I’ve been watching my “under porch” den for about six weeks. I’ve found they are far more afraid of regular toned human voice/conversation than yelling. I’ve tried both. They ignore the yelling but hide from the conversational stuff.

She barreled through all my scare tactics (ammonia , citrus, cayenne) and blockades (repeatedly burying the entrance - she would work for over an hour to dig back into the den). I’m pretty sure she was this adamant a week or two before she gave birth. Also, I can’t confirm if this is likely true, but I feel like she stayed in the den after giving birth for 5-7 days - she wasn’t caught on video so either she stayed down there or the video didn’t activate. 🤷♀️

That’s obviously a mother trying to get to it’s babies. The time of year and it’s persistent nature are clear signs.. I feel bad for the Skunks. Too bad it didn’t get YOU with the spray.

The only thing that can account for this degree of persistence is A) a male trying to get to a female in heat, or B) A mother trying to get to her litter.
I’m with the homeowner. I like seeing wild animals in my yard, but my flowers and veggies are off limits. The house is a 100% no-go zone for bugs, mice, birds, or anything larger. Animals poop, pee, and gnaw on wires -all serious human health and safety issues.
I wonder why you couldn't allow this small creature to reside under your house. They don't do any harm and are just looking for a safe place to sleep. Why are humans such savages. His forebearerrs were there before you. And they don't smell at all if you don't throw snowshovels at them.
They smell. Had one under our house few years ago, didn't scare it or threaten it in any way and the house reeked. Sometimes in the summer one will walk by my open window and I have to get up and shut it or turn the fan to exhaust due to the stink.
👍🏼I would have bet there were babies too. get 2 large squirt guns,,fill one with Bleach the other with Ammonia. Empty one one the rocks then the other,,and run like hell🤪
I got tired of a skunk that keeps digging under my shed and ended up peeing on me. I said what was good for me is going to be great for him. I dumped out the lead shot, wad, and powder from a few of my shotguns shells. Removed the paint from some paint balls. Refilled them with my pee using a syringe and reloaded the shotgun shells with a weaker charge of powder. Now waiting for nightfall to see him on my infrared camera and then its time to pee on him
