you can feel the pride in the way he says it but he is still not cocky or arrogant. wonderboy is a great teacher but also a great example of the right atitude fighters should have .
Izzy breaks down his UFC fights, it's pretty fun to watch. He gives really good honest information aswel as the usual shit talking haha, it's pretty entertaining tbh.
I'm pretty sure it did connect. Watch at :06 on .25 speed. It may have been partially blocked by the gloves, taking a little steam off of it, but you can see it clearly spin his head around.
I could've told you that. I got my jaw dislocated playing football when I was eleven cause I had a double mouthpiece and I couldn't keep my jaw closed tight enough and I got hit and it dislocated. I didn't ha e to have surgery but I did have it wired shut for 6 weeks for it to heal properly. So yea don't ever get a double mouthpiece they don't work as well as you might think
You know at 38 years of age, Wonderboy still has them same skills, I really want to see him with that WW title before he even thinks about retirement 😂! True Martial artist!! 🇺🇸🥋
He's so much better now than he was, it's ridiculous. He's way faster, and is basically unreadable compared to he was in his early kickboxing career. But yeah he needs to go beat up Usman.
‘I was wondering why my mouth piece was so salty’ I can relate. A few years ago I competed in judo and had a guy defending an armbar while I was off my back 4 minutes into overtime. He was so tired a big drop of sweat fell off his forehead and landed directly in my mouth. I can still taste the salt.
This is really awesome! As a casual mma watcher (ufc predominantly) it's really interesting to see a fighter break down/react to their own old fights. Much better than someone from the outside. It's also interesting to hear you describe your mindset since that's such a specific thing that anyone who is just curious but not enough to become a pro fighter would never understand without the experience of actually being in a cage. @M D Well, in boxing, my son's legendary coach: Frank Gentile, would scold guys by saying: "Look, do ya wanna be a body builder? a power lifter?.......or do ya wanna be a good boxer, because if you keep lifting weights, you need to leave, because I will NOT be training you to box anymore".....end quote. Frank was a golden gloves national champion and former head coach for the US Olympic boxing team. He also trained both of his sons to become national champions. Just sayin'. But of course mma has various disciplines vs straight-up boxing.
@M D I'm no wonderboy but I think learning martial arts or self defense is good for anyone, if you're really into lifting you might be a little slower but who cares? Everyone sucks when they first start anything
@M D all the best do some form of weight training, bench isn't that compatible with martial arts because most upper body strength use in grappling is pulling or holding like clinching but the deadlift and squat are very applicable, more so in terms of volume though not so much heavy singles. Don't listen to people who say being stronger will make you slower, theres a reason it's called strength and conditioning not just strength.
@M D and in terms of boxing where there is no clinching the lower body strength and core strength from deadlifts and squats will benefit you but same thing goes for bench non applicable as you throw punches with your hips and torso rotation not your upper body. I personally still do bench but I will only do it half as much as I train shoulder press.
