The great bombard's model bugged when you entered imperial age so maybe there was a model update at that moment. The health of the early great bombard was also 210 but the imp one was 260. I wish you checked if the early one got upgraded on age up or if it stayed early. Edit: It was verified to auto upgrade its stats near the end of the video, but no model change.
Not related to the bombard but if you are an ottoman enjoyer the horsearcher is bugged because the Mehter vizier point does not give it the speed increase when put in the same unit formation ... the speed increase works on everyone else. I was trying to see the raiding potential of a fire arrow wielding fast moving (should have 2.01 tile/s speed) fast hitting ranged cavalry but unfortunately couldn't fully experience this!
Also why so excited about the Ottoman fast vil production if it gives you 13s vils when you can only get to it in late castle-imp when you can get 10s vils from the Mali imp landmark with faster production speed festival? It costs 300 gold but you don't have to make tons of units to get it you rush imp with Mali and drop 3 TCs with their new TC cost should feel very natural then do the production festival and scale as hard as HRE with swabia

AoM is obviously getting lots of love at the moment ( deserved) but I think AoE4 is uniquely placed to be the best 2v2 and 3v3 rts, plus others are just remasters and definitive editions.

This seems like a massive nerf to MaA. So many new counters to melee infantry (especially siege), handcannoneers are even more effective vs. melee and better at kiting, archers can chip them down from very far away, and Elite Army Tactics is much worse than it was before (higher health would help them tank more ranged damage and close the distance, but this increase in melee armor doesn’t help them at all in that respect). Landschneckt seem like they would really suck now also. Sad, I really liked how AoE4 was different (and better designed imo) than AoE2 in how melee infantry and MaA especially were actually a valuable unit into the late game and civs could legitimately build their strategies around melee infantry. This is a massive nerf to HRE, OOTD, and Japan. Late game AoE4 will just look like AoE2 now - massive archer balls, cavalry, and siege spam.

for the grenadiers and light ranged infantry tag it's worth noting archers now do bonus damage to that tag. it's hidden under the jannisary change--both will be soft countered by archers i think
Ottoman's extensive fortifications is like budget Red Palace upgrade. The difference is its also applied to towers and red palace does not. And on 2nd tier vizier. That's nuts for defenses

3 vills per minute equals 12. Witht his tech you get 24 vills in 4 minutes per tc. Crazy good for small feudal agression into 2tc with this tech. Oh boy oh boy. Ottomans gets so multifunctional with this patch. Looks great!

Huh, I have been locked in on AoM and literally just had a AoE4 code land in my lap. It just finished and it's the firs i've seen of the game since 2022. This is exciting.
As a ZXL main, I have to agree. NoBs could absolutely carry fights. Now I don't even have to worry about springs? My guess is that NoBs and Mangos are going to be countered by their counter: archers. It's just that while the archers may be able to destroy the NoB/Mango, they are going to take a lot of damage in return. I think it'll force fights to be more heavily determined by economy and production. The archer ball is going to take massive damage from the NoBs/Manog, but the NoBs/Mango will almost certainly be destroyed. Now it's about who can replace those lost unit(s) more efficiently.
The advanced military trait is misleading. Does the +25% training speed now apply to military production (which is the production of ALL mikitary BUILDINGS) or is it still limited to military school. Because right now pre patch the trait explicitly says military school production. The new trait says military production, which means production speed of all military buildings but if that is true then instead of age up you can push for vizier points until you get the great bombard and you get to harass from early ages until you can age up while chilling.

