Hey, bro. You'll probably never see this. Just wanted to say that a couple years ago, I suffered a retinal detachment which required surgery. I had to lay face down for 15 hours a day on a massage table for a week. Thats when I discovered your channel on my iPad which was face up on the floor. I watched every thing you ever did that week and it definitely got through that time, and took my mind far off from where it was. So, I wanted to say I appreciate you, your content, and your character. Take care, Ryu.

OMG you played a troll level I bug tested for someone on my stream. That's pretty incredible tbh. That level used to have one of the worst anti death rooms and then you had to do it again for the ending. When I saw the room and tried it I restarted and did the same on the ending. So he made the anti-death room a bit easier so it wouldn't be a "I would rather start from the beginning than do it" room.
10:45 in the art of trolling. These are called anti-softlock "minigames". These are rooms where you do usually be stuck until the time runs out. Unless you do the terrible section to make to the spike, pit or whatever deadly obstacle the creator placed. These can get annoying real quick if used correctly.
8:28 I decided to mess around with the "hidden message" if there was one. Starting off by looking for any distinguishable letters under the assumption that this was done in English. I will list the letters I found. Letters that are paired with another means it could be one or the other or both. For example in the middle of screen I see a capital H but I could also see a capital J so I'd pair them like HJ. Here's the list looking at picture from all directions: Cnu, VLnu, HJ, O, nu. This is starting to remind me of Sudoku, so lets take note of O. Now we know that the message can't be a 1 letter word because of the letter O. Now lets branch off in two ways with this O. One way is under the assumption that all letters can only be used once. The other way is letters can be used more than once. I'll focus on the one letter use assumption. O looks like it may be at the end or beginning of the word. Lets see if we can make any words with what we have so far: junco, unco, ouch, jo, ho, oh, lo, and no, on. Wow that is a small list. Now lets compare these words with the drawing. Junco, unco, and ouch don't fit the English rule of reading left to right so we can cross those out. Jo isn't an English word so we can cross that one out. Now we have lo, ho, oh, no, and on left. I am leaning towards the word ho because it fits in context with ryu's hate for that level. But lets find out for sure. Referencing the drawing the letters in lo have a space between them and in English letters have to be conjoined together to make a word. Now we have no, on, ho, and oh. They both follow the previous rule so how can we know for sure ho is the word? Under the assumption that the word was written first then a bunch of scribbles came after ho or oh seems like the logical awnser. Because lets be honest that n, maybe m. looks like it was just added on near the end. So under multiple assumptions and through process of elimination I believe Ho was the secret message.
I used to hate the one life hail Mary. "It's not the point of no skip" I would say. Now I just realized it's just Ryu giving himself extra work at the end.
I was sitting there at the end watching Ryu look at the contraption and bask in clever twist from the level creator, and I suddenly got very nervous realizing that he was going to sit there while the P-switch ran out and that would block the goal again. Lol. I'm glad he figured out how to fix it and that the creator was nice enough to allow someone that chance.
I always get stressed out when he just sits around at the finish line without a care in the world.. it made me smile to see that come back to bite him 38:25. ;)
in that "work in progress" level those 1-ways are for sprite limit purposes. they are used to create 99/100 objects and then that allows all kinds of shenanigans like black hole glitches and fusing. any time you see something like that, 100% guaranteed troll level
'No place like troll' was an interesting level. It felt disjointed, but not actively malicious. It definitely felt like the creator had seen some good troll levels, and was modeling their design on those (note, especially, the distinct lack of real softlocks), but hadn't really managed to make the experience gel just yet. Not necessarily a *good* level, but several steps above the hot garbage that used to be commonplace in any level marked 'troll.' Here's hoping the creator keeps making them and improving.
Hello, Developer here, thanks for the feed back, this level was pretty old and made in 2019, I have made more troll levels ever since, I have since improved and that this was an interesting level, I was looking at a lot of troll level videos by CarlSagan42 and took notes on the levels he played, it was my 3rd troll level so it wasn’t the highest of quality but thx for the feedback
That 2nd level had an obvious dev exit, at the start go up in between the pipes with the fire flower, that block brings you to the end, voila fire flower at the end.
Did anyone else spot the Kaizo Woods cheese? In the beginning, Yoshi can lick the spring. Take it to where you ditch Yoshi. If you're fast, you can spring drop, land on the spring, and make it, bringing Yoshi to the next section.
The strange one ways in the Trolllevel are used to fill the entety (No idea how to spell this) limit, this is super compliated, but at the same time super fun.for everybody not knowing what that is, I highly recommend watching ceave gamings videos about that. Thats a must watch if you want to build some more complicated and cool stages
Anyone else notice when you have the Mario 2 shell and you dig through cloud blocks that the cloud’s faces go from smiling to sheer terror as Mario tears them away from existence?
