So some of the jokes he made had a positive reaction but the way he reacted was as if the jokes were "too edgy" and people reacted negatively. I think he thought those jokes were going to get a different reaction.
I'm not sure if they can do that because of the Olympics, but who knows? They might have a two-episode half hour special that airs a few weeks before the premiere of their 50th season. They did it before for season 35 (2009-2010 season). And even then, it'll probably just be them catching up on any and all craziness that happened during the summer. If you were hoping for it to be a weekly thing from June to September, that's probably not going to happen. EDIT: We're going to have to wait until SNL premieres this Saturday for them to play catch-up, though the weeknight talk shows did take some of the burden off.
I have said it before and I will say it again, Weekend Update being posted in its entirety is the best watch to start Monday mornings. The comedy flows much more smoothly and this week was one of the most Hilarious in recent memory
That was a GREAT joke. I rewound Che's joke three times, initially because I didn't catch it the first time. The other two times was just because it was THAT good. Well done
I swear, Weekend Update's writers just get better and better every week! The crazier things get, the funnier they get! I also think Sarah Sherman is the perfect antagonist for Colin no matter what character she's playing, and that some of the jokes on Colin, he doesn't see before air time! :-)
Heidi's Update characters are all some of the best things I've ever seen on the show. 80's Cocaine Wife and Girlfriend in Every Boxing Movie are both just insanely detailed, and the movie review teen who thinks Thanos is hot was killer too.
Colin starting the joke with the word 'Marvel' was a clear indication to me that I was going to laugh hard once he finishes telling the rest of it. Epic!
I've been thinking about the number of times recently when SNL folks break (it hardly ever used to happen) and have come to the conclusion that reason for so many breaks now is cuz the writing this season is so damn laugh out loud funny that even the actors crack up.
I didn't get it... I know what mailer daemon is, but I don't understand how she would have misunderstood it as a confirmation, given that it usually tells you explicitly that your email has failed with an error code and everything. I guess she might have just seen her own message bounce back and misinterpreted it, but it didn't seem very ambiguously phrased. "In town, can I host?" doesn't seem easy to read as a confirmation of anything.
@@rmb6037nobody reads error messages. Me, IT for 25 years. The error is clearly there. They still call us to explain. "User does not exist" is not enough
Somehow this was the second reference this week to the newspaper strip Cathy and it's driving my nuts that I can't remember what the first one was. Seth Myers maybe?
Props to the sound crew manning the “slurping on brains” button.
She was putting them through their paces!!
😎
Since I like a good pun, I would say props to the prob guy.
Yaaaa props for doing their job lol

The nervous laughter at Heidi’s part lmaooo 😭😭 she played her role so well everyone got flashbacks 💀
That lady in the audience is having the time of her life 😂😂
IKR? PLUS SHE LAUGHS EXACTLY LIKE MY LOUD ASS AUNTIE!

Che you killed on this episode, the Ray J joke, the Drake joke, the intervention joke all hilarious lol
Don't forget, "I don't know you." 🤣😂🤣 With the confidence of a man who has had to say that before.🤣😂🤣

get the tree n👨🏿. im 'mixed' btw
The Stormi Daniel's movie titles joke was also excellent
"he was eventually subdued by a passenger with rock!" 😂😂😂😂😂
Yeah that was a good one too
I laughed harder at that one than any other joke. My sense of humor is...simple.
@@darryl2542 not at all, you must be a very subtle person
Heidi is the best at these characters
Angel, Bailey Gismert, one half of the Instagram couple. Heidi does treading the thin edge of nervous breakdown like no one since Cecily Strong.
She is better than Cecily Strong especially with her voice cracking, it's very unique!
Brainworm sketch was genius. This version of weekend update is so great!
Don't worry Che. We loved the title joke.
All the jokes.
The title joke was genius!
I laughed so hard at the Drake joke
Pretty good
I think all his jokes are absolutely something else... so great... 😂
Please keep “Weekend Update” going all summer long. We’re going to need the laughs.
Totally agree

That Ray J joke, Jesus Christ 🤣

Sarah's appearances at the news desk are always funny as shit, she's fucking amazing
Also even bettter when she makes fun of Colin 😂
That mailer daemon joke clearly wasn't for everyone, but for the people that got it, it was absolutely brilliant.
All night long...
Heidi's fake leaving/chair bit made my week
That Ray J joke was fn savage lmao
The straight to tiktok out loud was great… too real
Sarah Sherman's priorities:
1. Be funny
2. Mercilessly dunk on Colin Jost by any means necessary.
and make sound crew do more work
She only manages to do one of those things and it's not the first one
#2 the new cecily
She’s funny by mercilessly dunking on Collin Jost; how about that?
She regularly fail that first part

The Ray J joke was vicious!
I loved it
Jeez. Rick Scott looks like National Inquirior's Bat Boy.
Che got all the insane jokes 😂😂😂
Dat Drake joke was lethal!
I never get tired of Colin playing into the joke after Che insults him.
This is how I get my news.
Che gave his full commitment to 'the bomb.' I love the dedication to craft.
Lmao, that one ladies laugh 😂
Heidi Gardner is awesome. First the Beavis & Butthead crackup, and now this. Nailed it!
took me a moment to get that last "mailer-daemon" joke. nice!

Best Heidi character since Boxers Girlfriend.

Lol that must be one of their mothers in the audience laughing so hard.
Sarah Sherman is comedy gold. Can see her making a career out of playing the hilarious disgusting yet bizarrely charming characters.

I didn’t understand that one
"hush money to the jury".
12:41 - best bounced email joke on SNL this season!
