Thank you for watching! Many of you have been asking if I’m going to be doing more Christmas episodes like last year. ABSOLUTELY! Starting next week so if you have any Christmas baking, craft or content requests, leave me a reply below. 😘😘
Definitely something on Christmas baking! It’s getting cold where I live, when the weather gets cold there, what main courses do you make? P.S. Since watching your video on veggie quesadillas, I’ve also been trying to cut down on sugar and caffeine. Emphasis on “trying”. 🤣
I loved your video with christmas tree decorations. It would also be nice to see how you decorate your house. It is so big! Do you decorate every room or only the most visited ones? Do you use lights or candles? All those tiny details I am very curious about;) And of course the most ginger and cinnamon recepies to keep our hearts warm and cozy. Thank you for inspiration, even just writing all this gives me goosebumps of excitement!
Oh, Kylie, it's gorgeous!!! Guido was about to burst lol. When my parents helped me with my first home, same antics as yours. Good, good times and memories.
The most touching part about this episode is watching your parents, in particular your Dad helping you, realizing your dreams. It reminded me of my dear Dad, who passed away December 9th of last year. Like yours, there was no mountain that he could not move for me... Since you honor family history so, save these videos in a treasure box for generations to come! Love. :)
Condolences for your loss. My father died also a couple of years ago ; he was our rock. He was a restorer and carpenter. He made may self designed furniture. So now I have great memories and beautiful furniture. I am so blessed 😌 but I miss him dearly!
Thank you Graciela for reminding everyone how precious our time is with our parents. I hope this one year anniversary of your father’s passing is not too painful for you. Just think though that many people have strained or absent relationships due to fights or pride or neglect so how wonderful that you remember your father with fondness and love. ♥️
I never had a dad like this, anyone who does is really blessed. I know I’m giving that kind of dad to my own child, which I’m grateful for. Great dads are amazing.
Yes it is a commode..(toilet) the pull-out piece underneath holds "weight" and of course you can empty from the bucket..the top cupboard for linens/cloths etc...a great antique!
I too had a dad that helped me and my husband do every project I could imagine to our home. He also was Italian , a guitar maker and master craftsman , I miss him everyday, he lived to be 97 and was still crafting something in his workshop everyday until the end. He was an inspiration to everyone that knew him and I consider myself one of the lucky girls to have had him so long. ❤️
As a singleton I love having a gardener around once in a while. Also to help with heavy lifting, etc. You could just focus on small spaces for your soul. And bake a bit in the warm kitchen. We don’t mind you in a tracksuit either, feel free ❤️
I'm sure someone else will have suggested this, but plug in up- lights on floor behind the oil urns, will create an indirect glow and also light up the ceiling. I use them behind potted trees in my living room and love the ambience it creates. All of you hard work has made this space so beautiful.
And Guido seeing the love of his life bringing back to life his family's centuries old home 😊 Does it get better than this? In his own words - incredible...
There was a time for me, many years ago, when I was living in an old stone house on the Hudson River that spanned Manhattan and Edgewater, New Jersey. I had the most amazing views from the balcony. I could watch the sugar barges and other boats sail by, and see the lights come on at dusk in upper Manhattan and on the George Washington Bridge. I had to carve a path from my door through out-of-control honeysuckle bushes that thrived along the stone wall in front of the house, just to get to the garden on the river's cliffside. The best part of that season in my life was discovering so many old treasures in the attic that, from the level of dust and cobwebs, must have been untouched for at least a century. I had so much fun putting some of those treasures around the house... dusted and polished of course. Your home with Guido is a veritable living museum. And what a dream to be able to live there, and to realistically in the years ahead, be able to expect these discoveries in hidden away nooks and crannies. God has surely blessed you dear Kylie. Even having your parents with you in these unstable times is a huge blessing. Thank you for sharing your amazing life with us. E il tuo soggiorno a volta è squisito. Your videos are always enchanting, and soul-filling like excellent art and good food and wine.
Yes I thought the same. It might be better to scan and replace the originals with good quality copies because the light will fade the drawings over time.
Your parents are gems! Oh Kylee! No words for the stunningness of this place. Wow! My Italian father loved the English poet John Keats and he always quoted" A thing of beauty is a joy forever. It's loveliness increases, it will never fade into nothingness"
I’m amazed, such a philosophical story you built out of disremembered ruins of yesterday. You got it all, the beauty, an eye for colors, the heavenly appreciative taste for nature, ears for the melodies of nature, bringing back the fragrance of grannie’s kitchen to us reminding what a home is, I meant “home sweet home”, and not a house. Mm I probably don’t know how to write…. Appreciate your work. You are one of the best storytellers that I know. Thank you for giving a re-birth to “all those masterpieces” otherwise forgotten & gone. Wish you the best! Pradeep
Your parents are incredibly helpful, not just from helping in the labor, that is needed but also suggestions in placement and offering ideas. You have a great eye, it comes with your photography, your love for this warm inviting style that brings your taste and comfort to reality. It was very enjoyable to watch your room come to life, thank you.
