Fun fact: a few weeks later, Conan hired this guy as a production assistant, and this basically kickstarted this dude's career. He went on to do PA work for a bunch of other shows and eventually became a producer for SNL and won a primetime Emmy. Conan deserves huge props for basically giving this guy a career.
@@ProLGL Looks like it is! Christopher Voss is the name (not the FBI guy that'll show up). I found an article that was close to this, and his LinkedIn corroborates it as well. He did work for the BBC prior to NBC but still cool.
They were probably unable to run the cables from one floor to another. I suspect most of it was filmed before the show. Conan's voice changes right after the cut at 2:27. It feels like he's trying to get the energy up at that moment, just like you would at the beginning of filming, so that's probably where they switch.
Big heavy cameras plus these are wired, so heavy cable which needed to be kept out of the way. You can see a guy trying to keep it to the side when they double back after getting snacks from the canteen. They’re doing numerous things at once whilst keeping focus on Conan and Chris not easy at all!
I know this was probably preplanned or atleast the path was because of how many cuts there were in the staircases but man the idea of someone picking up the cable and winding it back up as they run around a building is so funny to me
Thanks for posting! I'm guessing Brian wasn't actually on air when they did this as I couldn't find a clip but if anyone knows different please leave a link!
Was Brian Williams actually live or was it just staged? I mean I'd get if it was staged, but I also wouldn't be surprised about Conan just interrupting a live show.
This had to be the most influential moment of Chris's life because he now works as a producer on SNL and runs marathons (I went to highschool with Chris, nicest guy in the world)

That is amazing
@@JollyGiant19 The BBC stuff actually came after. Conan was first.
Give the dude a little credit lol
Props to the camera guys, running up those stairs with heavy cameras must have been brutal.

they cut to the other camera already waiting on the next floor
@@FinnGambleyou can literally see the cable running down the stairs at 5:49. And they obviously cut between camera people on different floors
@@FinnGamble or, hear me out, they used a wireless camera?
@@bluntdude you can see the cable in the video.
I love how they asked the news anchor if it was ok to take a picture, and then Chris ends up taking a pic of Conan and the Anchor.
Dude Chris handled that like a boss!
The dude who drank the water, .. now has herbes 😢😓
I would be shaking and out of breath.. I get scared when people pay attention to me 😓 also get tired easily 😓
Like a Voss
If you pause exacty at 4:15 you can see the cameraman's leg fly up at the bottom left. They probably cut right before he fell over lol.
4:14
Absolute gem of a clip!! WOW.
Looks like Chris ended up becoming a producer on SNL several years later, from 2015-2023. What a story
NO F*CKING WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY bro that's so f*cking awesome lmfao so happy for him fr fr
Really? What's his last name?

I love how he handed someone the water he drank from and the guy paused and then went "eh might as well"
3:53 This when Chris said “I love you, Conan”
props to Conan for picking his guys so well, Chris is so eager and starry-eyed this whole time, he seems so genuinely grateful to have been picked
This segment was just pure gold lol
THAT WAS SO F*CKING COOL that dude is NEVER forgetting that sh*t 😭 core memory right there fr fr
fr fr fr
The memory is so good that it gave him a career. Mike Voss was eventually hired by Conan and became a producer on the tonight show and SNL
ong its so f*cking cool rite bruh fr fr ong no cap rizz
@marz_mitzi you sound like a npc.
This is why Conan rules…
Chris took flight he was moving so fast to keep up with Conan’s redwood tree legs 😂
Good job Chris! Wherever you are...
Police have yet to find the body.
@@HOTD108_ One shouldn't in ANY WAY try to steal Conan's thunder.
Chris has some good comedic timing! Grabbing the cup, saving the water for the last.
Very funny how the camera man couldn't keep up as they were coming back up!
To be fair, running while carrying one of those heavy cameras must be hard, lol
Yeah especially if you can't focus on your feet because he was probably trying to focus on keeping them in frame

😂 the legendary camera man couldn't keep up with Conan O'Brien damn.
Thanks for uploading old Conan. He's the man.
Well someone had to since Conan can't
They should bring him on Conan’s podcast
This was the original “showing my baby places they haven’t seen before”
LMFAO HE WAS SO EXCITED AND WHOLESOME I LOVE THAT LUCKY ASS GUY
LMAO ITS SO WHOLESOME fr fr BRUH RIZZ fr
That guy from the audience actually drank the water. That was actually from someone's desk half drank. LoL.
This was so wholesome. I miss this era of TV 🥺
Chris was great, don't know if he was just pre screened or a plant but either way a lot of fun.
I always enjoyed Conan's energy and antics.
I agree, comedy is better than news. Conan was and is a genius
This was amazing television
I could only imagine the camera guy tracking a massive length of cord behind him, but there it is at 6:46
I know this was probably preplanned or atleast the path was because of how many cuts there were in the staircases but man the idea of someone picking up the cable and winding it back up as they run around a building is so funny to me
(real Story: a guest canceled: hilarity ensues)
that was ridiculous! So entertaining!
The way cameraman had to run around with them is absolutely crazy!!
6:46 we can see the real reason they have been swapping cameras isn't just because they were heavy but also they were wired
Love Conan
There are many legendary Conan segments, but this is perhaps the most elegantly simple one. Just gold.
What a fun memory for that guy
Oh ye who uploads these awesome clips, ye are the man😂
This would've been the most amazing experience EVER!
I’m exhausted just watching that. Funny as hell!
I love Conan O'Brien more than any other human being on this Earth.⭐👊🏻💓✌
Holy shit that was actually insane !!!
Damn, I didn't know Mitt Romney dropped out!
I have lots of seconds😂😂 what a workout haha
Thanks for posting!
I'm guessing Brian wasn't actually on air when they did this as I couldn't find a clip but if anyone knows different please leave a link!
I looked for the same.
Conan would never interrupt a live broadcast. This was pre planned between him and Brian Williams.
Considering they had a separate camera person in their studio already ready to go, yeah definitely preplanned.
Was Brian Williams actually live or was it just staged? I mean I'd get if it was staged, but I also wouldn't be surprised about Conan just interrupting a live show.
10 months old video yet most of the comments are new. Wonder what made this video pops up on everybody’s UA-cam just now.
"Mind if we get a picture?"
then Conan hands Chris the camera. that was funny.
1:35 the lady in yellow has ashes. It was Ash Wednesday
4:12, did the camera person fall too??
Yeah, you can see the guy's leg bottom left of frame at 4:15 lol.
Can't believe they let that audience member drink the water. lol
Pre-covid
If only you could upload every episode that aired when the whole Leno thing started
Why is this episode listed twice? They call it the "Conan Beard Special" on it's second run for that year
Absolute fucking genius.
poor camera man 😆
I love Mac Swineberg.
HOW TF DID THE CAMERAS GO THAT FAR WITH THEM CORDS????
Camera man had a hard fall.. though....
Not really random it was the closest possible person.
