Just found tour channel. Thank you for the hints and tips. I use Google maps too. Look for the area. Zoom in on satellite. Find a spot and then do street view! Sometimes you can see the the parking signs to see if overnight is allowed.
I live in wales and i own a campervan, unfortunately people have spoilt it for others by leaving rubbish and human shit everywhere, so they have ruined it for the locals and people wanting to visit. shame.
Camper vans get the blame for the most part, but if you've watched my park ups in the Lake District you will see it's not always campers vans dumping the rubbish and some of us in vans are even cleaning it up and taking it away with us. I for one have my cameras rolling 24/7 and anyone I see be it van or car or walker will get reported.
@@welsheggs It's disgusting - why ruin natural areas? I saw a woman in Lytham St Anne's letting her dog crap on the beach and the nasty cow ignored me when I said something about it. Typical dog owners.
Great to find you . Off grid wild camping vans park ups are our specialty.. cool to trade spots ours are mainly coastal. .. ours are south west U.K. we’ve just subscribed to your channel.
Nice job on the video look forward to the next one👍 Went to that same park up at Bala Lake about a week after meeting you on the south coast was under about 2 foot of water!
Yeah I should have a video on the morning after the storm. The roads were blocked with fallen trees we had to use our axe to cut them up and clear the roads. Both ways blocked. Shin deep in flood water.
I also do a lot of solo travel. When travelling in small groups radio come in very handy. Sometimes you lose sight of the lead van on round-a-bouts etc and having a radio means only one person has to navigate. Also if you want to stop and see something interesting you can talk to each other. Makes driving easier having someone to talk to.
Hi Alswords that's a great idea but at the moment the law/rules change daily. And from town to town. You literally drive over a province line and have a total different mayor and tatal new set of rules. The only way to know what the rules are at a given time is to check the government sites ie Google that town and read what applies on the day. And even that is hit and miss cos it's not in English. Sorry I couldn't be any more helpful but in all honesty most governments don't look like they know what to do.
Hi Ross. We use a simple Motorola T80 tklr walkie talkie system. Gives us about 2 mile range. A lot of other people I know who travel in groups use the same system also. It's cheap and gives good coverage. I will also be buying a CB midland Alan 42 DS as this will run off 12v
im going to be homeless soon please let me know safe stealth park up areas in the Derbyshire area cheers atb (im alone , female , middle-aged, partially disabled etc)
Are you on FB.? Please join the full time vanlife group or Search for mark leech and add me. I don't really want to put something like that on UA-cam cos it might invite the wrong kind of person to where you are parked.
@@nopretribrapture2318 Hey I know this was years ago but are you sorted now? There are schemes for homeless people and as someone with a disability you're supposed to have priority need according to legislation.
Yeah either reverse or squeeze past if there is enough room. Some areas are worse than others cos a lot of the lanes are narrow. The Lake District and Cornwall come to mind as being the worst. The Welsh storm video I made is about the longest we've reversed. That was because trees booking the road. I do have a reverse camera though.
@@Roadshome Ok thanks! Any etiquette about who reverses?? I'm a bit of a stereotype not being the best driver in the world, but I don't want to be rude!
For me I assume the person with the least distance or easier route give way. But if I see someone haven't a problem in reverse I'd reverse myself. What ever is easiest really. Some people are proper stubborn and don't want to move 🤣
Due to the rapidly growing uncertainty in the UK living semi mobile in a decent vehicle like a Winnebago as opposed to a fixed location in a prefab house is an attractive option but it's daunting and there seems to be little info on it in general. Most videos are about off grid in a prefab or shack. What about things like voting in elections and other things not having a fixed address? Thanks for your vids.
I was going to do a few videos on what it's like to live in a van in London. Some of those questions could be covered in a few videos like that. Thanks for your inter action it's giving me some well needed ideas
Lived in my van 3 years in UK. Never been asked to move. Police knocked at Christmas in the Lake District and asked why I was out during lockdown. I replied I live in my van. I am home. I also have covid so can't move. He asked if I need any shopping/food/water/ or help. 😁 Nope all good so far. See my next video Mike tomorrow evening. I'm parked outside somes house for the weekend. No issues at all.
If your out the area of natural beauty you should be ok. Anywhere near Snowdon is a problem. Still a few lay-bys at the bottom near idwal you can park and around by the bus turning point behind the slate quarries. Mid Wales has a lot more to offer in way of parking.
@@Roadshome Yes I’m aware what it means, I was just wondering why the boatdog was referring to women, he doesn’t know, on the internet in a derogatory manner. I see that you condone his behavior and not only that, you view female vanlifers as “tagging along”. Yikes. This is clearly not the channel for me and I’ll be unsubscribing. Shame. A response isn’t necessary. Good luck.
If my channel isn't for you that's fine by me. There are plenty others to watch. Mines there for those who do like the content. I condone nothing but free speech, and choice. Boatdog is inclusive. I have many many female friends in vanlife and maybe before you jump to conclusions you should ask them. Message fire angel please and tell her your thoughts. You should also be aware I have been full time for 2.5+ years and have witnessed fellow UA-camrs fake everything including lying about being full-time when they have homes to live in. Some of them with large amounts of subs and very well known. My guess is Boatdog is also aware of this and gaining subs by lying to my followers isn't something I'd want to do at the cost of subs.
No one likes a half naked woman in a bikini with back doors open. Especially those middle aged fully clothed women. 😊 I find the hugging vanlife couple funnier , after all someone is there to take the staged photo. I like the real channels, about real people with real lives and real problems.

We will be adding a 'park ups' revisited soon. ❤️
In Wales I find that most forestry access tracks have padlocked barriers across them
Yeah fire trails have them mostly.
Yh I find that, it's so annoying

Excellent google maps advice. I’m just new to van life and as a sole female I tend to panic a bit about finding a park up
One thing to say if it doesn't feel safe, then leave, otherwise you will have a rubbish night's sleep worrying.
I always park my van facing the exit, just incase I need to jump in the drivers seat and leave.
Great video 👌

don't vote, it's a waste of time, that's the beauty of living full time in a van, your mind opens up and you see how the world really works