The siege change is a direct response to Xbox console feedback. They go OK until it gets to siege warfare, and the mouse player can quickly shift-click enemy siege with springalds and the console isn't as quick and efficient at doing that. Now it'll be more about building the right counters and A-moving rather than precision siege sniping. Gorny here with the scoop.
Pc players were even more frustrated with the siege interaction especially the anti siege units, multiple pro players have recounted the experience as boring and frustrating.

before the Ottomans visiar tech that allowed you to build jannasaries and knights out of military schools produced at the same rate (cost effective wise) as the other units it produced so since there more expensive they took much longer. this made the tech useless i dont understand why anyone got this proir it was a waisted visir point, now the tech atleast produces more resources worth of military than not having it provided youre building knights or jans...
Drongo failed to notice that they removed the siege bonus damage from springalds and now they only deal bonus damage to melee infantry. Springalds are not anti-siege anymore.
the way i personally would try to balance the siege is to try to make it more like real life and make it suuuuuper slow compared to cavalry and infantry. This way, if you go for the siege, you will have the combat advantage, but your army will need to advance much more slowly on the enemy base and this would make people heavely comit toa certain point on the map . this way you will have a stronger army than your opponent at the cost of giving up control of the map and opening yourself up to attacks

Not AoE math, just normal math! You’d use this method to calculate the change in anything that is a rate (for example per second) Normally you make 1/20th villager per second so times that by 1.5 (100% rate +50% bonus from the tech) = 1.5/20ths villager per second. To get back to the base time per villager divide both sides by 1.5, so 20/1.5=13
my brain hurt too a bit, and frankly I can't explain well. I can tell you, I thought it was 10 seconds too initially and went "Ha! Dum devs" . Then I thought, "wait does that mean, 100% increase mean villager produced in 0 seconds?" Then I questioned myself and took out a pencil and paper and 5 min later figured it out.

@@camroth89 1v1 could be true, games are faster, imperial age is more difficult to reach and you can destroy enemy mangonels (that are less effrctive than before in castle age). In 3v3/4v4 its quite the opposite, imperial age is nosense superworth there. One player go full siege with mangonels or nest of bees if chinese(even more broken) mass, others put fodder troop and thats it. 100% worse than before, at least there were spingards and culverin as counters, now is "who spam more siege win". The siege in the game is completely wrong, it should only be effective against buildings.

Happy the ilaaalu kings got new toys to play with, although siege may be too strong now. if the only counter is cav then it looks pretty dire tbh.

20 seconds /100% -> move decimal 2 places left -> 20 sec/1 = 20 seconds for villager
50 % increase:
20 seconds / (100%+50%) -> 20 sec / 150% -> move decimal 2 places left -> 20 sec / 1.5 = 13.33 seconds
100% increase:
20 seconds / (100% + 100%) -> 20 sec / 200% -> move decimal 2 places left -> 20 sec /2 = 10 sec

@@binach7515 never really dove into the math of AoE and your math makes sense but why is is it 20/1.5 rather than 20 x .5?
Not AoE math, just normal math! You’d use this method to calculate the change in anything that is a rate (for example per second)
Normally you make 1/20th villager per second so times that by 1.5 (100% rate +50% bonus from the tech) = 1.5/20ths villager per second. To get back to the base time per villager divide both sides by 1.5, so 20/1.5=13
my brain hurt too a bit, and frankly I can't explain well. I can tell you, I thought it was 10 seconds too initially and went "Ha! Dum devs" . Then I thought, "wait does that mean, 100% increase mean villager produced in 0 seconds?" Then I questioned myself and took out a pencil and paper and 5 min later figured it out.

@@camroth89 1v1 could be true, games are faster, imperial age is more difficult to reach and you can destroy enemy mangonels (that are less effrctive than before in castle age). In 3v3/4v4 its quite the opposite, imperial age is nosense superworth there. One player go full siege with mangonels or nest of bees if chinese(even more broken) mass, others put fodder troop and thats it. 100% worse than before, at least there were spingards and culverin as counters, now is "who spam more siege win". The siege in the game is completely wrong, it should only be effective against buildings.
1. Love the Seige Changes, the gameplay was bland for me: Also love removing tracking projects from mangos - I never liked this and dont like this for arrows.
2. More Technologies please, AOE4 feels like there nothing to tech. I would like to see some Masonry or defense tech for us noobs.
3. I want civs to feel and play different, i dont care too much on balance. Balance is hard, fun is cool.
