We are in the same growing zone as your property and those last couple hard frosts turned our potato leaves black but they came back too. Natures pretty awesome. If later you want a water source for the garden you can place a couple 250 gallon totes to catch the rain (as long as there is some) and add a hose where the on/off valve is. We bought 50 gallon plastic barrels, but sold them and got the totes. Far easier and more water. 😊
