Grew up in Tazewell for 14 years in my childhood, made me tear up a bit seeing all of this again. Lived on a farm off Leabow Hallow road, best memories of my life. Thank you for this, sir. Made my day.
It’s the railroads and they were worried about it turning into a city so where New Tazewell is where railroads will be and tazewell is where no railroads are is why it’s in half
I moved from Central Indiana in the early 2012 to New Tazewell Tennessee just outside. It was one of the cheapest nicest places I've ever lived the people were very kind and easy-going I never had a cross word with anyone the seven years I lived there. It's just a relatively slow easygoing Community with substantial amounts of factory jobs with large manufacturers nestled in the hills around the outskirts of town large Automotive manufacturers large furniture manufacturer corporations. Plenty of money to be made if you're ready to work hard in your able-bodied. Also a great place to retire as it has a fairly decent tax rate with low state taxes if any. Cheap property rates and cheap utility rates you've got the money and you don't need to be in a big sprawling urban city you like the countryside in a small town to visit for your necessary supplies it's a great Community to live in. It's a short jog from the Tennessee Valley and the Pinnacle area of Tennessee Kentucky and Virginia and just a short jog away from major parts of the tourist parts of Tennessee. Do yourself a favor and visit the area it's fantastic
The worst thing about the Tazewell area is right after that tiny little Walmart there is a trailer court on the right hand side and it is full of drug addicts and drug dealers. It looks like a third world country back there and I don't know why the county hasn't condemned it and closed it down it is a Haven for Crime. It is a definite black eye on the community in the only one to speak of it's a real shame
Thank you so much for making the video! I will be moving to new Tazewell within the next couple of months. The video helped me to understand the layout better.
What a lovely drive that was, love those type of towns so lovely. I really enjoy sharing the drive with you. Thank you so much. Please stay safe and take care
The reason there's tazewell new tazewell is because when the rail road came thru they put the depot where new tazewell is now and the depot was beside the city hall now. They almost moved the county seat there but lone mountain was actually bigger at one time
We used to visit family who lived there every summer. We always stayed in the motel you passed in the early part of your video with the pool by the roadway. Great memories in Tazwell.
When you mentioned this is where New Tazewell begins you where almost 1 mile already into New Tazewell. The New Tazewell SIGN seen in the video at the 3:14 min mark just past the Tazewell Fire Dept which is after Food City.
Arrow heads more than likely were brought from different location with fill dirt that property was not that big before it was built on for long John silvers before KFC.By the way the four lane road you were on was finished in around 1957 .
Very interesting to see that "other" Tazewell in Tennessee. The photo in this video's thumbnail image is Tazewell, Virginia. Come up here and have a look sometime!
This was an interesting little drive , and such a pretty town. Can you tell what the population is for the town ? How close is this to Gatlinburg ? Since you mentioned the football team, what is their team name ? What’s the best breakfast place in Tazewell ? Thanks.
Population is too many lol it's about 2 hours give or take from Gatlinburg, the highschool football team is the Claiborne bulldogs, and best breakfast place Hardee's or McDonald's I guess lol
I enjoyed your video. Is this an area with Conservative Christian Values? ( non woke) How is the medical for seniors and does it have a large drug and homeless problem?
And didn’t even know you were traveling through Taswell you didn’t identify anything when you were in the town I don’t know why you would. I thought we were going to Taz while you didn’t even let us know we were in Taswell or the new Taswell or that we were leaving the town of Taswellterrible video

Two towns because of the location of train depot.
High school was Claiborne County High.
He was following behind my daddy's truck

How is it there so far? I am looking at New Tazewell.
People in tazewell did not want a railroad to come through the town- new tazewell wanted the railroad that's why they split it
