I'm 90% certain that is the same tree that Shad tested axe throwing against. That also makes me 90% certain that it will be the #1 enemy of Shad, Tyranth, and crew in the event of an Ent uprising.
@@superkamehameha1744 Is that the same tree? I think the quest tree was a different one. Still, it doesn't do to get all the Ents riled up against you.
Bro I can’t believe how legendary that thing performed. Between the gashes and deep tree cuts I’m astounded it accomplished so much with so little of it being blade. Especially it dynamically making sure it lands even on the off ends is gnarly
The United cutlery version does fold and lock, it has pride of place in my collection. 420 stainless with a beautiful presention/display Plaque included 👍
Suggestion: make a selection of functional thrown weapons from fantasy and reality (stilletos, daggers, chakram, javelin, kunai, etc) and see which is easier to land on target. Obviously those weapons would all have different masteries, but, well you do you in any case.
Tyranth, if your into 90's Dark Urban Fantasy, check out the World of Darkness (Anything not V5 etc) But it is literally just Gothic-Punk, Dark Urban Fantasy, Gothic Horror where you get to be the Monster. (Calling it now your either a total Gangrel, Brujah or a Gritty Toreador as far as VtM goes.)
As for this working: Told you so! ... in the comments of the batarang OTR video. A spinning blade "rolling" the sharp tip into the target just works. I don't think i've ever told you this. Thank you for recording in usable framerates (60 or 50). I'd like to watch videos where movements are smooth and the choppy parts are left to the weapons.
So far, ALL these tests are more about Tyranth's ability to use them more than the weapon's ability to work. AND so far, Tyranth is an amazing Hawkeye level weapon master! LOL
The more you do of these, the more I want to watch a ranking stream of your favorites to least favorites. Also, I'm leaning especially Magnificent for this one. 😍😍
Blade from Wish with glitter may just send the internet into a new kind of (not)Twilight frenzy! The self correcting aim in the design was truly surprising. Amazing demo and result! Perhaps the inner sharp blade or handle could be improved to make it safer to use/ throw?
Maybe it could be improved a little but I kinda already made the inner handle longer than the movie versions it’s very good at being thrown but not the most safe simple because one blade is always facing the thrower 👍🏼
I actually own the replicas of all the Blade glaives and the sword, the glaives fold up which looks pretty cool but throwing them would break them. Now I feel compelled to make a non folding one too 😁👍
I'm happy you like my questions. 😉🤣 Love the humor you use in between the fabricating and testing. 😊 Damn, that thing is lethal. Musical greetings from Belgium, Gunther (singer and lyrics writer of Gabriel Scar)
The original glaive is sharp on the outside and inside curves. The way it is thrown is with the outside curve facing towards the target for a slashing cut. You should try that.
Makes sense. The curves of the blade kind of redirect the force of the weapon causing rotation on impact, thus penatration is highly probable no matter the distance so long as we have enough force. Simply, curves go brrrrrrrrr
I have been baffled in the same way First time I caught an arrow in the air (not perfect bow but still), and I was so close to screaming my lungs out Well done man, way to go!! 💪🏼👍🏼👌🏼
You know, after testing, I looked at it and it reminded me of the art for the "Balanced throwing knife" from Diablo 2. But it's been so long since I played that particular game that I could be way off. In any event, the similarity makes me think its success is not too far off base.
I'd say the "problem" the water bottle test revealed is that when you throw it "sideways" you're aiming it's center mass at the target, so while the blades do clip the target, the middle section blunt force traumas the target rather then the blades penatrating the target. If you throw it like a throwing knife, than it's the blade that primarily strikes the target instead of the handle.
The fact that a portion of the blunt edge of one blade hitting first causes the tip of the other blade to strike the target probably makes this easier to stick in the target than if the outer edges were sharp instead of the inner.
It's relatively the same principle as a shrunken. Then two blades you used were from a brush axe(at least that what they are called in the u.s.a.) they are used to remove brush in the same manner as a sickle is used for cutting wheat in the field.
The Blade's blade is a great tool for philosophy. When you are pointing one blade of the Blade's blade towards a vampire the other blade from a Blade's blade is pointing towards you.
don't suppose I could interest y'all in testing the glaive from DARK SECTOR. 50% more individual blades, probably more than double the actual cutting surface.
The fun part about throwing knives is that they don’t need to be sharp. They just need to be pointy. The weight alone is enough to drive the knife deep into the target.
Another great video, congratulations. But I think, maybe, my opinion, you got a little something wrong: you said that the outer curve of the blade is blunt, I'm not that sure about that, and moreover, Blade seems to throw it with that curve forwards, that is, holding the glaives in the opposite direction than you do. You throw it with the top blade's tip ahead, and he throws it with that tip backwards. Also, doing so, he keeps the lower blade's tip away from his wrist, minimizing the danger that you mentioned. Maybe that way you could throw them holding the handle as he does in the movie. Maybe you could make a second video with sharpened outer curves? Anyway, I love yout vids.
This is basically a double headed throwing sickle, shape wise it resembles a number of throwing sticks and like weapons so its honestly not that surprising that it proves effective when used properly.
I predict a rise in the sale of Scythes! Very cool weapon. That action of the blunt side whipping the other point into the target could do with some computer modeling to get the optimum shape to achieve maximum power and penetration.
Would be cool to see different distances, considering how important the exact distance usually is for the rotation (halp, full, etc) of these types of weapons.
when this movie came out i was a little 7 year old white kid in colorado but it instantly transformed me into wesley snipes. i had a plastic katana that i took the tsuba off and everything.
Lol I like them too... Given I do remember back in the day watching a "cable TV" version of blade and he called someone a "drumstick" instead of a dumb ass... I couldn't stop laughing!
Next version: give them single sided edge grinds that are mirrored to make it into a boomerang to see if you can make it come back like the one in the movie (obviously be careful and don’t try to catch it ;-))
Wow!! I'm shocked. I actually own the United Cutlery folding Blade Glaive, with its display plaque and carry pouch. It's a striking piece, never been tempted to throw it though. Id had always considered it a form over function design. Lol how wrong was I 🙂🙃🙂

The real test, is take it to Shad's house and see if Nate can hit Boromir with it.
If he stays on target it will stick in. Otherwise it will stick in one of the 2 trees next to boromir.
This absolutely surprised me. A throwing weapon that actually works well. Impressive.
Any throwing weapon works well if you throw hard enough lol
@@rebelliousgrayfox in my experience that works 30-40% of the time
It's depicted in the movie as a locking blade (at least in the directos cut). Like 2 kerambits together but 1 rotates down.

@@corwinhyatt519 Yeah, been too long for me. The concept of a bend balancing the blade threw me off when I saw it first in that game (pun intended)
It looks like a less odd Kpinga. Really cool to know, sometimes, the movies get something right that we got wrong. Doesn't happen often.
When it *does* happen, it's usually by accident!

the blade shape is similar to the karambit, a proper curve in a blade makes it get some absolutely wild properties

A couple of inches? Thats overpenetration!
Looks like you would need to aim a few inches to one side of the bottle for the slicing action. Hitting dead centre would more likely hit the handle.
