@John Barber I guess most languages ”devolve” nowadays. My own first language swedish, is getting more and more deluted because of a lot of old swedish words beeing replaced by english words. Or perhaps I should call them ”swenglish” words instead, since they are proper english words but pronounced in a swedish manner which of course makes them sound stupid. On a daily basis the world gets more or less bombarded with english by way of i.e. the Interwebz via social media, games, music and movies, so sometimes people seem to have an easier time coming up with the english word something they want to say rather then the swedish equivalent. It might seem a bit wierd, but to be honest, it happens to me too a lot. It’s like the english language is slowly replacing the smaller languages of the world one word at a time. At the same time the people slowly getting their own language replaced by english is writing stuff all over the internet in a way that’s based on the grammatics of our own languages. Which in turn means that we are spreading this devolved version of english all over the internet in some kind of a wierd and extremely roundabout way of getting even on the language that rules the world. 😀 Just look at my post in this comment section for instance. Here I am trying to give y’all some kind of a lame @ss theory on why I think the english language is devolving because english is in itself devolving all the other languages of the world, and while I’m doing it I’m butchering your language in a way that from a certain point of view could be seen as some kind of a proof for my lame @ss theory on this matter. Several intertwined reasons. 1. Cost - a multi-camera production that has to film on-location is really expensive. The fewer days they have to film the cheaper the episode. 2. The pitch was to keep the commitment small to push the urgency and keep the production manageable - Mick and Tim set up the show this way. 3. The show needs to sell and to facilitate that, you try to make it as cheap as you reasonably can. There's also diminishing returns on most of these sites. They're never gonna find the grave of an unknown king complete with golden crown and treasure, so if you dig for three days you might find 20 sherds of pottery and although in four weeks you might find 200, they're still just bits of pot. I didn't finish the video yet, but maybe a reason to have all the shipping to to the island, is for easy redistribution. THe ships of the era would have been able to beach to load and unload, so ships coming from overseas could come to unload into boats that would go do various other harbors, and load up with goods from all sorts of harbors,, that way local shippers could just bring their goods to green island, then those goods would be loaded up by overseas shippers.

I agree!
Weekends as most of them are actually professors at various universities.
@@eire187 ahh, that makes sense, thanks!
What happens to these sites after the archeology is done? Where does the material taken from the ground go?
From what i have heard they recorded it and put into archives, so that future archeology might taken place after them
They go to local museums and preservation societies. Most times after they leave, local archaeologists continue. If you search the sites on google, there are often dedicated websites with updates.
@@angelapiccolella1491 thank you
Why was the island owner so stingy about digging more pits or trenches (she would only allow one more very small one when asked)? Wouldn't she find the history they uncover on the property fascinating? They said they would replace her precious turf, afterall.
It came across like she liked the drama and control. Sadly.
Its called green island so maybe she hiding some green cheese. Lol.
Peace and agap'e.
That's where all her victims are buried.
Just kidding obviously 😳
@@evanz2704 so was i. Its a joke about the name of one of U.K.s nukes. Green cheese. I laughed when i read about it. I think it's my favorite name for one. That and tsar bomba. Lol.
Because maybe she was a snobbish uptight upperclass elitist, who didn't want the peasants digging holes in her pristine garden...
Do they not sell Permethrin in England? :)
Wonder how many beer tabs they found first.
Those finds, all finds, look spectacular to me.
It was nice of them to splurge and get a cameo of umma thermin.
I want to live there!!!!
How can you own an island knowing there's ancient evidence and still be like no dont dig....wtf
Well that was fun.
Look on Furzey island, it was Connected once upon a time.
Could be for sure that makes sense. Maybe loading onto rover boats too to go up river into the country side
Thought I recognized the voice, hello Baldrick!
36 Ticks 😳
I sure hope not, I never had that many at one time on me
Sydney has the largest harbour in the world
Next, the search for Hidden Valley, home of ranch dressing.
What was the sea level 2000 years ago compared to today? It wasn't called the Roman Warm Period for nothing.
The same i was asking myself too…
