Just purchased these from yourselves for my summer hikes. This video helped immensely and now looking forward to testing them in the hills in the near future 👍
Thank you very much for a very informative review. I have a question. Is the mid-sole spongy like in running shoes or hard like in hiking boots? Many thanks.
The midsole is firmer than a running shoe but not as firm as you'd find in a traditional hiking boot, it sits in a middle-ground between them for more responsive cushioning if you are moving a little faster, but still more support than you'd get from a soft runner.
It's all personal preference I'm afraid. For a shoe, they are incredibly stable, however some will require more ankle support, some won't. It also depends on how technical the terrain is. We'd recommend trying a pair on with the weight you've described and see how they feel (inside).
No one has ever explained goretex that simply before. I have always just figured it was magic. Thank you for this. (I still prefer my tea in the harbor)
This review does not show the one thing I find most important, i.e how the shoe works in action. How flexible is the sole, she could have simply flexed the sole to show that.
It's a bit stiff and it feels unstable. I liked how it looked. it's gorgeous but the front portion seems to taper toward the front, which makes it feel like it's unstable. I am doing some running on very uneven terrain and it feels like it doesn't offer any protection from twisting the ankle. It was a no for me.
Bought these after watching the review. Absolutely live up to expectations. Beautiful shoe. Has held up very well.
need comment review after use , what happen now ?

Hi Anthony, glad to be of service and I'm sure you'll enjoy many comfortable miles in your lovely new Arcteryx shoes.
Amazing review. Good explanation of all the layers and materials.
Thanks so much!
I wonder why only 36 thumbs up, amazing review!
Great video! The Mother of reviews.

What's the heel to toe drop in these shoes? Excellent review!
The heel drop is 10mm. Kind regards, Harry.
Would these suffice for "light" loads of maybe 11-12kg for 5 day backpacking treks?

Would these be good for trail running?
They'll do the job but there are better options specifically for trail running. Arc'teryx have their 'Norvan' range for that. Harry

We're not sure what the tea in the harbour bit means, but thank you!

Would these work for wide feet with bunions
Probably not, but it's hard to say without actually seeing in person. If you can, visit us in Hereford and book a professional footwear fit. Harry
how do these handle cool to cold weather?
Absolutely fine, but it depends how cold and which socks you're wearing.
