honestly my favorite episode so far, every ep this season i didn’t mind that they ended but this one i really really didn’t wanna end. my only nit pick is the black eye for half the ep like damn how long does it take to heal but i get it’s symbolic since all three graysons have one. i dont mind agent spider as a crackpot theory is he’s just an alternate universe spidey and not a bootleg. also the dinosaurs sounded exactly how i thought they would. i lowkey wish we got a few more alt costume marks cause like two are just the blue and yellow.
continue so i don’t spoil spoiler alert spoiler for comic: i doubt the way rex looks when he takes off his helmet and voice is how it will be later. most likely just a misdirection for show fans and a point for comic readers. but i really like rudy’s va and think he’s dry apathetic tone fits how rex/rudy is later down the line
It kinda does leave you on a cliffhanger if you reasonably infer what comes next, but it ends on a very subdued note, not boring or uninteresting, just subdued, which I really respect. If the cliffhanger of the mid-credit scene implies anything, it's that Alan and Nolan are going to team up to escape the Viltrumite prison. Considering they're two of the most powerful beings in the story (and considering the third escapee they haven't teased yet), it's gonna be a riot.
I think they did that on purpose. The reason why season one end of the way it did was because they didn’t know if season two would be a possibility. Since season three is already in the works and seems like it’s going to be released within less than a year, there’s really no reason to end with a massive cliffhanger.
If they adapted episodes in the comics order there would have been a cliff hanger or set up, but basically the lack of montages like season 1 where saw everyone who is coming for mark.
@@John-qv7syThey actually didn't make a good point I highly doubt either of you have read the comics so I'm not going to spoil anything but you are correct that is Rudy. There's a reason why he's going by Rex that you will find out eventually it's called foreshadowing.

