Yes fps dipped a lot and lots of pop-ins when large crowds gathered. But honestly, Unity gave us an unparalleled level of control on the free running elements (and I know its unrralistic), so much that is just fun to run around the city. I dont know, it felt really fluid for me and the social stealth system here is actually useful

I’ve never replayed an AC game as much as this one. I didn’t even realize it was my favorite until I played it again after the Notre Dame fire. This game is over 5 years old and has better graphics than the new AC games

But they have nailed mythology part in AC Valhalla. And Mythology is not the problem as it is a part of Assassin's creed from early on as juno, Jupiter and minerva are gods from roman mythology and they have equivalents in Greek and Norse mythology and in other forms. The problem is In Odyssey in which they just f*ck up the lore and use pieces of Eden as an excuse to epic boss battles to tire the player out and sell more Micro-transactions which do not benefit the player or the game whatsoever as level scaling is turned on always. Odyssey took out the mystery of the first civ/isu. Myth is what first civ/isu is in the Assassin's creed franchise. They are portrayed in the AC canon as the species that was highly technologicaly advanced and with triple-helix DNA who created humans to rule over and use as slaves. So they were seen as gods as for their technology can only be understood as magic for primitive human beings.

Does it look good? Sometimes. Does it work? Every now and then. But then you go back to AC1-AC3 and it really opens your eyes. Those games were masterpieces in a mechanical sense. Nothing beats AC1-Rev’s responsiveness, or AC3’s fluid input-to-animation capabilities. The best way I can describe AC Unity is that it feels like you’re playing the game through SharePlay. Moving on to combat. I actually quite liked it but at the same time, it just doesn’t work. A pillar of AC games is the ability to mow through men like nothing, it’s a testament to each assassin’s skill. There’s a reason Connor, Ezio and Altaïr are regarded as arguably the best assassins, because the gameplay reflects that. I guess that was Unity’s way of saying Arno’s a poor fighter. For me it just felt like momentum stopped and started whenever it felt like it, and you were never really in control due to how complex the whole process was
Unity’s parkour is the 3rd best in the series. The animations may look cool, but the system is still pretty inconsistent, and does not provide the freedom and manual input of AC1 - Rev, or even the Kenway games for that matter. I will take AC3’s parkour animations over Unity’s any day, because although they may not be as flashy, the blending of the animations is so smooth and seamless. Whenever Arno hops from object to object it’s like he’s teleporting towards it.
I think it’s a best looking parkour, not the best system. AC1-Revalations parkour system is still the best because of freedom of movement allow you to take risks
Oh sure it looks pretty, but try actually going somewhere with it only to have arno do a spin jump to some other wall the complete opposite way of where you wanted to go & in many cases now you've lost the mission because it's a timed sequence.
Unity was my first AC game, then rogue. AC Unity is definitely my favorite as I felt like an assassin. No pulling down the hood when you’re out of a restricted zone (which is one of the reasons why I don’t like the games that do this.) There was a variety of customization options (unlike the other games which included mostly outfits.) Later on I got a gift, Origins, which I’ve got to admit deserves the Assassins Creed title more than the other RPG games when it comes to story at least. I was disappointed when I realized I’d likely have to grind for hours to get any satisfaction out of the game that running around Paris and randomly killing a few criminals got me in Unity. On my second play-through of Unity (I had switched to using google stadia on my Laptop because I preferred keyboard and mouse) I had bought the DLC and had started it without realizing I’d be stuck in it. So I spent about a week figuring out how to get through without getting noticed. I had preferred the stealth approach but was not that good at unity with a keyboard and mouse so I kept getting noticed and killed by the max level infantry with literally no gear or skill whatsoever.

Unity parkour was garbage, I lost track of how many times the constant wall sticking made me lose objectives, or how I'd try and climb down from a surface only to be yeeted the opposite direction and fall to my death.
Syndicate has far worse parkour, as not only is the city design worse for parkour, but they removed a lot of the moves from unity and the ability to jump.
You mean worst right ? Arno NEVER does anything I want him to do. When he's supposed to go somewhere, he prefer jumping further. When I want to go down, he just hangs in there or glitch the hell out.
@@TigreDemon it does, that's why it controls way better on pc than controller. Arno will move in the direction relative to the camera. If you press w he will go to wherever the camera is looking, if you press a he will go to the left of that.
@@titularhero I also noticed at the end, when I was around 95% synchro that there was an input lag on the PC version ... you have to put "normal" as priority to the process for it not to lag ... fucked up
