- And now for something unexpected. A Jpop/new age song found in the game. It plays as a distant radio song in many of the in-game shops. Thanks to this, I found out about Genki Rockets, who made this song in the first place. At any rate, hope you enjoyed this soundtrack!

It must’ve been wild playing this on a Wii back in the day.
I did it, it was. I absolutely loved playing this. I remember my dad laughing at me while I was shaking the controller to recharge the lightsaber. "You're so good at it, son" hahaha.
I'm playing No More Heroes III right now, and I gotta say, this franchise was unlike anything I've ever played story-wise.
It's just wild and free, like I was 16 years ago at the age of 24.

Time moves fast, real fast. I've played the GHM games quite recently, so it's all still fresh in my mind; but, just thinking that, someday, the memories of my first playthroughs of these games will be nostalgic already makes me sad. Still, we have to move forward, because that's how we make new memories, and new special places in our heart; like the one I have for all of our sudden encounters in this vast internet, my man!

Don’t know why but this song always made me feel really sad and nostalgic when I heard it in NMH. Just always made me think of friends who left my school and ones who were going to leave my school next year and friendships and happy memories fading away and stuff

I've been playing the PC ports and this plays in Area 51 still, unless it's in another section of the game, you can hear it still blaring over the speaker there iirc.

The song first appeared in Lumines 2. It's a side project of the series' creator, Tetsuya Mizuguchi, mostly featuring the voice of Rachel Rhodes (aka Yasuda Rei), with a bit of Miyahara Nami.
That's an interesting backstory lol, wonder why suda picked it up
@@biggun8801 in 2006ish Genki Robots was as big with Otaku types as Hatsune Miku and other Vocaloid "artists" are now. I mean it could always be another reason but this song was a pretty big deal back then.

So nostaglic man, I hate that this didn't make it to the Switch port. This takes me back to a much simpler, more peaceful time in my life.

I was really looking forward to this on the switch, I know it's not much of a big deal but when I played this on the Wii, hearing this song would always have me in thought and I'd honestly forget I was shopping, sad to see it go.
I hope NMH1+2 get ported to Steam so I can mod this glorious track back into the game. Did the same for that B'z song from Dragon's Dogma when it got released on PC and never looked back. Copyright expiration sucks.

I totally missed this song because the first version of NMH I played was the PS3 HD port. Now I'll never miss again.
This, along with Dearly Beloved from Kingdom Hearts make me feels things I never knew I had. I just turned 18 this year, and things like this just make me realize that my childhood, my summer, my "good 'ol days", are all over. Finally over. Gone.

so i found out something while ripping the music from wii version
apparently this has something like remix 3 for each shop(used heavenly star) that starts at different time/part
potentially unsused(?) cause i never heard it before but maybe its just me
I was under the impression for the longest time that I heard this song in a ps3 game, like Child of Eden or something, and I just found out it was actually just on the radio in No More Heroes.
Digging deeper I did find out though that Mizuguchi created the band so I guess it goes full circle

EDIT: On the K ENT video, someone replied: "It's not a licensing issue, they were overzealous removing Heavenly Star, it will be patched back in. I talked to one of the devs."

Mainly in the clothing store (Area 51) and Naomi's place. It also plays in cutscenes featuring Sylvia when Travis calls her. However, this song only plays in the Wii version and is omitted from the Switch, Amazon Luna, and PC ports of No More Heroes due to licensing issues.

This song played in some of Sylvia's cutscenes when Travis calls her, in the clothing store, Area 51, and when visiting Naomi. Also, in the Japanese and European Wii versions of NMH, a music video of the song can be watched on Travis' television in the motel.
Unfortunately, the Switch, PC, and Amazon Luna versions of the game lack the song entirely due to licensing issues, although it is possible to mod the song back in the PC version I believe.