this really felt like a mid season finale, if they didn’t have that long ass break then yes the finale would’ve been fine but making people wait 4 months for 4 episodes is NOT worth it imo, especially the ending we got
If it makes you feel any better, it sounds like we might actually be getting season 3 between the end of this year and the first half of next year. As far as the finale goes, it wasn't as exciting as last season's finale, but it was still really well done. It's a fantastic way to end on a narrative/thematic level, and it makes sense why they did it the way they did. The intensity happens in the first half, leaving the second half to reflect on the gravity of Mark's choices that will drive his character development moving forward. The scenes with Mark grappling with having killed Angstrom Levy were so freaking good. Steven Yeun kills it (pun absolutely intended). The only thing I wish they added was a longer mid-credit scene. I just wanted to see the breakout of the prison.
This emotions throughout this Season 2 Finale hit harder than Invincible did to Levy. Uuugh! Also, can't wait for Allen to bust Nolan out of prison next season!! Should be fun.
Honestly, this felt more like a mid-season build-up episode than an actual season 2 ending. Hopefully its just a speedbump for the series and not the new norm for it...
ALWAYS! Bugged me we didn't get more info about future Rex. He is younger than Eve, but Robot goes by Rudy, and he is smart while Rex seems to be on himbo status, so my best guess is Rudy renamed himself at some point. Occam's razor would be that answer, but who knows.
Absolutely loved the episode. This is EXACTLY how you handle a multiverse storyline. MCU/Disney take notes. Also love the fact that Nolan, Mark and Debbie all sport black eyes during the episode. For it shows that even though they are apart as a family they will always be connected. And Mark went from ‘at least I don’t kill’ to fatally taking out Levy in a week. Great foreshadowing and it now sticks with me. Overall, brilliant season and bring on Season 3.❤👍🏿👏🏿
I wanted a special episode of Mark and Spider-Man. If it's just gonna be an offbrand version, I'm far less interested now. I would have just as soon removed that entire scene and allocated resources toward maybe showing the prison break in the mid-credit scene, then do a special episode showing the Invincible/Spider-Man adventure.
I did like this season finale, and I loved where it ended. I thought originally *insert character* to get stranded in the post apocalypse dimension. But I’m FAR more glad with what we got, this episode perfectly captured the most tense scenes in the comics. I cannot wait for season 3.
13:19 its because robot built a clone of rex's body as a child so he could originally be like monster girl but he's aged since then, its also the same in the main universe
I do appreciate how good of a person Mark truly is, I hope they don’t change that. I like how the violence and graphic aspects of this show are used to tell an emotional and grounded story, rather than for the sake of shock.
Even though this wasn’t the most phenomenal episode ever, it was still great for what it was worth. We saw Mark dealing with heavy physical, emotional AND mental agony from start to finish. He lost his girl, lost his Dad (again), almost lost his Mom & little brother & nearly lost himself (LITERALLY in another dimension). I also loved the symmetry of his, Debbie’s and Nolan‘s right eyes all being bruised the same way. Shows that they’re all sharing the same plight in a sense.
I still hate Angstrom Levy. You are holding a baby by the leg and throwing it across the room and yelling he isn't evil. A case could be made that in the multiverse crazy brain he sees all the evil Marks and Debbie's as evil just waiting for a time to come out, but Oliver is not in any universe, and he threw him for no reason just eh, baby chuck. Just rahr, rahr, rahr, me good you bad, rahr, rahr.
9:25 ahhhj that arm break caught me by surprise. i've actually broken my arm in about that place ( ulna fracture, radial head exploded, elbow dislocated) , and strangely in the moment it didn't really hurt. not trying to pose as a tough guy , it just wasn't what i would have expected
@@msbkaioken136 yes. But the video keeps trying to push her presence as the difference. Even giving his theory that she didn't raise him in other timeliness. Which is directly contradicted in the show
@@Kiever_Sloane Not really there is potentially infinite dimensions and timelines and universes. Just because Angstrom says the ones that he's been to doesn't mean he's been to even anywhere near a quarter of them.
Hearing Josh Keaton's voice as Agent Spider was a joy. The scene in which he showed up I predicted that he'd be voices by him. As a whole, the episode was good and was one of the best.
This was a *fantastic* season ender. You get pulled in so many different directions and they (thankfully) throw in enough jokes to break the tension, giving the viewer a moment to breathe. It sucks we have to wait for who knows how long to see where it picks up next.
I noticed how every time Mark got his ass kicked really bad, it was always his right eye was purple and swollen. And NEVER his left eye. In this episode, not only did this happen to Mark again, but to Debbie and Nolan as well. All 3 had swollen purple right eyes. It must be a cheap shortcut for the animators.
Wanted to point out that Nolan has a black eye as well at the end of the episode. Meaning the entire Grayson family currently have a black right eye lol
The lawyer friendly spiderman is called Agent Arachnid. The agent title I feel connects the concept of how both earth 1610 and the animated ultimate spiderman were being groomed by fury and worked as sort of agents, miles, and peter in Far from Home was picked up by skrull fury to agent and wore a shield stealth suit.
At least it'll probably only be a year or so. Some are suggesting it could even start toward the end of THIS year. That would be awesome, but I think it would still be a reasonable release window if it even released early to mid summer. That would still be less than a year and a half later, and that's perfectly normal for big budget animated shows.
Only reason it took that long was Covid lockdown restrictions impacting production from what I've heard. Some are saying we could be getting the next season sometime next year, maybe, though I'm not counting on it, as early as late THIS year.
For right now I don’t have any direct commentaries to the video, although is fantastic I appreciate everything that you do. I just want to say Paul thank you so much for all the reviews you’ve done on everything from invincible to X-Men to everything I just wanna give you props and praise you and MTare doing a great job and I as a fan appreciate it greatly that’s really all I wanted to say
Tbh a lot of people will say this was a meh season finale but something about the depth of emotion in this animation and the trauma all this death has caused and the ramifications is very dope to see. Also, seeing a God like being discover feelings is something very different for a comic character. This show is 🐐
I don't really understand how you talk about the Rex Rudy stuff in the comics and don't realize that that is Rudy/robot just going by Rex now. Like what happens later in the comics that still is Rudy. You were correct that it is foreshadowing for something in the future, but incorrect about what that thing was.
Yeah, and I think he doesn’t want people to know because that’s a spoil personally if I was doing it, I would’ve just ignored him doing a different name but then again people would point out that eve called him a different name but he just did it for non-spoiler reasons
@@Derekmilewski There is definitely a way of bringing attention to it without spoiling anything. But here it just kind of comes across as If he didn't understand what the story was going for which is kind of weird considering he knows the story from the comics. Which made me instantaneously understand what they were going for.
10:26 I can’t lie it used to frustrate me when people would do that 😂 now I just pause it when I learnt about certain things creators do to cause engagement I understood it

It would have been comical to see him punching himself trying to blend in... ok, yeah, after typing that, maybe that's a bit dark...
honestly my favorite episode so far, every ep this season i didn’t mind that they ended but this one i really really didn’t wanna end. my only nit pick is the black eye for half the ep like damn how long does it take to heal but i get it’s symbolic since all three graysons have one. i dont mind agent spider as a crackpot theory is he’s just an alternate universe spidey and not a bootleg. also the dinosaurs sounded exactly how i thought they would. i lowkey wish we got a few more alt costume marks cause like two are just the blue and yellow.
continue so i don’t spoil
spoiler alert
spoiler for comic: i doubt the way rex looks when he takes off his helmet and voice is how it will be later. most likely just a misdirection for show fans and a point for comic readers. but i really like rudy’s va and think he’s dry apathetic tone fits how rex/rudy is later down the line
i was hoping for a bigger cliff hanger, but for some reason.. the absence of one makes me want the new season even more
It kinda does leave you on a cliffhanger if you reasonably infer what comes next, but it ends on a very subdued note, not boring or uninteresting, just subdued, which I really respect. If the cliffhanger of the mid-credit scene implies anything, it's that Alan and Nolan are going to team up to escape the Viltrumite prison. Considering they're two of the most powerful beings in the story (and considering the third escapee they haven't teased yet), it's gonna be a riot.
@@Tyler_WI feel like it might be BB
@@Moonshine449it is
I think they did that on purpose.
Thank you for your amazing coverage this season.
much appreciated mate, thanks for watching
Robot/Rudy cloned himself a human body from Rex, that's actually robot/Rudy, as a Rex clone. That's how it was already, he's just older. That's Rudy.

