Honestly it looks a lot better this way.
A great way to kick off 2014 XCAR. Amazing car and great video as usual. I personally love Targa top styled cars. Can't do full convertibles.

This is an astonishing car, but isn't it a bit big and heavy for a lotus?
I mean you can clearly see what they try to achieve, make it more accessible for the mainstream, otherwise they probably won't be on the market much longer.
But isnt it sad that they have to sell out to stay alive? :(

pretty heavy...a Alfa Romeo 4C is now the better Lotus...
but it lacks a manual gearbox...
have to see it for myself...but I'm afraid you're right...what is your alternative to a lotus? I'd like to have an streetlegal radical...but it's not suited for everyday use and is expensive too...still you get alot for your money...
Well it's always a different experience when you are actually standing in front of it and drive it. And if it still doesnt suit you, you can still get a mk2 exige or something like that, I'd say thats as Lotus as it can get.
Haven't read all of the comments, but in case it hasn't been said before, the elise softtop is almost directly interchangeable with the removable roof panel on the S2 exige. Pick up a 2nd hand softtop from an elise, and hey you have an S2 exige roadster. Just saying :)

English isn't my mother tongue, but it sounded a bit dirty :D But I have to say, exige does look like it is going to shank me.
This is one of my favorite cars to have come out in the last couple years. The proportions are incredible and that rear-end has a sweet, old-school supercar vibe to it. Thank you, XCAR!

The main reason I love lotus has to be the fact that they understand a sports car isn't just lots of power, it's about handling and the experience you get when you drive it. Simples eh?

They managed to make a convertible thats only half a convertible... I dont get the looks of this car at all... I want a full convertible with a long luxury eluding hood....like Rolls or Bentley but more style....

At 6'6" I'd have to wear this car as a shoe. It's brilliant, don't get me wrong, I'm not knocking the car, but it's dinky and I'm not.

Nice video, the cabin looks pretty small. Never been in an Exige before so can't really get a proper grasp of it's dimensions inside. Do you guys think you'll be able to do a 4C video? And if so it would be cool to get some comparisons and advice on it's every day.. ness lol! Keep them coming!

sounds awesome and devastates anything in its price range. i don't know what you're on about, who cares where the engine was before? lotus is about handling and track times, not about good looking specs on paper...

I think its now even easier to tell the difference since more than just the roof is different. the elise and exige look completely different now

The interior is so dry compared to other luxurious roadsters.
That's because it's not really supposed to be a luxo roadster. It's a Lotus. It's meant to be a track toy first, and than a road car.
