well.. i remember a guy talking about when he was like 12 he was a huge gang leader, and many people would underestimate him. They thought because he was young, and doesn't look tough and doesn't have scars that he was weak, so they would challenge him. But, he didn't have scars because he was the one giving the scars. He also explained another reason why many tough guys feared him: he himself was fearless, he just simply didn't care, and that made him fearless.
Also, I'm not saying all this because this should be a role model. Quite the opposite. Integrity is about knowing when to care and about what.

My question: Is the scooting that other people are doing intentional?
It looks like a few of them just started off slow scooting down the hill. I thought this was a race, and I swear I usually see clips from this event where everyone starts running, loses control, and then just tumble the rest of the way down.
Are some of these people just kinda "dipping their toes in" and scooching down intentionally? Or is it a tactic they think might make them win for some reason?
Or do I have this whole thing misunderstood?

It's so interesting how there are actually techniques to falling down a hill, from here you can see she keeps her limbs straight so she can kinda fling herself when rolling, incredibly dangerous but pretty effective
there's a netflix show called we are the champions that has one chapter about this. She broke her clavicle if I'm not mistaken during that race. She said she lost control and was really scared. No technique at all used there, just survival instincts. Preparing for her last race she asked the male champion for advises and he gave her some tips in where to step and what to do if she rolled. I think she broke her ankle in that one.
