What do you think about selecting the neutral just before we stop the car as many drivers do? I personaly select neutral only when the car is fully stoped? The video is amazing as always, thank you for this video.
We prefer to wait until we are actually stopped, as we should always keep a gear selected when moving - in case we change our mind and need to continue driving. Selecting neutral before stopping will be given a fault in the test, so we would advise against it.
I wanted to ask, what about reversing. do you use clutch or brake first? for parking area : because I don't use accelerate at all, only used clutch then the car can move for only parking areas and apparently I had foot on clutch, not fully in and used brake first to stop the car. been told to by driving instructor.
Say for an example your coming to a traffic light , you start to brake, but then the light changes to green as your still moving meaning you don’t have to fully stop , does this mean I can come off both the clutch and brake and straight back to the accelerator or do I still have to find the bite point ?
You will need to consider whether the gear you have selected is suitable for your speed. If it is, gently lift the clutch pedal (to match the engine speed to the wheel speed) and continue driving. Otherwise, change to a better gear before lifting the clutch 👍🏼
for breaking I brake first then clutch for gears as I'm taught that and gas then bite from your channel .depending on the situation I'll keep watching and happy new year. will you be doing videos during lockdown ?
I learned, in the case of an emergency braking, you should press the clutch first and brake shortly afterwards (almost simultaneous). The reason being, if you slip the brake pedal into the gas pedal, you wouldn't accelerate more.
Do I need to always put the car in first gear before stopping? Or I can stop the car in any gear by just pressing down the clutch before stopping? 🙇♂️
I think because just in case you car is in gear and you forgot to put it in neutral.....so leting go clutch first you will know...and since youve not let go break pedal the car won't move much
Driving is a bit like other skills (such as playing a musical instrument) in that it’s impossible to be perfect. Instead, focus on being the best driver you can be, and learn from any mistakes you make. 👍🏼
Pushing the clutch down too early is potentially dangerous, as it can affect car control. Here is another video that explains why: ua-cam.com/video/UT9c4QwZd7c/v-deo.html 👍🏼
Hi great video thanks! My instructor told me that you should break and then put the clutch down when you drop below “gear speed”, eg. In the car I’m learning in 2nd is approx 8-21mph, so if I’m going say 25mph I’ll break until about 21 then put the clutch down. My question is does this 1000 revs relate to where the gear speed is roughly? Ie, you’d be doing 1000 revs at about 21mph in 3rd gear in my case?
Yes, the minimum speed for each gear is at about 1000rpm so what you are doing is fine. However, gear ratios will vary between cars - which will change the speed for each gear. We find it easier to look for 1000rpm than remember different speeds for every gear (and car!)
We wouldn't recommend doing that, as it is potentially dangerous. This video explain why: How to avoid coasting: ua-cam.com/video/UT9c4QwZd7c/v-deo.html
There is actually a real driving technique that does involve pressing all three pedals at once! Heel & Toe Rev-Matching: ua-cam.com/video/nkKV8ZFEVRg/v-deo.html 👍🏼
We haven’t taken the car to a racing circuit yet. However, Sport mode is exactly the same, except that stability control remains on - far safer on the road.

Neatly explained. Definitely an useful video for everyone.
one of the best videos on this topic and quite relevant for learning to drive.
Greatest explained ever seen and showing each and everything visually is awesome. Thanks guys!
Great video, engine braking is a great skill to master.
Thanks. We made a whole video about ‘engine braking’ here: Acceleration Sense: ua-cam.com/video/-z8CveLub2M/v-deo.html 👍🏼
Very good video, simple and informative. Loving the choice of dramatic music also (lol)

@@AdvanceDrivingSchool when I come to a stop, I always put it in second then up to first as it goes into gear more easily that way.
Very useful, thank you❤

That’s correct. When manoeuvring we just use clutch control, as shown in this video:

Thanks this was very helpful 👍🏽
Thank you for these videos very helpful 🙏🏻

Super important message thanks 👌👏👍
Your videos are amazing.I really thanks to you.
The other thing, I suggest the pedals should be captured in large image thank you.
Thanks that was very helpful
Slow speeds : clutch first, then brake
High speeds : brake first, then clutch
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Love your videos.

Sounds good. Yes, we will keep the videos coming during lockdown 👍🏼
@@AdvanceDrivingSchool I didn't think you was allowed to that's brilliant thank you so much
Can you recommend any advanced level driving courses?
You should contact the IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorists) and see what they can offer in your area.

Ok great. However are they
Recognized nationally, or perhaps globally?
In my case I have passed my test a while back, however would still like to enhance my skills.
They are only in the UK as far as we are aware.
Very knowledgeable

Thats actually wrong! Although it seems logical in emergency stops its break then clutch
for fresh drivers there is logic in the advice.
Very less manual cars now a days.
Nice Car A Ford
I like your Videos
🚗🚗👍👍👍👍👍👍
Do I need to always put the car in first gear before stopping? Or I can stop the car in any gear by just pressing down the clutch before stopping? 🙇♂️
You can stop in any gear - just like we did in this video 👍🏼
ok thanks
i was taught to first let go of the clutch and then brake after ive stopped. why do i need to let go of the pedals in this order?
Either way is fine 👍🏼
I think because just in case you car is in gear and you forgot to put it in neutral.....so leting go clutch first you will know...and since youve not let go break pedal the car won't move much

Personally, when i decide to stop, first i press the clutch fully and then i press the brake, is this correct action?

Perfect
What can I do when my car is going down hill? Am asking please.
Press the brake pedal if you need to slow down. Don’t press the clutch unless you need to change gear or are about to stop!
Which gear can I use when am going down hill
One gear lower than normal for that speed should give enough engine braking. This video might help: ua-cam.com/video/JeXzjRWfqAw/v-deo.html 👍🏼
I've tried manual car found it to hard to learn-)-
Nice video

I have finished all my practical lessons but i always STALL 🤦🏾♂️. How can I improve it?

That is a nice car
after 1st gear up how using clutch,
2nd gear i change stolling
please video full gear up and down

maybe a video about 1 pedal driving in a EV car thx

Can you please start driving school in india, because the way you are explaining is so good
Thanks for the idea - but we are happy to stay here in the UK. At least everyone can watch this channel though!
Clutch first or brake first whn stopping a manual car
Hopefully the video will explain which is usually best. 👍🏼
hi
It's called a tachometer not a rev counter
