not knocking your video, thank you for doing it, but i would not recommend lock tite, trust me they used cheap screws you will pay for this later, you can believe or not but if you ever want to take out trust me with lock tite your probably going to strip them out, i know trust me
Looks from here that the aluminum side plate extends a bit above and below the receiver. I already have Magpul furniture and a pic rail with ghost ring sights on my 500. Does it look like that side place will interfere with mounting accessories on the pic rail. I saw a comment on another vid that the lower end of the side plate might block access to the slide release??
I'm here because the way I have it installed (on a maverick 88) does block the slide release a tad. But I never realized to take the plastic shell holder off and install the plate first. Not sure if it'll still line up but plan on trying tomorrow
I have the Mossberg with MagPul furniture and pic rail. The slide does interfere with the SideSaddle. Easy solution was to mark where the slide interferes with the aluminum plate. Then hacksaw away material. This removes one of plastic shell holder attachment points. No harm done since it is still plenty rigid. The slide also interferes with the plastic shell holder. Easy fix was use a chisel to slice a chamfer/ramp and remove some of the material. There is complete clearance with the tolerance stack-up on mine. Maybe took half an hour to modify including using a file to clean up the edges and apply some Krylon paint.
@@abcaabca6364 I didn't have any clearance problems with the mag pull hardware. I did have a problem with the replacement for the ejector screw. Mossberg was no help. Mine is an old 80's 500 combo. The longer screw seemed the incorrect diameter. Mossberg blew me off, would not supply the specs for the stock screw. Lyman was more help. Sent me another screw kit in case my kit had the wrong screw. Replacement was just as tight. I found my actually gun screwdriver set and just kept cranking and the screw worked with zero thread damage. The screw head is a bit chewed up but everything cycles properly.
If you have a wooden fore end it WILL NOT WORK. When you try to cock it back, IT WILL NOT FULLY COCK. The synthetic fore end is cut straight down, but the wooden one is cut at an angle and prevents you from pulling it completely back. I had to get a refund!!
@@davidglazener7921 Thanks so much; I appreciate it. Also, it looks like this 4 shot model will work as well.... ua-cam.com/video/OCooSQ-33tI/v-deo.html However, I think I may get both. Thanks so much for your help and response, David.
John Nolan I was wondering the same thing, I'm 98% sure that it does prevent removal of the trigger group. However, being a pump, it's not going to get very dirty in the trigger group. From reading online, people recommend taking it down once a year or if you happen to run 1,000 rounds through, whichever first. Once a year, it won't be terrible to remove the plate, even with loctite. The typical after-use cleaning you want to do is down the barrel and in the receiver with a few q-tips or toothbrush.
Thanks for making this video. I wanted to see how it lined up on the receiver. Looks like I won't have to mod or shorten my forend. Go Sabres!
Good Job... a little long winded, but this video helped me in my buying decision.
Hey man can you help what are the lengths of the two screws the going into the reciever i lost my hardware
I think so cause the maverick 88 is based off of the 500

Huge difference between blue and red locktite. Green is the most agressive. Blue won't hurt anything
When you clean it do you have to remove it?
A Philly Boy!

How much does it cost?

What’d you end up replacing it with David?
@@michaelforte6108 A 6 shell holder that attaches with velcro.

Does this prevent you from removing the trigger group for cleaning
