Yes we can save our ocean, by imposing strict fish quotas, and making sure that they dont dump their bet in the sea. Stop subsidise fishing industry. And we as consumers we need to reduce or stop eating fish as we as consumers have this power in our hands, we need to act now.

I remember when I first started supporting 4ocean and they seemed to be the only company around trying to save our oceans. Then I heard about the ocean cleanup and wanted to support them as well. Now I am happy to see that there are so many other companies that are cleaning up our oceans and it is bringing me such great joy! Thank you to all of these genius companies who saw a necessity and took it upon themselves to make a difference for our world and our future!

It is really important to note that these are reactive solutions and not proactive. They reactively help pick out the rubbish from seas and rivers wonderfully. They are half the battle as we need to also invest in structural changes that help developing economies that don't have adequate waste management systems. The scale of the amount of plastic entering our seas and rivers is so vast that small scale removal programs aren't able to make a dent. Having both reactive and proactice solutions are necessary in this battle. So don't think donating to reactive solutions is enough, vote in politicians who will look at infrasture etc.

Maybe implement legislation that forces developed countries for recycling their own waste, rather than allowing private companies from exporting to developing countries. Also companies like coca-cola should be responsible for the cost of recycling their plastic bottles, this should not be something that they can pass on to municipalities or the consumer.

Then others are (on their own) using small scale systems to convert plastics to fuel or recycle plastics into other useful items - at a reasonable cost. Many different approaches are being used to the plastic pollution problem. Which is what is needed. Some need only be scaled up to have a serious impact.

I believe Manta is the most effective, because it's self sustainable and also collected plastic is used for energy and as a result there will be not very much to ship out.

It's not economical to have a waste sorting crew on board. All the extra weight on the boat means more energy to propel the boat and less payload that can be brought on land. A hydro generator needs to be ankered at the bottom to use the energy of the water current to generate electricity. I'm also sceptical about a closed-loop incinerator that could fit on a small boat like this and produce enough energy to propel that boat. So the rendering is original but the thermodynamic behind the project deserve an F.

you gave an F grade, and you can't even spell Anchored or skeptical , and you did know burning plastic is toxic right? i could point out two other obvious flaws in your logic , such as a hydro generator on a river that barely moves is hardly feasible either. perhaps if you had a 2nd grade education your grade would have improved to at least a D

I wish countries around the world wouldn't allow plastic bottles and containers and force companies to go back to reusable glass containers like they used to back in the old days.
Companies put profits before keeping our planet clean.

There should be a concerted effort by those corporations that have exploited the use of plastics to pay for all this from their profits.

some of these look quite good although i would to see a bit of co-operation between the projects - it seems that some of these could be left as they are, or slightly modified so they would be more effective for just being used where rivers and streams meet the sea, although i suppose a big net on the end of these rivers could also be used to stop any rubbish getting to the sea - think its australia has a similar system from their storm drains, big heavy net over the ends stop about 95%+ of all rubbish

Sea Bins seem to be the most logical first step globally at mass scale rather than others...for many/all reasons. Use current connectivity technology to utilize "empty return" trips of boats/ships to maximize efficiency of waste collection vs. Energy use...
