There's virtually nothing bad to say about these guys. They're the most loyal of minions while making evil Power Rangers/Sailor Scouts/Ninja Turtles/w.e. seem badass yet menacing. If it weren't for Goku, the Ginyus would have won.

Ginyu Force prequel series needed. Play it out like a season of super sentai/power rangers. 40-50 episodes, monster of the day stuff. Half way in have an especially strong foe/planet of foes show up. One of the team we know of isn't there. Recoome I think is a good choice. Have the guy in his place valiantly sacrifice themselves to defeat this foe. Next few episodes are slice of life as the force copes with this loss in their own way before having try outs to replace them. Zarbon or Salza looks like they will get in, when out of no where Recoome shows up "okay big guy, you are strong, but do you have poise? It takes more than power to get into the ginyu force" Recoome then proceeds to style all over the competition. Ginyu sheds a single manly tear. "You got it kid."
These guys needs a story on how they started the criminal career and met and joined Frieza. An alternate story of redemption could be a thing, however they are so mad and narcisistic that i find It really hard; if they got a chance to turn good they would stop goofing?

I actually like the goofiness of Ginyu Force, completely out of context for a serious arch, adds some comicity; It also annoys me how Frieza treata them compared to other minions.
