interesting changes between my 2020 growler 40 and this 2021, they did some nice changes on the part spec switching to shimano drivetrain, and better hubs. the 2021 model should be an even better shredder than the 2020!
The frame on this looks just like my 2021 Blizzard 10, 'cept with a shock and smaller tires :) - for the record, I love the Blizzard. Another note, these frames are perfect for a full frame triangle bag, which is WAY more handy for water bottles, keys, phone, etc. and negates the need for a second water bottle mount.
I have the 20' model it is DEFINITELY a ripper! Although the 20' is kitted with an eagle setup and non threaded BB, it sure does rock. I caught HT fever while I had a Hawk Hill, then transitioned to a Trek Roscoe. A few months ago I found my Growler on Pinkbike and immediately scooped it up. This thing is a tank. It's been to Bryce resort, as well as rolling singletrack. Truly is a do it all bike. If you find one snag it!
Hi, I was wondering about the growler 20s bottom bracket. Do you know what it is specifically? 90% of the reviews of the growler iin youtube are the 40 model.. I couldn't find an up close and personal review of the 20.
@@MitchOnTwoWheels do you mind if I ask about the sizing? I got a medium, I'm so used to riding such an ancient mountain bike, I hope this isn't too big. I'm around 5'6" but I have 31 inch inside leg. The Rocky Mountain shop, said that a small was too small for me, the dropper post when down has about an inch and a half til the bike frame post. what do you think?
I thought the axles across the growler line are all the same. Care to elaborate on what you meant by this? I'm thinking of getting the 20 with the same reason as you, the paint on the 20 looks better.
there was an issue with the dropper length and the seat tube, on the blizzard. the water bottle bolts damaged the bottom of the dropper post and it might be and issue on the growler as well. I've had my rm growler 40 for about a month, and if I could change anything it would be the tires. They are the light model and a thorn punctured my tire on probably my second ride.
Kinda cheeezy, Rocky Mountain Bikes, does not install a Suntour Aion. A better fork with minimal increase of cost. WTB i30 rims are just cheap & not trustworthy. 2.6 tires on a 30mm rim, requires a hacksaw for removal. The proper rims would be Duroc35 for 2.6 tires. The Growler would be better with a 2.5, on the front and a 2.3, on the rear.
I’m looking to buy a new bike since my old Raleigh MT200 1993 is just obsolete now, this bike took my interest right away, overall it sounds really good, but if I may ask about the climbing ability, how good is it if we are talking about climbing small hills and somewhat steep inclines in trails?
@@MitchOnTwoWheels i certainly think its interesting cause ive been looking at alot of bikes lately particularly one like that and i already have a Blizzard 😃 looks brand new in the pics though well worth the cash
I'm in the US and am wanting this bike, but am told it's not available here until March '21. Where did you get your bike, and do you know if they'll sell/ship to the US?

Took my Growler 40 2021 to a downhill bike park and shredded down every trail I hit
same!!
I just picked up the Growler 50 2022, 20% discount with tubless conversion. Just WOW!!!

Loved my 2020 Growler and loving the color combo on this 21

Same dude. Just wondered one 20 minutes ago in the blue
I’m still wondering why you don’t have 50,000 subscribers
Me too :)
This guy deserves way more subs than he currently has
Great video. Great looking bike. Just preordered one for my wife. Also within calgary area. Surprised you don't have more subscriptions.
Wicked! I’m sure the subs will come :)
I’m not in any rush.
@@MitchOnTwoWheels you do a great job sir!
I appreciate it :)
Great value for a great bike !
Absolutely!
I just bought a brand new 23' closeout growler 40 at 30%off for $1330!
Awesome!
Nice review. It is a sharp looking hardtail!
It’s definitely a sharp looking rig.
How's the tire clearance on the chainstay? You only showed the seatstays. It'd be awesome if 29x2.8s actually do fit.
I suspect they will.
I’m looking at this one and the specialized fuse. Thoughts? Also what’s the main difference between the growler 40 and 50?
Brakes and fork.
Just curious on sizing... how tall are you and what is your preferred reach #?
6-3.... Long
Can anyone tell me where can I buy it online?? I live in Europe...
Where can you buy frame only? Thanks.
is the only differance between this and the Growler 50 the shifter and fork?
Not sure. I would compare the models on their site for specs. But same frame.
Thx
I want thid but i hate the paint job, i like the growler 20s paint better but i like the axle in this, i guess i can upgrade the 20

We ran into this same issue on a 2021 Blizzard however with the seat tube so low we were able to get it sorted out.
where can i buy this bike online?
I’m not too sure. Maybe call Rocky and ask who their online dealers might be? I lucked out in Edmonton at Red Bike.
Try Jenson USA
Oh, I want that bike real bad! I wonder when stocks will be available anywhere.
Hopefully soon!
Front chain ring - comes stock 30T? How big can we go? 34T?
I can’t see why not.
@@MitchOnTwoWheels Thank you kindly. Best wishes.
Do all growler 40s come with a fender ?
Good question. I’m guessing it has to do with what fork it comes with?

Through a Rocky Mountain dealer or distributor.

As good as a 65 Degree HTA Hardtail is going to be :)
