I've been using it on bare metal for the past month. I installed it on an old Imac (2013) and It runs like a dream, No crashing, no lagging. Really impressed so far
Deepin does not use modified version of gnome, they use Qt for their apps not GTK4, and they don't use mutter for their deaktop environment either. All their apps are built from cero by them.
@@BobDevV you can install the desktop environment on any ubuntu based system - sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntudde-dev/stable - sudo apt install ubuntudde-dde - sudo dpkg-reconfigure lightdm
It's been a while since I ran Deepin on hardware, but it's not based on Gnome. The Window Manager was KWIN and building applications used Qt with their own set of libraries, not GTK like Gnome uses. So Deepin is on the opposite sides of Gnome.
While I don't disagree with you. When I opened the system settings it says WM "GNOME" so basically it is a modified version of gnome. Kind of how cinnamon is also a modified version of gnome. If that makes sense.
@@linuxhub70 Deepin desktop has been mostly written from scratch. However it's using KDE KWIN and is built on QT just like KDE. It used to be based on gnome before deepin 15 though.
to be honest. for audio production of that nature i would keep a dual boot slot for microsoft. it is simply better at the moment for those types of productions. linux is still a few years back on that type of production. but with pipewires update. things might just move along faster.
sir, i am mayank, when i install Deepin V23 Beta 3 On my 2013 HP Elitebook 840 G1 (With 8gb Ram and 512 GB of NVME SSD) it does not show any Drive I know you'll say that this is Deepin V23 Beta 3 So This version is unstable But Same with Deepin 20.9!!!! i Used UUI (universal usb installer) version 2.0.0.1 For Installing Without USB, Today i'll try using USB because on this same laptop last time i tried to install Deepin 20.9 It worked so i think there might be a problem with my Volume partition in Computer so i will try it using USB thanks!
First, I am not the developer of deepin. I am just a reviewer of it. Every system I review is thru a virtual machine. And I encourage all to do so as well to test it before messing with bare metal. I have never heard of the issue you are having with it so it is hard for me to give you an answer on it. It can be a kernel issue, software issue or hardware issue. But I simply can not answer this question with any certainty on the matter. Have you tried the deepin forums?

OK. It is forked from Gnome. Try not to lose sleep on these remarks.
@@linuxhub70 You have no clue on what Qt is, right?
@@linuxhub70 It is not a fork of GNOME, please double check your information before posting.
Visually it looks pretty nice.
I agree
Been using deep since v15 or 17, always loved the beautiful desktop environment.
what exactly is "CN" I would like to know and investigate. Thanks
I'm assuming he means Chinese packages.@@linuxhub70

The only usable desktop environment. I wish more distros had it.
You can install it in any distro
for me it sucks on arch linux.
Missed opportunity to check if steam is in the deepin app store 😕
sorry, not a gamer.
it is in the Deepin Store

@@dand337 good to know. Thanks
Is it lightweight
Can I run it on my Lenovo IdeaPad Slim, AMD A9 4GB RAM.
Currently using Ubuntu, it runs smoothly
This is a beta version. wait for official release to avoid beta errors.
I still prefer deepin 15.11 UI
The UI since Interface 20 seems intended for tablets, not desktops
its how these youngenz like things. all flashy. to me they are just resource hogs.
I would like to know if is possible to install windows app, because I am Dj and producer. So their is a chance to install them or not?