I am a fellow Australian married to an Italian but living in Australia, I just love your videos. For a young woman you are an inspiration. Keep up the good work, you are so grounded and balanced, it is very calming. 😘
So glad you showed Guido's reaction at the end. What a transformation of that space, after so much hard work. Your parents are the best and it's great to see you work together so well.
I loved the fact that you showed you and your parents struggling with the Olive urn. They are wonderful people. I think you are doing a fantastic job in keeping the floors and ceilings authentic. It is going to be so warm and classy when you are finished! The views out the windows, WOW!
Kylie I was laughing so much with you as I am exactly the same! My son and I sometimes can't breathe with laughter when something happens like this! Laughter is so good for the soul and it lifts the vibration in the house too! What a lovely uplifting video, not only watching your home come together before our eyes but the light heartedness of you and your family. My wonderful late parents were exactly the same and never said no when I or my siblings ever asked for help with anything. I always knew and appreciated that I was blessed to have them and so are you! Thank you for sharing and letting us in to watch your life unfold it is so uplifting and inspires me with your appreciation of all the things that our forefathers have left behind!
Today I have stumbled across your videos. I saw Italian Tuscan and clicked play. I adore Tuscany and during watching this video I was crying your relationship with your father was like my own. Seeing him cutting the wood and how he spoke with you I couldn’t hold back my tears. My father passed away when I was 30 years old he was just 55 years old and that was now 19 years ago. My partner sat with me watching also and I could not hold back my emotion to how seeing what I once had. You are very lucky and blessed and these times are what you will always cherish now and for many many years to come. I will continue watching you along your journey in such an amazing beautiful land and home. You are doing your home proud! Bellissimo così felice di guardare. X
What I love is seeing the face of Guido when he returns after some days off and see all the changes you and your parents made in his glorious family home... Such a proud man! He is so lucky to have you and the other way around too. Beautiful Family!
The floors look absolutely stunning! Just lamps will light that room perfectly. And regular wood heat is always the best for warmth and the most inexpensive. I love the lamp but it has to be above the floor on a table or something. Yes it is a toilet in the side table. I hope you bought that big rug with the rosy color. It is exquisite! Designer making comments here. You're doing a fabulous job Kylie!
Kylie, the room is just magnificent, not least because it is lived in. It drinks in your laughter like the terracotta tiles take in the oil, like the wood furniture holds its bumps and scratches, like the carpet accepts being trod upon. May your salotto hold love for many years to come.
I just love how your whole family is adding to the restoration of this home. 🌸 What a warm feeling to know that you all hold a part in this places history 💗
Your parents are AMAZING!! What beautiful souls to make their daughters dreams come to reality, you three work so hard that I get a sore back just watching this 😂 Guido must be very thankful, those floors look amazing, you have a brilliant eye for all things beautiful Kylie ❣️♥️
It’s such a gorgeous space and you are doing beautiful things with it. ♥️ I’m sure many people have told you that the closet is a commode for a chamber pot. I stayed on the Aran Islands off the west coast of Ireland as a child when only a few houses had electricity. We used jugs and basins for washing and a chamber pot under the bed at night which was emptied into a toilet in the morning. Some houses had an outhouse for the toilet so it was much nicer to use a chamber pot in the cold and hop back under the warm covers! Some of them had pretty designs and covers. It was actually much more comfortable than it sounds!!!!!! I think the lamp on the floor near the door looks a little off kilter. It needs to be on something, even just a very low stand of some kind. Wrought iron perhaps? Or wood. I look forward to your videos every Friday Kylie. Thank you for sharing so much beauty and creativity with us. ♥️
I had this friend that I hadn’t seen in a very long time. One day he called me for a chat. I like to purposely make people laugh because it makes me feel so happy. So I made him laugh and the sound of his laugh sounded so foreign that I realized it has been a very very long time since he had laughed. I thought of this when you talked about being able to feel when I room or building has gone for a long time not being celebrated. It’s the same with our human building!!! Let’s all remember to practice the fine art of celebrating that we are life itself. 💕
Oh...so lovely to have mom and dad here with you having fun, working very hard to restore the place! Their warm touch will add on great memories....great love and contributions last forever ❤♥💖
You are one of the most thoughtful and kindest souls ever Kylie, you make us feel just as warm as cosy as you describe in your vlogs and seeing you arrange the furniture with yah parents helping out while in complete stitches laughing and bringing so much joy on guidos face when he sees the transformation you all did was priceless…as the saying goes a women’s touch makes the home…we appreciate the hard work and passion you put into renovating the farm house and the earthy warm gusto that you breath life into it.❤️🙏
Everything is coming together just beautifully Kylie. I love how you're taking your time putting it all together. It will be just what you want when it's finished. And I might add, A house is just a house, but a home is the one that is lived in. Looking forward to the finished product!
