    I’m coming from the old days where I was loading scsi samples into a 3 KurzweiIs…had all the best of the sample libraries….I was always disappointed to a degree with the outcomes….played everything with 10 fingers ….here we are in 2024 and I have to say these Virharmonic samples have finally made me completely satisfied….
    I want to Thank the team at Virharmonic for taking the time and money to get it right 💪
    They are simply astonishing 💥

    Thank you so much for this helpful video. I was looking for a video explaining, how the Bohemian Cello actually works and can be used properly. But man.. I am absolutely baffled by the sound quality of this one! It sounds so authentic and it's very playable so you don't have to engineer your way through the MIDI jungle. Same goes for the Bohemian Violin.

      I got one question tough... Do you set a negative delay on the bohemian tracks? I experience some audible attack time (like in other libraries) but didn't found any infos on that. @@hifimidi

      @@roieshpigler You can program only expression, but you can assign it to any CC you want. Not exactly as the same as other libraries, but it works for me 👍🏼

    Nice. I'd love to hear what you think of Trio Brohs by Fluffy Audio. I'm assuming you were using a modeled cello before, but that's what keeps me from buying another one; my modeled solo instruments are so customizable. But, I haven't reached your level of expertise to demand more.

    You technically can change the dynamic by turning on crafting and changing the midi cc to the mod wheel :)

    Can you make an update to the video using expression on the modulation we'll. You can use the modulation wheel for expression. You have to click the little circle shape on the top right corner. Then go to find controls you will see expression cc on. Then choose cc1. Now your modulation wheel will use expression.

    Super helpful demo! I'm shopping for a good VI cello that a non-cellist can create reasonably good cello parts with. It's often hard to get a feel for how a VI works before buying it, and I think I have a good feel for how this one works now, so that's awesome. Thanks!

    Nice review! I've had the older cello and violin revisions for some time. On one hand, it's quite wonderful that the creators have managed to do a good job at predicting the performance characteristics needed at any particular time in your performance. On the other hand, the quirky tonality of the sounds produced are very good and lovable. But honestly, they take a considerable backseat to the state of the art libraries such as VSL Synchron, for example, if one is working in the top pro echelon. Maybe a good characterization of the sound produced is Mellotron++. That is, one cannot have top pro sound quality, but can very well have a very lovable sound none-the-less, as one can have using any Mellotron string rendition.

    • @hifimidi
      @hifimidi  Рік тому

      While I agree with the first part of your thoughts, I disagree about it taking a backseat to VSL Synchron. First off, VSL doesn't have a Synchron Solo Cello, only the Synchron-ized version, which is the Solo Cello from their Vienna Instrument days. It's a good cello, but it better suited for classical playing. It certainly is easier to control, but it arrives with a sterile sound which you have to program a lot to make it sound believable.

    • @coldsteelprogressive
      @coldsteelprogressive Рік тому

      @@hifimidi Yes, my comments about the comparison to VSL Synchron were regarding how well the sound produced resembles a top notch string performance and recording rather than being specifically about a solo cello. Virharmonics are in general a good step forward, but in my opinion, just a bit short of perfection. Still, as I said, they are a must have for the string specialist and are very lovable.
