Just seen something very similar in Cornwall, UK, but they were much more spread out than this, is it the same thing? Must have watched them going by for at least 10 minutes.
I do night sky tours in my home town of Fairlie at the beginning of the dark sky reserve we were just about to start some scope viewing and then these appeared I the sky I was surprised and uncertain to what they were as well as the guest it made for a great tour and have seen them 3 nights in row
Elon Musk has asked the FCC for permission to launch 1 million of these satellites in to very low orbit, of around 340Km altitude. The area of observable sky at 340Km is around 360,000 Km², of a total area of roughly 540,000,000 Km². Assuming the satellites are spaced equidistantly, the number of satellites one will theoretically be able to observe at any one given moment in time will be 1,000,000 ÷ (540,000,000 ÷ 360,000) = 667. Yes, that's right. Put 1 million satellites at this altitude and the whole freaking sky is going to be moving. You think 35 or so is a spectacle, try 20 times the number all moving at once with new ones appearing and old ones disappearing constantly long before sunrise and long after sunset. It will look cool for a while, but how are we meant to know when we can make a wish after a large rock enters our atmosphere?

I saw them yesterday evening over Colusa. I just told my kids that the Santa's were doing a dry run before the big day. Merry Christmas!
Why not just educate them about what it really is.
As an astrophotographer, this annoys me
I'm one too. It doesn't annoy me because it's a very late night hobby. You only see satellites during twilight hours.
