I love and frequent this stall. The uncle cooks the oyster omelette and aunty cooks the CKT. They are always consistent, any day anytime. This is my favourite CKT stall I’ve ever tried in SG. Hope this gets the top spot at the end of the series.
So the next series is born: best oyster omelette in SG.
Yes, please!!! I love oyster omelette 😍😍
Best oyster omelette- Geylang next to to the famous frog leg porridge
Went there today n the oyster omelette smacked rly hard! Every bite had charred crispy bits and the oysters so plump n fresh
Excellent review!!! Keep it coming! Be bold and try any hidden gems! Lol!
Yes, this is somewhere i frequent too for CKT and oyster omelette. It's quite hard to find good ones that can beat this benchmark in sg.
Damn. He found it. The queue is long enough as is liao...
Good job. Looking forward for more!
so happy you included the fried oyster
Looks like top 3 confirmed😮
I should go try the oyster omelette when I am nearby
2 signature dishes. really a gem in hougang
This is one of the best oyster omelette place.didn’t know they serve a mean ckt too!
Remember to try Hai Kee Teochew Cha Kuay Teow at Telok Blangah too!
Lai Heng at Shunfu Market. It’s so good and so insanely value, cheapest plate going at $3. Can even get an Otah to go with it
Wow! Hello finalist! 🎉😊
Lai Heng Fried Kuay Teow (Shunfu Mart) Imho my #1! Try it!
i went this place few times. oyster omelette is superb. But CKT im surprised its not 1 plate. CKT no wokhei still get 3 plates?
I like the oyster omelette and CKT there but the CKT can be inconsistent when they are busy.
Oh no! You've unlocked the secret hideout! haha. To be honest, I'm kinda curious about the eggs they use, cause the color of the shells are lightly colored compared to the common ones you see at supermarkets.
This stall is good I must agree with you.
Swee lah 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 gatecrashed the gatekeepers 👍🏻 give u a like
sian.. now the queue going to get longer. this stall is my all time favourite in hougang
Used to eat when it was $2.50 for one plate until now the price inflation, but still taste as good even after 12 years of eating it, can’t get sick of it but avoid heavy crowd hours to avoid disappointment as they tend to cook faster making the taste drop by abit
agree, i've ordered it before at peak hour ~6.30pm and it was quite meh but later ordered it again ~8pm and it was great.
Visited today and ate the fried kway teow and oyster omelette. Worth the travel. Love it so much that tabao one each home for late supper. Thanks much for the recommendation. Lifted my spirits.
glad you liked it! hope it wasn't too oily.
I luv this stall. Aim for off-peak times.
Please try the CKT at Shunfu Market
The adam road food court one is pretty legit
I used to stay across and had both dishes at least once a month... There's always a queue but i didn't know it's that famous😝😝😝 not far from here is Armenian Street CKT... Sengkang best CKT
Can review Hai Yan Fried Kway Teow Mee? Only open thursday to sunday
I cannot wait to go and live and singapore to taste and eat all the delicious food you have to offer.
Been eating since I was young. From defu lane until hougang 🤣. Shiok! ❤
Can you do one for oyster omelette?!
Would love to know your thoughts on the Char Kway Teow at Amoy Street Food Center #01-01
may not be comparable. you may want to try ckt at gurney drive at northshore plaza II at punggol.
Best oyster omelette in SG. Period.
The first bite always slaps
Would you mind doing a cai tao kuey series, please.
Some char kway tiao with a slight twist: Hai Yan CKT @ 36 Telok Blangah Rise - option to add sunny side up and no ham. Heng Huat CKT @ pasir panjang food centre - option to add greens to CKT, but potentially be non operational.
best oyster omelette foreshadowing
Can do Bak Chor Mee in your next series?
carrot cake series next!
My dad always dapao this back home for supper😂
can you do lor mee next! 😂
Once again I'm asking you, Guan Kee Fried Kway Teow at Ghim Moh😢
Try blk 303 anchorvale
Does the stall not serve the cockles with the dish? There was no mention on the quantity, doneness nor size of the cockles (if any). What other ingredients are hidden in the dish?
I don't think there were cockles. maybe super tiny ones, I can't remember.
hey, name of the stall in the video description is incorrect
thanks for letting me know!
Wet version is always the way to go for char kway teow. Who actually goes for the dry dry type?
Joo Chiat Place CKT is must try
I think this place is great as well
my ex lived near there and i use to go eat. but ever since we break up during covid i never visit it.
Does any good ckt open late at night ?
none that I have come across. lao fu zi @ old airport road opens till 10pm but they're pretty average.
謝謝!
thank you again!
I have to ask for the Orh Luak… so they have fish sauce on the side?
it's some kind of sour chilli, I'm not sure if they added fish sauce in.