Just noticed in this breakdown that the world Angstom took them to at 10:55 where you're pointing out the Burger Mart shirt, the people there have seem to have the Arrakis (Dune) nose plugs in for the Stillsuit.

this really felt like a mid season finale, if they didn’t have that long ass break then yes the finale would’ve been fine but making people wait 4 months for 4 episodes is NOT worth it imo, especially the ending we got
Ther knew ther Not geting cancelt so the final Do t need to be more then this.
@@indedgames4359What in the illiterate fuck are you saying
@@Tyler_W well said. nice to see someone who thinks deeper.
Yeah
This emotions throughout this Season 2 Finale hit harder than Invincible did to Levy. Uuugh!
Also, can't wait for Allen to bust Nolan out of prison next season!! Should be fun.
Simon is amazing. He’s taking the time out of his day to let you interview him and he still thanks you for just being interested in the show.
This finale took me on a rodeo of emotions
Honestly, this felt more like a mid-season build-up episode than an actual season 2 ending. Hopefully its just a speedbump for the series and not the new norm for it...
ALWAYS! Bugged me we didn't get more info about future Rex. He is younger than Eve, but Robot goes by Rudy, and he is smart while Rex seems to be on himbo status, so my best guess is Rudy renamed himself at some point. Occam's razor would be that answer, but who knows.
You have to read the original comment to understand
Yeah when rex died Rudy took his name in the comics
@@kadegetslaid634 Oooooh! Completely forgot about that. Thanks!
Yup. Was about to comment that “i don’t kill” moment being foreshadowed
We need a spinoff episode of Agent Spider and Mark. Also you missed the fact he hit Angstrom with a Fortnite sniper

I do appreciate how good of a person Mark truly is, I hope they don’t change that. I like how the violence and graphic aspects of this show are used to tell an emotional and grounded story, rather than for the sake of shock.
ty for posting as the eps go live
11:14 - That's just Steven Yeun getting a little Neeganesque revenge on behalf of our beloved Glenn. Get 'em, Invincible.
Just finished watching the episode and came here
Even though this wasn’t the most phenomenal episode ever, it was still great for what it was worth.
A brain evolved for finding berries and picking fleas off your family can not handle multiversal knowledge.
Bruh Levi specifically said Debie joined Mark and Nolan in several realities.
But she didn't in this timelime which is probably why mark unlike so many others didn't join his dad this time.
@@msbkaioken136 yes. But the video keeps trying to push her presence as the difference. Even giving his theory that she didn't raise him in other timeliness. Which is directly contradicted in the show

Hearing Josh Keaton's voice as Agent Spider was a joy. The scene in which he showed up I predicted that he'd be voices by him. As a whole, the episode was good and was one of the best.
Wasn’t a bad episode but definitely didn’t have the feeling of a season finale
This was a *fantastic* season ender. You get pulled in so many different directions and they (thankfully) throw in enough jokes to break the tension, giving the viewer a moment to breathe. It sucks we have to wait for who knows how long to see where it picks up next.
Spectacular, Spectacular Arachnikid, Spectacular, Spectacular, Arakimakid.
Thanks Paul.
10:53 It could be a microphone, but i thought the woman to the right was a Dune reference with a Fremen stillsuit nose piece.
Am I the only one who noticed
Mark
Debbie
And Nolan all have a black eye on the same eye
11:17 "Smashing his head just like the like button", lol. Ok you deserve it. I am going to like this video.
This episode was amazing and was a great finale, when Mark lost it I was just gasping. I loved the Batman joke
Wanted to point out that Nolan has a black eye as well at the end of the episode. Meaning the entire Grayson family currently have a black right eye lol
Didn’t realize this was the finale. Feels bad man
12:33 what a fantastic reference!
Dam y'all fast!!!
I’m just mad they gonna make us wait at least a year for season 3 😭😭😭🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Now you gotta read the comics
At least it'll probably only be a year or so. Some are suggesting it could even start toward the end of THIS year. That would be awesome, but I think it would still be a reasonable release window if it even released early to mid summer. That would still be less than a year and a half later, and that's perfectly normal for big budget animated shows.
But seriously, read the comics.

Eve telling Mark she loved him, after keeping it in for so many years, seeing him once more when he was still a good person, was a hit in the gut.
