what you are paying for.
@Travis8126 and strong arm QBs are constantly missing those passes long and short. Games are not consistently won on those throws. Look at the chiefs this year. They've hit like 5 of them maybe, they are winning on the short stuff and staying on the field
Only for the sake of your argument is arm strength an overrated measurement. In a league full of fast defenders, arm strength is a force multiplier. There's no defense for arm strength, it beats zone and man defenses. It's like power in boxing, a fighter can be losing a fight on the scorecard in the last round and score a knockout.
I love Brock and I hope we pay him (not 60 mil) but come on we all witnessed his arm strength decline this year ya stats my tell a story but our EYES told another he missed and under threw a lot of targets this year that could have been TDs if he can rest his arm and get his arm strength up a little he's gonna be fine.
Awwwe the glazing by these two 🤦🏻, I like Brock and hope something is worked out, but just because Brock’s QBR is one slot better than Mahomes, does not make him a better QB than Mahomes !!!!!!!!!!!! The fans are paying so much for tickets, why not remember this. Injuries, prone, and consistant pennalities, need better conditioning programs and firm discipline about not hurting us in games.
No QB ever has carried the load of a team to win a Super Bowl. So stop that nonsense Krueg. It’s a team sport. And no, Purdy did not regress. In fact I think he did pretty good with all things considered. But of course you never watch the tape either 🤷🏻♂️
Krueger has some shitty takes.
Thank you!! I thought I was being unreasonable, but Larry has had some bad takes when it comes to Purdy. I don't think a single QB would've performed well with the team we had. The fact Mahomes has a worse QBR than Purdy despite having a slightly better supporting cast proves that point.
You’re right he didn’t regress he was never that good to begin with
@@newerax1009Slightly better???? Chiefs defense is a lot better this year. More talent to throw too and a MUCH better o line and better coach
@@johnmondragon8805He led the nfl in almost every qb stat last year behind a terrible o line... sad trolling attempt 😂
Actually they do draft well, but only in the later rounds.
Larry's take on brock makes my head hurt
If they pay him, we as fans have to bother people like Larry (people with access to the teams) to ask loud, poignant questions about the offensive line. It hasn't been good enough, and it makes no sense to keep avoiding investments in it.
6:30 Philadelphia has a great offensive line. The 49ers have had a bad offensive line. So, I wonder about comparing the two teams. A QB in Philadelphia will have real advantages over most qbs. 0-/
d_0ip
Exactly! Thank you
I truly believe that Brock had an amazing season given everything that was NOT around him!
6-11 is a great season 😂
He was literally the worst QB in the league when trailing in the second half. I don’t think you guys realize just how bad that it is.
Build?
Not drafting Rodgers is a trauma that will haunt this fan base for far too long. The obsession with our QBs is just going to be part of our DNA.
Purdy had the worst O-line of the top 10 QBs, and his center was ranked worse than other teams backup centers.
I’ll bet you they put the right pieces around him again Brock Purdy next year, if you have a top 5 defense You going back to the Super Bowl. I have no doubt San Francisco 49ers already have a quarterback In the future Hall of Fame!
Brother he had weapons. He needs to fix the the costly interceptions late in games
Brock Purdy is an "If" QB. If he had this, if he had that. If Purdy was clutch late in games this season, the 9ers would be in the playoffs.
@@michaelyorlecm5881 Purdy put the team in position to win more often than not. Missed FGs dropped passes. It all adds up over the course of a season. Joe Burrow isn't going to the playoffs so do you put that all on him?
@@Eduardo-y6n9dbrother, what weapons are you talking about? Either you're trolling or have no idea what you're talking about
@@michaelyorlecm5881every single QB is an "if" QB 😂 that includes QBs like Tom Brady and Manning
Whether Purdy gets paid or not the Niners still have to hit on the draft.
Brock with say Minnesota's O-line, their defense and receivers...is far better than Sam Darnold. And I like Darnold.
He couldn’t make them throws that Darnold can make to Jefferson
I think they should Franchise him, let his play continue to ball and pay him.
