Nice work. I note you chose not to remove all the electronics before starting? I would, just so I can get a clean work area. I'd also use "wet and dry" sandpaper with water on the finish, and acetone to cleanup.

Yes, this was a fast easy fix on a glider that I got second hand 10 years ago, For the past 2 years, it has been loaned to 3 beginner glider pilots in my club, and there it has had a rough ride.
So now it was time for a fast repairs, to get it up to date again for the next beginner glider pilot :) To remove the electronics on this glider is a real pain, so I decided not to do it. But you are right, it could have been done better :)

Don't need to take all innards out. Dust and debris are the only possible problems ... But the vacuum cleaner does miracles ! As a matter of fact it is the most used tool in my skylab 😉

I love it! great low-tech vacuum bagging with the clear tape! Who's epoxy did you you use? Have you ever had to repair the Melges like that? must have been a pretty cool hit to do that! Thanks for posting this, I'm sure I'll need to do repairs soon, the AH Sky Electric will maiden tomorrow, wish me luck! Franz in NJ USA

The epoxy is airplane epoxy from my former work :) and we only crashed the Melges once but then the insurance took care of it ;) Good luck with the maiden flight.
