Honestly, i'm not that sad that we lost considering how some fans act towards their players. Alot of the fans don't deserve to see England lift a trophy. I think sterling didn't take a pen becuase of the racist abuse he could get. Saka was arguably our best player in the quarter and semi finals.

Nah. While a great deal of the abuse is from English users a significant amount of it really does come from abroad. User accounts from the rest of Europe, the Middle East and South America mostly. My guess is that they're trolling kids doing it for a thrill and unlucky punters who've lost some money.

I’d love to see England lift a trophy and I’ve loved watching this team, but it’s hard to feel like this nation deserves it. The men's team did brilliantly to reach a stage that countless greats before them couldn't reach. But Italy were just the better team with more seasoned and experienced players. They went unbeaten 33 games for goodness sake! No defeat since 2018. It just wasn't meant to be this time. But that's no excuse for racism. It's wrong and must stop.
But the fact is, its a reality, racist exist in our society, the question we should ask , if these young players had scored and grealish and say, Harry Kane had missed the penalties would the same level hate be expressed towards their skin colour? I doubt it. Sad but true , and sad for our young very talented players who had to endure this. Hate in any shape or form, shouldn't exist but when it does emerge, we have to admit it, exist and deal with it, and by that , I mean the police need to take action and prosecute. Not sure about France outside of the football arena but that's another discussion. The two lads needed ten minutes on the pitch to get sweaty and focussed before taking penalties. Gareth didn't see that. We will never know why. they took Italy to the wire. Italy scored a flukey goal. Pickford stopped a Jorgino penalty. There were lots of plus signs. And the England goal was sweet. We should all have gone completely colour blind out of respect for this team

Genuinely felt the love and warmth and unity of the nation uniting together during the euros, all backgrounds, faiths, ethnicities were in it together and it was wonderful..all for it to spoilt by vile acts of thuggery and racism. These players are our own, in the football world they bring us together like a family and it's really sad to see this happen here and online.
