Thankyou Philmont! You and your staff have made memories of a lifetime yet again.

Great video, thanks for sharing!
Outstanding. Philmont memories do last a lifetime.
I went there back in the late sixties. I was alone in a group of scouts that were from two or three different Troops. Our stout "Master" was from one of the troops and he got disqualified because of high blood pressure. So we had two different total strangers take over for segments of the course. There were a few guys I liked and a few that I hated. When ever it was my turn to fetch water, the task was an ordeal. The first time, we were at a dry camp on a ridge top and I had to hike down off the ridge top to the valley below, a couple of miles each way and haul two, two and a half gallon jugs back up onto the ridge. Where one of the guys I didn't get along with purposely wasted water for his own use. The second time I had to get the water, there was a stock tank with a wind mill that I had to use because someone had stolen the pump handle. So I had to climb up of the windmill and turn the blades by hand because there was also not enough wind to spin the blades. I was up there for well over an hour hanging on to the tower with one arm and spinning the blades with the other. When we got enough water and I climbed down, I was covered with grease. The A-holes wouldn't let me clean up because I might use too much water. The next camp was supposed to have a shower facility but when we got there, a previous group had burned it down. I do wish I could go and camp there again without a group of entitled teenage A-holes.
I was there for a few years in the early’80s, I have such wonderful memories and would love to go back and visit some day ❤
Was at Philmont around 55'56, awesome adventure. Chartered bus from Connecticut via St Louis to Raton. Bus back two weeks later via Little Rock with a weekend in Washington, D.C!
2019. 723-N. South country. Thank you for posting this. Our troop has a 2024 trek and we’re going to use this to frame the crew’s expectations.
Hope you have a great trek!
612-D4 fucking 2009. South country. I wanna go back.
My crew was your sister crew.
629-P-01. You guys appear to be North country while my crew was south country. These memories really do last a lifetime. I WANT TO GO BACK TO PHILMONT!
1971 for me
Glad my bus tour made the cut!
Had to include it... it was a great transition from Base life to Trail life... :) Thanks for kicking off the adventure and memories @ philmont
