In some ways definitely. The speed and explosiveness point fighters need to train is way beyond the level of most MMA fighters. Which makes sense since it's their specialty. Also they use more of an anaerobic energy system with short 2 second bursts followed by rest (just moving around and reading the opponent). Whereas in MMA you need aerobic cardio which point fighters don't train. Also in point karate, you can touch someone at a distance that you wouldn't be able to hit them at since you don't need power (ie to cause damage you need some penetration but if you're just touching you don't need that).

I have two questions. One: I’ve seen your day in the life of Wonderboy (meal plan) and I have to say, that it is IMPOSSIBLE to train that much with that low calories. I eat over 4000 calories every day to be able to train and I’m not even a professional fighter and I train like 12 rounds a day with nobody, in air, and if I don’t eat like that all my joints, muscles are screaming in pain that day and the day after and if I continue this I will surely injure myself, limp., lower back pain, etc., so how do you do it ? How is that possible, cuz you’re shredded and I’m rather stocky more like SweetT 😁? Btw I eat clean and verify my macros, but salads? common man, without huge carb loading there is no chance in hell to resist this sport, and you are bigger than me, I’m 5’9” (180lbs) Second: how do you not develop plantar fascia or any kind of heel chronic tendinitis at your age ? I mean I’m 34 and I have both bone spur at the back of the heel and plantar fascia every day to deal with… can barely train without an every day 45min full yoga stretching hours before training… anyway, you should make a video with common karate long term injuries like foot/heel chronic pain, lower back pain (from kicking) maybe pain from broken bone surgeries and maybe other I don’t know of and how you conquered them… Cheers and great videos, love them! 👍
