    Just purchased the DSP Mini Mk2 thanks to your videos. I can't wait to get my hands dirty once it comes in!

    Having done research and then finding your channel, I finally made a purchase of a Helix V Eight DSP MK2 and I have to say that coming from home audio I was dubious but had a lot of faith in Audiotec Fischer. So far from my testing at home I am very impressed and look forward to installing it in my car. Thanks Nerijus for all the videos with great information, keep up the great work 👍

    I just got an Helix p6 ultimate to run my front stage Infinitys but had it professionally installed so i binge your vids and watch them multiple times to try to get past my greenness when it comes to this. I still feel you have to be more knowledgeable to get your vids but im getting there...I'll keep watching til i get it! So thanks from OHio! You cant do too many vids on helix lol
    ...THANK YOU!

    Distortion at low freq. is much more benign to human ear that at high freq. I would take a digital product with lower distortion at high freq any day of the week.

    You just confirmed something that I kind of suspected with the Helix..it does play a little cleaner with higher output voltages. At least it does on my system and your measurements proves it. It’s not a huge difference but for me it is audible and noticeable. I would take the Helix over the Alpine any day of the week. Not just for the better performance but also for the import function of REW generated eq files. Punching in all those numbers manually sucks big time and takes a whole lot of fun out of tuning.

    • @Titans2138
      @Titans2138 4 місяці тому

      I wrote a progam using Chat Gpt 4, almost no coding experience, that will import the filters. I have to do one channel at a time though. Basically, it keys in the info from a text that I export from REW, I place my cursor in the field for filters in the desktop program for the DSP and it automatically copies that info. It has made tuning soooo much better. But yeah, the Helix is better, especially for rear fill applications.

    just to add the video 😉
    both coax and optical is pretty much identical in signal quality BUT optical is quite limited to 24/192 *if* you have the right RX/TX unit. a few of them can but a lot can only do 24/96 max. noise wise, yes optical is theorically better since both device is totally isolated. no interference in the car can penetrate the transmission line. but practically, it's unlikely you gonna hear the difference unless your car is dead silent. yes you can isolate coax with IT but i guess it's not something manufacturer wanted to add on BOM list. they kinda add distortion too if you picked the wrong part
    my advice: use Helix and send that Alpine baby to me. i'll do the 5 years of reliability test for free 🤤

    Am going to say it if anyone not going to... At 4v the helix will distort at 76db so with thd 0.10 this is with 100%= Pn everything is calculated in watts plus 0,001 and so on forth so long story short this DSP is only 67-72% efficiency...More input v more distortion with less efficiency My money on the alpine...Keep up the good work that you have been doing and i know how it does be when you have to give a reveiws coming to pors and cons heads up a friend of mine did test on on long time was waiting on you...I do not want to discredit this company and them can not do anything to me if i do...

    When measuring DSP's I think you should only bother with 2V and 4V. No need to do a sweep. You should measure SNR aswell. Treat it like a DAC review like what ASR does. Otherwise great video!

    • @RAW-CAt
      @RAW-CAt  10 місяців тому +1

      Well, for me it's important to know where a piece of gear is the cleanest so you can assume with what other equipment it can pair ideally. Some amps need up to 10V of input for max power with gains all the way down.

      @@RAW-CAt I've never tried anything else but I don't think I could live without Dirac. I did have the 8x12 without Dirac for about a year but found only 10 eq points per channel very limiting. With Dirac it's a different ball game.

      @@raymondc9896Im in the same boat. I got the 8x12. I almost went with the helix but decided to go mindsp. Ever since, I question that decision. I wish there was more content on the 8x12.
      I havent tried the Dirac. Is it that much better?

    • @raymondc9896
      @raymondc9896 10 місяців тому

      @@johnd5542 yep Dirac is amazing. So long as you do a full 7 channel tune with all crossovers off then re apply them latter. It's such a simple way to tune and it gets great results. I still apply a small amount of eq(same to each channel) to get my target curve just how I want but thats not 100% needed.

    Now i think it it will be nice to do a a video with a comparizon of chinese and helix bluethooth devices to see if its good for the money and if LDAC is better tha APTH XD of helix bluethooth.That will be intresting because i think many people download music to the mobile phones and playing via bluethooth to the car and how better is music with LDAC transmission rate 990kbps from aptxHD 576kbps?of caurse if they have mobile phones that can support LDAC.Regards CHRIS.

      @RAW-CAt
      Measurements of multiple BT Receivers on Audio Science Review clearly show that LDAC @ 990kbps provides the absolute best signal and audio quality and is the only Bluetooth transmission codec you should use (if possible).
      Unfortunately, Apple iOS devices do not support LDAC or Apt-X/Apt-X HD, only SBC and AAC.
      Most of the mid- to high-tier Samsung Galaxy Android smartphones and tablets support LDAC as well as Sony's devices (LDAC was developed by Sony).
      You have to specifically set the BT codec AND bitrate in the Android smartphone's BT settings, and you may need to also set the Bitrate to 990kbps instead of 330kbps or 660kbps in "Developer Options" settings.
      In some instances, the original SBC Bluetooth Audio codec was better than AAC, Apt-X & Apt-X HD.
      The least expensive BT receiver I have found that has been tested to have good performance is the Topping BC3.
      But for use in a car audio system, I would try the Audison B-con, which has LDAC with both digital and analog outputs with a digital pass through.

    Having this dsp for a while and playing around with it I noticed that always after using atm or putting in the calculated delays my sound stage pulls to the right. After eq-ing individual drivers i have to lower the right side down with 6/7db to get a nice center image. If i then use balance to the left side plays way louder than the right. As soon as i put it back on zero perfect center image. Is it possibly normal that the right side has to be lowered this much for a decent center image?

    • @RAW-CAt
      @RAW-CAt  10 місяців тому

      The ATM is not 100% accurate. It aligns the first peak of the IR. I have a video comparing all TA methods.

      @@RAW-CAt I think I have watched almost all of your videos by now 👌. When using the calculated delays with a tape measure the same thing happens. Left side just disappears completely until I turn the entire right side down. I’m going to try the loopback method soon. After several times reading your pdf about this method I have a question about the loopback cable. The female 6.35 to rca adaptor has to be female on both sides right? Or else the mono rca cannot be plugged in. Thanks a lot for making these tutorials!!
