I just began a pastel portrait of my mother last night. Your explanation of drawing wrinkles is most informative, as I have mainly worked on dogs and children and have little experience with wrinkles. Thank you so much for this explanation and best wishes to you!

Excellent suggestions. Painting elderly skin can really be a challenge. In my case I sometimes want to paint more how they looked when young. Well I learned my lesson when I sketched my mid aged exhusband but without his scars, early wrinkles gone and fixed his teeth. I tried to say this is what I see but he ripped it up. Lesson learned. Yes seeing what is there and painting it are definitely 2 different things. I found this tutorial when looked up aged skin techniques. Great tutorial!

I think if you focus on the eyes and expressions, that really helps show the person's character rather than the other features of the face 😊

Thanks for this tutorial, I’ve been asked to draw an old lady and I’ve only done animals so far. Can you remember how long this portrait took you to do? I take far too long but I’m hoping to speed up with practice 🤞
I'm honestly not too sure but somewhere between 5-10 hours altogether probably 😊
did u went to art school? and what carrer did u choose before starting youtube. and do u think if a person is really good in marketing, then he can become famous with good art skill?
No I didn't go to art school, I got into architecture at University but took a gap year and never went back - then moved into hospitality management (which was always going to be temporary - not many people want to do that as a career!)
I'm not sure about "famous" but you can do well if you are good at what you do, and are also treating your art business as a business... so learning about marketing and business in general will help make your career more successful
