Also, if you had gone behind the counter before finding the doorknob you can use the keycard to unlock the door and get the headphones. So cool to see someone else play and see the variation permitted in how you do things!
Always love a new Nancy Drew video! Very happy and surprised there's one about Mayans and Guatemala specifically! I'm really curious now how much the knowledge has changed since this game was made as there's always new things to learn and debunk, especially of Latin American cultures. I do want to state though, that the Mayans didn't believe the world was ending. Like a few other cultures, they believed in a cyclical calendar, so once you got to the end of the Mayan calendar, it just went to the next cycle. It was simply a misinterpretation that then got popularized as it seemed more dramatic to have it seem like the Mayan's thought the world would end. Thank you for playing and posting!
I’m dead not me noticing the DMV (D.C, Maryland, Virginia) metro line as soon as it popped up (09:30) lmaoooo!!! Wishing i had purchased this back in the days lol i gasped and yelled “stay off the redline!”🤣 Realizing i did actually have this game, but was too young to ride the metro lol
Just gonna throw this out there, but I LOVE that you said it reminds you of "El Dorado" because yes! Many aspects of that movie were inspired from Mayan and Aztec culture. In fact, the ball game that is referred to in the exhibit is the one they play in the movie. Even cooler, that is the game the ancient cultures ACTUALLY PLAYED (minus the cute armadillo)!! I studied Ancient Andean Art History in university, and I adored this time period. I even got the privilege of visiting my State's museum where there is a private collection of Ancient Andean artifacts. I got to choose a handful of items to research and present to museum visitors in a psuedo-pop-up exhibition. Quite exciting, seeing as otherwise the items would have never been shown to the public. Seeing aspects of it played out in the game makes me so excited, and I feel like I could probably write out an essay in the comments about all of the amazing aspects of Ancient Andean culture. Anyway, I love the Nancy Drew games, and I love hanging out with you. Stay healthy, be happy, and I can't wait to see the next part!
I’m sorry but the fall down the stairs is always hilarious to me 🤭 the sound effects and growing up with these games really makes me loose it every time.
The day before you started streaming this, I decided to replay it because I figured it had been a while since the last Nancy stream and I knew this one would be next. And then I slept in and only caught the last 15 minutes of the stream, lol. My husband grew up in the area where this game takes place so his mom got this game for the family when it was somewhat new. They never finished it because they got stuck, I think on the quiz questions. A task list and more easily accessible journal probably would've been *very* helpful for them. I wish the phone stuff was more user-friendly, too. Nancy doesn't write down the numbers for you (except on her laptop), it isn't clear that you can only do work calls in the museum, and the whole "dial 1 before the area code if the area code isn't a local one" thing is weird. The plaques of Beeeeeech Hill donors are mostly just made up names, I think. Frou Frou LaBeu and Stimey McGruff certainly seem made up, anyway. But there's also someone whose last name is Falcone (Nicholas's family?) and Punchy LaRue, which is one of the voice actresses for Bess and also a name Nancy uses in a future game, hehe. I never figured out the Pascal's Triangle thing. When I play Bul, I just make the computer pass if it's getting close to me and hope for the best. The "semper ubi sub ubi" thing Joanna says is Latin for "always wear underwear." Loulou also says that sometimes (or at least once when you ask her if she knows Latin) in Blackmoor Manor. A little tip in case anyone plays this on their own: you can skip a few seconds of cutscene if you click while you're on the metro. Zoom around the DC area with even more unrealistic speed! :D And like the laptop maze in Haunted Mansion, you can hit M on your keyboard to make a map show up when doing the maze in the second area of the temple.
i remember trying to play a Nancy Drew game when i was a kid but getting too scared of the music, i'm glad I'm getting to see you play it, a real blast from the past

As someone born and raised in dc I appreciate the research and lengths that they been to make this soooooooo accurate!
Watched this to relax after a long work week, which included lots of reading and drafting of addendums, and somehow one of Nancy's tasks has to do with "addenda" WHYYYYY lol --a triggered lawyer
I just finished replaying this one after many years and I was surprised to see you were able to do the audio challenge without even getting headphones!
Wishing i had purchased this back in the days lol i gasped and yelled “stay off the redline!”🤣
Realizing i did actually have this game, but was too young to ride the metro lol
Alejandro calling Nancy out on her colonial racism is giving me LIFE
Just gonna throw this out there, but I LOVE that you said it reminds you of "El Dorado" because yes!
This is the first ND game I received as a kid (along with Ghost Dogs of Moon Lake) and got me so into the game series! Thanks for showing
Yes loved the ghost dogs one hope she does that one too
@@monikaliane me too! I think she’d love it
Was able to catch bits and pieces of the streams for this, I’m glad I’ll be able to see it in full. c:
Native Kansan here! I love how you say "Topeka". Way more exotic sounding than "Tuh-pee-kuh". 😂
ahh yes I love your nancy drew playthroughs so much! so fun and cosy 🥰
Yessss! Love seeing you play Nancy Drew games! Played them growing up and its nice to see them getting more notice 👏🏻💙
YES!!! Thank you for playing more Nancy Drew :) I love how chill you are and it makes these seem so fun
So excited!!! I played this when I was younger and got nightmares and never finished it! Excited to see it all the way through.
