I had Ultimate Windy, Hanzo and Kai but I used Boosted Octo spam instead just to feel something. After a while I realized I was feeling too much so went back to Hanzo + Kai to actually beat the stage 😂.
True lol. Contrary to popular opinion, I really liked the Mecha Bun fight because I didn't have Shaman cat so I tried to do something using Cyperpunk, Chronos, Sniper and Sanzo. It was a really memorable fight for me, came down to the wire. On the other hand, regular Bun Bun wasn't memorable at all for me because I had all treasures, saw the name 'Tank' cat and figured he was a the shield guy and had a habit of spamming him and also gotten a guaranteed Uber Rider from Fate Gacha. I beat Bun Bun in my first attempt and never really thought much of it.
bun bun is definitely my favorite, he might not have that many valid strategies to beat him, but he’s just so memorable. He doesn’t come out instantly like the other two eoc moon bosses, he’s actually really difficult, and is fast and pushes hard instead of slow and non-pushing like the Face and Nyandam. he also teaches you to get treasures, although I guess nyandam kind of did that first? But nyandam is still reasonably beatable without treasures unlike bun bun. one of the battle cats bosses of all time
honestly, mecha-bun is an abyssmal final boss for having such a prestigious position, but it would be even worse if you couldn't CC him - looking at his stats, he would probably become a boss which suffers from "oppressive boss syndrome" like Soractes
One Boss i should mention is Giga-Final Boss Cat God: he may seem threatning, but if you think about it, he is a victory lap, id say Black Hole is SO Much easier due to the restrictions, 2500% Pengs are brutal with Restrictions. the reward is Cat god true form which you need Gold-fruit, and He is situational outside of Enemy Cat and Tank Stages.
Another boss that I think is hands down one of the best in the game is Doron. It is the first boss that appears multiple times in its stage but it is such a good bossfight.
Mecha Bun: *based off of Bun Bun, a memorable boss, but ended up being terrible* Luza: *is a Colossus, which happens to be the trait of some controversial bosses, but ended up being a great boss fight* just thought it was worth pointing out. have a good day
And finished the video, this will be extremely useful for newer stage designers for BCU due to showcasing good stage design in a simple manner. This video would have been a Godsend for me like 5 months ago but its too late for that now. My favourite boss battle has to also be luza, due to a variety of factors, not to mention its generally a good stage to study. The first reason this stage is good is due to being one of the very few truly fun endurance stages, and it shows off the concept pretty well. The second reason is the absolutely BANGER soundtrack and my last reason being it showing off bore jr really well. I love bore jr wayy too much due to it being literałly the perfect Glass cannon. It works in pretty much Every stage you Put it in due to being an easy way to push without making the stage too difficult and bore jr also requiring you to be aware of the stage and Time your units to kill it. Bore jr is the best enemy for stages in my opinion.
1) Varied Strategies I think stages with less varied lineups can be very good, if the units used all have very unique roles. Prime example being HT 47. Floor 47 is a fantastic dual boss fight and one of my favorite levels in the game, mostly for its emphasis on game levels 2) Emphasis on Mechanics Bottom of the Swamp is the single best example here. Learning how to use rock cat and beating Kappy with it was the most rewarding experience in the battle cats 3) Iconic fights Just being an Iconic fight is not enough to be a good fight. For example Fillibuster is super iconic but he isn't a good boss
With Bottom of the Swamp I will have to make a footnote that Boulder did not yet exist when the stage came out. And is more an example of how Ponos can (by accident) retroactively make stages good/better. At release, the stage was kind of stupid honestly.
I like bosses that are impactful but aren't overwhelming, also agreeing on the fact that the rewards needs to be good but not always. Some example of this is dogumaru. Primitive Souls can be extremely hard if you're not prepared for it, but the entire stage is not just dogumaru, the peons also have a big impact in there, and the combination of both makes what the stage is while getting a really good reward on dogumaru. On the other side, Livesaving Shovel and imo Wager of Honor Urs doesn't have that big of an impact that other bosses have (either good like Queen Mother V or bad like Doremi/Bakoo), and in the one where it does which is Atonement for Sin when it is properly supported by a big wall which is naala. The reward on urs is good, but the stage is so simple that leaves a bad taste of mouth. Another big factor is the feeling when you beat the stage, if the stage doesn't give you that satisfaction or accomplishment when you beat it then it isn't a good boss fight. Filibuster or COTC 2/3 Cat God feels like it, the last bosses of the chapters but when you beat them is so anti-climatic, you finish it with a sour taste but you can argue these were the "test subjects" for Aku Realms with Mamon and Jagando, which is the exact same thing as COTC 3 Cat God and Filibuster but done right. One example is Metafilibuster in Zero Legends, a not good reward on Metafilibuster, which isn't the most useless TF but it also isn't something to go after other than some niche situations of for the funny, but a beautiful improvement in difficulty and general fun while still keeping the simplicity of the original Filibuster stage.
Maybe nowadays Cat God and fillibuster are "anti-climatic" with all the power creep but I never felt that they were personally. Then again, I beat them like probably around 6 years ago.
One that I like is the old queen. As it’s a hard stage and it’s harder to Uber carry your way through then most. So it forces you to actually be half decent. Also those professor a’s are so rough
@@quepuedohacer2278 agreed. I didn’t have any good ubers for her as the prof a.s outranked most of mine so it took a couple tries but I love my slimy boio

And that's when i started trying figure out strategies. Is not a bad thing, it's the way that the game is trying to advice if you are strong enough and / or doing it in the right way Edit: Also, stacking dragons, legs or any range unit, is the usual way to defeat him, if you have the Cat shield treasures on 300% (100% / 100% / 100%), Titan can tank some hits even with peons.

Uril was the top boss of heavenly/infernal tower which are super hard, making the boss feel rewarding and giving you a good feeling
