Yeah that Nail gun would have been in the dumpster after day 1. I have a Blue Hawk, similar crap but it's better performing that what you have. For the Ridge beam I would have screw that anyway.
Tom 10:19! where is your bird's mouth, nailing it like chop sticks too??? - cutting your 2x4 common rafter or roof rafter by 1 1/2 in to install flying rafters now thats a major design flaw if you are using that framing method the rafter you notch must be at least a 2x6, by the way why not flush cut the flying rafter to the 2x4 rafter and just nailing it essently you only need to notch one?
You definitely know way more than I do about framing! I know about the birds mouth concept, but I didn't think the project was big enough to warrant it. I may end up finding out the hard way!
It's called a fly-rafter. Instead of notching both trusses only notch your end truss and face nail on the second truss. Will save a lot of time and effort with today's crooked lumber. Good job though
