Hello Dennis enjoyed the video.. For what’s its worth I have learned and put to use a lot of your ideas in the past year and every one has helped me a lot with accuracy. One of those was using tow. I had no idea what it was until you mentioned it. It sure works for me. I do appreciate each and every of one of your videos and your experience.
@@timharrison744 And I appreciate you for watching and sharing your thoughts. I had heard of tow for a long time but never made the effort to acquire any until a viewer in Arizona prodded me i n to it. We all start somewhere.
Good video Mr. Dennis My motto is: Believe nothing that you hear Believe half of what you see And believe ALL THAT YOU EXPERIENCE!! I had a tough year but was Blessed to be able to hunt a lot and did get a decent 🦌 I was hunting..
Thanks for the loading info and thoughts. I will be testing with it soon. You have to get our age to sit back and enjoy the coffee and the view. Harvest isn't really my goal anymore. The moment is what counts.
You got to do what works best for you even if it flies in the face of conventional wisdom. At least you aren't one of those hunters who shoot everything they see. I drew down on a doe once in archery season at about 15 yards. About the time I was to take the shot, a yearling came up and started nuzzling her. I couldn't take the shot. Enjoyed the video.
@@UncleSasquatchOutdoors I hunted nearly every day for 4 months. Enjoyed every minute of it. Hunting is hard to explain to non hunters. Why do we hunt if we don’t like killing animals? I feel sorry for every animal that I take. But I go again and again. I am sure you know the feeling. Take care my friend.
even here in ms as far away as you are. the time from just before christmas till 4 days after new year i saw almost no deer. now as of 1/6 movement has picked up. i went from 8 or 10 pics a night to 150 last night and im seeing deer every morning getting ready for work and when i go home every day this week so far. as for as that muzzle loader accuracy i watched you kill a turkey at like 70 yards. with a flintlock thats pretty incredible. i'd say you've figured out what works for your gun.
@@murdok1100 It can be rather fascinating trying to figure out the whys of deer movements. It could even be as my friend Jack once said, “The deer might have a pattern, but I don’t think even they know what it is.” He could be right.
I have two muzzle loaders, one is a civil war era I required from someone that owed me money, another I bought from a guy, I was a big time bow hunter, but since age is catching up with me and I can’t bow hunt anymore, I’m wanting to muzzle loader hunt. Both are percussion cap.
@ My brother has a flint lock and he has killed deer with it, but percussion cap is what I have and will probably use in the future. Our muzzle loader season runs to the 16th and in two of the counties I own property we can shoot a buck if tags aren’t filled, the ranch in west Texas is spikes and does, you can hunt with a rifle. The main thing I like to do is get out and look. I’m going to put up a nice stand at home, not as nice as yours. It’s an old raggedy one there now.
Dennis, do you ever sell any of your Savage 99's?. I had one from my father for many years until it was stolen! Stay warm and healthy. I'm sittin' here drinking coffee with you. Wish I could be hunting with ya!
I find that most experts simply regurgitate what they have heard. Not what they have personally experienced. But many are quick to throw stones at something, or someone, they don’t know. The top of the heap are the ones that tell you how to make a video, but have never posted a single one. But , nevertheless, they are still experts. Sort of like the media and social media expert fact checkers. But those poor ignorant souls, like you and I, just keep plodding merrily along, as happy as if we had good sense. Keep on keeping on my new found friend.
Thanks for another good one Boss! Boy, that buck sure was rutty! Really dark tarsal glands and I noticed a couple of the doe still running carmel tarsals as well.
@@ernestfuller1868 I use tow but most anything will work. A cotton patch, bees nest, grass, anything pretty much. Tow is traditional and period correct for the 1700’s.
