Would love to see an episode on expensive clothing that you regret/wasn't the quality you would have hoped for. The Acronym J1A-GTKP just always looks incredible to me, if anything is worth paying Acronym prices for its that, its got those snazzy vibes in abundance.
12:50 I so don't agree about smart watches. They offer a bunch of extra functionality you don't really need while failing at being a watch properly. After wearing a smartwatch the last 5 years, I found myself defaulting to using it like a regular watch, at which it is subpar. The constant need for charging is what gets me. A good casio solar waveceptor you don't have to ever worry about charging, winding, moving or swapping batteries for 10 years and you won't have to worry about resetting the time either. From a pure practical standpoint, it's the way to go.
The Death Stranding jacket is definitely a keeper. It's just the best of both worlds : gaming and clothing done very very well, couldn't have asked for more. I hope to see more of that in the future. The P30A-DS and Enfin Levé are also classics. And I love the G-shock, despite it being a quartz. You've got a bunch of solid pieces right there.
Love the point about elevated staples being worth it! For me that piece was a Veilance Doeln Coat - I know a lot of people don't think much of it, but it was a surprise hit for me and got me into the greyman aesthetic, as opposed to the typical styles all over my social media feeds.
dude I love that you love your style and this trend, it is completely not my style, but I often watch your videos because they are cool and you are knowledgeable and enthusiastic, always do you man, absolutely killin it.
Those balenciaga glasses look like the safety glasses I used to wear at work. I work on an oil rig. Might be another pair. You can find em at marks for like 15$.
A video for all the stuff that wasn’t worth is actually a great idea !!! It’s easy to get carried away if you’re just starting out and buy things that are maybe on sale or you saw it on the ‘gram but then it’s not really up your comfort zone
Damn right bro! The J1 Death Stranding Jacket...AND your video of it, will always be top tier, without a doubt worth it! Honestly, if I had cash to splash, that's the first jacket I'd get on eBay without hesitation! Great video as always Antwon!
Completely off topic, but I was playing Ghostwire Tokyo and was surprised Riot Division being featured! They even put some clothing in as equippables and I'm really happy to wear them, in the video game (and in real life too, I suppose).
Hah, I saw MATN doing a playthrough of the first half hour of Ghostwire and as soon as the cutscene with the bad guys pops up I thought 'Oh man the styling' - I think I tweeted Antwon a link 'You might dig the fashions here' 😅
Shout out to cheap watch collecting! I got into the habit a few years ago of hunting down engraved Elektronikas (Soviet Casio knockoff) and it's a load of fun. Also don't sleep on beater Timex's, some really cool watches floating around there too.
I was recently at the Arc'teryx Outlet store here in Vancouver and I picked up 2 Unreleased "Nomin" Sample bags (a briefcase and a backpack) for ~$1300CAD. 10000% worth it. Very mysterious
would love to see a biggest regrets video but also a "surprising value" one. You've mentioned Uniqlo tees a bunch but I'm sure there'd be some pieces on there that you wore way more than you were expecting. Also curious if you've changed yr mind on anything you've reviewed!
Great suggestion - I think that Uniqlo x Kaws tee might be top of the list but there are definitely a bunch of things I bought relatively cheaply or on sale that I've gotten a ton of wear from. Often it is those basic pieces that you don't wanna commit full price to but once you've got them they're super easy to wear
I think the piece of clothing I’ve got the most value out of was my CP soft shell. Water resistant, warm wool lining, great zip pockets, and easy to wear while playing sport due to its fit and breathability
if you liked the veilence frame tees might i suggest the 72 hour tee by proof. Same fabric blend, way more colors, stitching is so smooth and built to last, not to mention they’re only about $80 per tee so a little cheaper than the frame tees
Similarly the REI Merino Wool base layers. I also got the Frame Polo but for 48 on outlet (red) and 100 normal price they are brilliant. Merino is quite cheap now as it's out of season.
The G-Shocks are real noice, been thinking of getting a clear one. I don't usually wear a watch, but I do have a vintage Casio A168WA-1YES attached to my Orbitgear bag :D
I really feel that throw away comment "a lot of people interested in fashion are creatively minded to some degree". There is way more truth to this than I thing you even realize. Look at the Meyers Briggs personality test for example. The third category is Thinking/Feeling, what most people don't understand about MBTI is that both your high score and your low score are important. Thinking and Feeling are the two personality traits that create 'artistic understanding'. Basically an artist has a feeling and then uses thinking to express it. I feel sad so I make a sad song, right? When you look at an outfit and feel that it looks good, you are literally performing the same mental process. Fashion is art we wear, when we take any time to think about how the fit feels to us in order to make it look better, well that makes us artists too... ahem after a fashion
Definitely want to see the opposite video. Also the J1A is literally the only thing I'd ever be willing to pay Acronym prices for. The only Acronym branded anything I own are the Nike X Acronym Blazers because as a 3D printing enthusiast how could I NOT? Would also love to see the alternate version of this video too. The cheapest things you don't regret buying, like those SingleRoad pants from Alibaba & whatnot.
Big seconding to the full metal GSHOCK piece, I bought the black steel GMW-B5000GD-1ER in late 2019, and would have been 100% happy had they not released the incredibly cyber aesthetic GMW-B5000CS-1ER with the grid design a couple years later. Now I have both of these I am ABSOLUTELY NOT going to even look at the Mech-Inspired / Heavily Labelled GMW-B5000TVA-1ER (also each one of these has been more expensive than the last, and the latest one ringing in at just under fifteen hundred quid is just too rich for a third watch )
Haha I totally get what you mean, that titanium one looks awesome but no way I'm spending that much for a relatively minor upgrade. The grid patterned version is super nice too
100% Agree on the sunglasses point. Back in 2013 I saw Daou on r/malefashion with a pair of the Kuboram x Julius M7 glasses and they'd be one of my grails since. Finally picked them up on Grailed for about $450 last year, and was very hesitant to where them the first few weeks. Now they're my go to daily wear, and with them on I feel more confident to pull off more outlandish pieces (looking at you Demobaza...)
I bought a Stone Island Waterproof Wool jacket used for 450€, that was really worth the money. And I got Salomon BBS Bamba 2 High for only 230€ on Sale ;)
One of the things that I've gotten the most bang out of is my M56 helmet, which was actually almost my first real fashion purchase period. It serves as an outing piece because a lot of my friends are photographers, so they get an interesting model and I get an excuse to dress up, and we both spend time together. I'd love to see you do the opposite video too! This one was really helpful, and having a counterpoint to it would probably be even better.
@@ThisIsAntwon Oh and by the way, I also bought a pair of Cambres off of your recommendation and I love them! I've worn them hiking, to a rave and to a formal event; they're so visually versatile and comfortable!

The J36-S is the most expensive item I've ever paid for, short of a laptop or whatever. Normally, I'm wracked with buyer's remorse and guilt after I spend even like $100 on something, but there's been zero negative feelings. Maybe I've turned a corner or that jacket was just my destiny?

I also dig the Cobrax Zero buttons they use on it instead of the original metal ones. If you wanna complete the suit, both Convex and the Spere pant works, with the latter being a more straight leg fit.
He did a review. Tbh as nice as Goretex is I've found the Haedn LT to be better for casual indoor use as it's very light and wrinkle resistant. It's not often you need a windproof blazer and it does have small wrinkles no matter what (even off the rack). That said the collar is cool.