@@Alderic. oh usually the fish sauce is on the side. I hardly see Orh luak sellers do this anymore
I usually don’t like wet version of CKT, after seeing this video must give it a try la 😎
It was not good at all man
So u were there on 25/8? That was u taking Bus 88 around 415pm after that meal
yes haha you even got the date and time down!
I was at upper deck of that same bus you took. I stay just across that CKT stall!😂
Oh boy Alderic. Look what you’ve done. The lunch queue is up to the car park today 😂
no way. can dm me a pic on ig? 😂
Does this make you want to move to Hougang?
no gang like hou gang.
Alderic, thank you for this hidden gem. I'll cheong this one. ❤
Now try Cockle Fried Kway Teow 鲜蛤炒粿條
Try block 309 hougang
Noooooo! You found this place. Might i mention that the aunty and uncle are very friendly despite being so busy.
What is the best day/time to avoid/reduce queueing please?
@@LLYY106 Closed on Mon, and Tues. Best time, 2-4pm.
💜👍💜👍💜👍
The aunty said nah i'd cook
The missing ingredient is pork lard. That's why I prefer the amk one better.
i live in hougang and i didnt even know there is a kopitiam there wts
I thought my GPS brought me to the wrong place at first.
Whats the address please?
it's in the video description!
Wait u reviewed the CKT but missed out on THE Fried Oyster????!!! They served one of the biggest oysters in the dish. Some stalls got this raw aftertaste which I hated, but this stall is AMAZING, no raw aftertaste. This stall is a GEM (Self-proclaimed Michelin taste-bud approved)
ummmmmm
I love CKT, I love hokkien mee, I also love Alderic's dedication to finding the best rendition of SG best food.
But haters of coriander unite please. Frying the 臭菜 with the dish gives us peasents no chance of removing that repulsive taste!
There isn’t any gatekeepers but this stall is famous for the oyster omelette and not fried kway teow
Problem is they old liao some time close sometime open
They usually would post on their FB. Otherwise, they are open until sold out.
yeah it's quite common for hawkers, it's a tedious trade.
Went today at 6.20pm, and they were closed/washing up.
Must be aldric's fault
nah maybe they had something on for the evening.
The stall might be closing down in the near future ☹☹
Why.. what happened?
@@charliechan8541 owner couple is very old
legit?
The kway teow dish looked more like egg noodle dish i hardly see any kway teow.
fair criticism, I should have included this in the miss.
Unless you have tried all the CKT stalls in Singapore, how can you say that this stall is the best. Are you being a bit presumptuous? Perhaps this is the best you have tasted so far, but you can't say it's the best. 😂
He's going around Singapore to try different stores.. check out his other series too!
Looks like char mee more than char kaoy teow tbh 😂
That's not kwayteow, it's mien.
Tried it before just soso
This is not how chaw kway teo should be. It’s too sweet and lacks any wok hei. Hardly close to being good.
Careful of high cholesterol.
Tried the Fried Kway Teow and Fried Oyster this week only to my disappointment! There was a queue of 8 when I was there, the kway teow was fried in batches of 2 to 3 plates and the fried oyster was fried in 2. No 'wok hei' and the fried kway teow's sauce was cloying, jelak! Fried Oyster didn't fare better! Not enough starch to crisp the dish.... The rave reviews brought constant queues and the uncle and aunty tried speeding up and didn't allow enough sufficient cooking times....
The disadvantage of advertising a stall
I just went to try this. Long queue, waited for about 20 to 25 minutes. Maybe it became busy after your video. My experience, sorry to say, horrible. Way too oily, chili not fried thoroughly and each bite I took I can only taste the chili paste. There is no CKT taste to it at all, don’t say wok hey. Felt sick after eating cos too oily. However, looking at all the positive comments, think though, the chef was not able to handle the crowd, so end up anyhow cook and fry. So next time if I really want to give it another chance, I will go when there its not crowded. But as of now, too sick to think of trying it again.
sorry to hear that. it's definitely on the greasier side. maybe give other ckts a try or go for oyster omelette instead (:
0:11 bruh

I’m a huge fan of the channel but this is a HUGE disappointment after realising it to be a phenomenal from Alderic. 😢 I came here 1-2 years back and it was OK but their oyster omelette is truly one of the best. Today I came back bringing others to try out the ‘gate-keep’ char kway tiao and turns out after braving the 30mins+ Q, it was oily, uneven frying and even tasteless. Only the oyster omelette remains the same standard. Maybe it was the lunch crowd but… This was so not ‘3 char kway tiao’ standard 😭
I'm sorry to hear that :( well at least the oyster omelette still kept up their standard!
With the coriander its a -10/10. Where my no coriander gang at.
guessing this is number 1 CKT