Could cost you more if they do that.
Shanahan needs to learn how to Dominate 4th Quarters in every game!
He runs a scheme offense when the scheme doesn’t work you need talent and that’s something the 9ers don’t have
@Leeski916
49ers ranked as one of the Top Teams in the NFL for Talent! 🤔
No one is more capable of sounding knowledgeable and then suddenly totally stupid than Larry. Jalen Hurts? Stupidest comparison I’ve ever heard.
If I was Brock I’d negotiate for a low annual number and a high guaranteed number
Damon’s quite right!!
Kyle needs to let Purdy cook and call audibles at the line of scrimmage! But Shanahan is too much of a control freak! That's his problem and why he can't get over the next step!
Agreed! 🎉🎉
Sorry Larry I have to quit watching your negative shows too damm negative nothing positive 😅
Idk what season yall was watching but i remember him throwing int in the second half and 4th quarter choking
As soon as that CMC cheat code was gone the team came back to reality
Yeah because the 300 yards and 4 tds before that never happened. SMDH. He doesn't play defense nor kick fg's but hey, you must think you can do it in Madden so he can do it for real.
@@Leeski916 Actually they were fine. The issue was that Kyle didn't trust Mason to catch passes for whatever reason. That changed the red zone play calling drastically.
The most recent thing that happened is the only thing that happened *rolls eyes*
@ that’s because rb don’t catch the ball CMC Barkley Kamera are special there’s a reason why
The question I have for those two guys is would they pay Brock 60 million a year
I think it will be in the $45 to 50 mil range.
None of these QBs are winning Super Bowls by themselves.
It's all Shanahans fault...he did the same thing with Jimmy. 1st year it was a run heavy offense, all short passes... then Kyle tries to get cute and design all deep pass plays and it doesn't work. Brock is only going to do what Kyle says....can't blame brock
Amen
For the love of God ... WU management!! They miffed on BB. But Chucky is still available. He is a proven winner. No 'almost won' bs. How many more 'close, but not enough' games do we need with KS? The team needs better leadership with some fire. Not more 'calm demeanor'. Lynch has fire. But not Kyle.
Think about it... when was the last time you saw Kyle give a passionate energized speech like Dan Campbell or other good coaches do? It's always the same mediocre subtle blame passing. Not owning up to his own mistakes. WTH is that ?
Do something bold and make the change DeBartolo!! Gruden will take it to that next level. Make him an offer he won't refuse.
WU before the window shuts! We long time fans deserve better. Do something.. NOW!!!! ✊
Purdy is getting so much flak I think because of the rumors of how he’s asking for 50-60 mil/year and having a losing season this year.
LOL....yeah, he was great👌
You're making these Dak Prescott arguments
Yeah Dak didn’t have a all star cast like Purdy did so stop putting Dak in it because he probably would’ve won a Super Bowl last year if he was in Purdy position on the niners
I miss Gruden, lol.
You all can shove all them stats. They don’t mean shyt. Mahomes wins titles Purdy doesn’t. Shanahan needs to go too.
Before year 3 Purdy will only be about 10% of the cap.
If he misses the playoffs next year he won’t be in the league
Your hilarious funny Krueg you really think Brock Purdy be taking chances being aggressive 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Actually Purdy was more aggressive than most QBs this season. Had the highest completion percentage of any QB on throws more than 20 yards.

Arm strength is the most overrated qb measure there is
Except when you need to throw a 50+ yd pass.
Kenny Stabler didn’t have a strong arm ….? And your argument was?
Know 1 thinks they shouldn't play Purdy just not at 50 to 60 million. He can't throw deep and stay hurt
Purdy lead the league in completion percentage on passes over 20 yards.
Gee, Einstein! Kenny Stabler, Montana nor Tarkington had strong arms …. And your argument was what again, Sally?
Hahahahaaa.. elite backup couldn't be carried...HAHAHAHAAA
Decline? This season the Niners were developing down field connections. It will pay off next season.
Stahp it