I thought the same, for a chamber pot. I remember staying at my grandparents farmhouse in the mountains of New York State when I was a child and having to use a chamber pot if you had to go to the bathroom at night , only she kept it under the bed. It saved a trip to the outhouse in the dark and especially winter on a cold night. Lots of old farmhouses did not have indoor plumbing even in the 1950s when I was little. I remember thinking it was kinda fun because we didn’t have to live like that at our house, so to me it was like camping out. 😆
This was such a heartwarming episode, to see you and your loving parents take so much pleasure and pride in the incredibly challenging work of renovating and decorating a ruin. And the joy in Guido’s reaction, it tells so much about how pleased his family must be to see their beloved family farm infused with love once again. They’ll be so happy when they see the architectural drawings featured in the dinning room. So lovely Kylie.
Sepia drawings, simply matted and framed are perfect in those spaces. The brick work on the arched ceilings is fabulous! Your videos are high quality, artistic, accompanied by music that heightens the experience. Thank you for all you give to viewers, Kylie.
Kylie, in your Newlywed game video you mentioned that being LAZY was a trait that really annoys you. I have thought of that several times this week when I’ve been LAZY🙀 Now I say to myself, Kylie would be busy doing something! Thanks for the motivation. Big clean today and 90% of my Christmas decorations are up. I also got out my mother’s Christmas dishes, she saved them for years and only used them on Christmas if we had guests. I plan to use them every day for the next month❣️
Oh Kylie it's beautiful. I am so glad you shared Guido's response. I love living in a beautiful home but what makes it even better is the pleasure it gives to the people in our lives. Our environment affects us all so much and in these times we are all at home with family so much more. I also believe in using beautiful things. I try to bring in only things I love, usually that I get cheaply from second hand shops. Knowing beautiful objects have a history and have given joy to people before me makes them all the more special.
Such a beautiful space! But what I loved most is seeing how you and your family work together. "The women in our family..." -- it's so special. Trust your instincts, Kylie. You've done an amazing job, and as the house continues to evolve you will realize what works and what doesn't. Decorating is like fitting the pieces of the puzzle together. If a lamp looks good, it looks good. Leave it if it makes you happy!
Love the antique rug you saw in the shop with the pink tones. I think it works great with the terracotta, better than a green would. The pink doesn't interrupt the flow of the terracotta, just adds an intricate section, like a whirlpool in an expanse of water. I think the green would a full stop, an intrusion. And the windows seem high up so the outside views are limited and the green wouldn't flow between the outside and inside as it would on higher floors in the house. Instead this room is feeling warm and enveloping, womb-like.
Agree. I loved the green rug she showed in the last video, but when I saw this one I thought it was perfect. I do like when a rug blends somewhat with the floor, but as you said, with just enough other colors/pattern to draw interest.
We live in a log home in a well known university football town in Alabama. Though we are in the city limits, we are surrounded by trees and springs on our tiny property. Today is a major football competition between our local university football team and the second largest university team in our state. Often, by husband visits with friends to watch the game and I bake treats for them. Today was homemade cinnamon rolls and homemade orange rolls. I watched you lovely video between mixing, rising, rolling and cutting the dough and baking them. Your lovely lemon trees spurred me to ask my husband to purchase one for me this past spring. I have to bring it in during the winder because we do have freezing weather, but I have three huge lemons on it and they are, as lemons do, slowly ripening. Thank you for all the loveliness you bring us as we watch your videos.
Absolutely love the terracotta floor Kylie! So stunning and what a beautiful reward for all your hard work. Look forward to seeing more progress on the rest of the farm.
Kylie your tastes are exquisite. Trust your own inner voice. You are an amazing creator and it feels like such a privilege that you share. It is so fun to watch you follow your joy. Take care and good luck
I absolutely love this restoration.. So beautiful and classy and yet so cosy at the same time. I love the Italian style. I love everything about this.. The music, the way you have filmed it. It makes me yearn to return to Italy🇮🇹❤️xxx
Isn't it lovely having young and handy parents? My parents were 24-25 when I was born and I never realized how much I appreciated their youth until we needed help setting up our house and doing maintenance. I can see that you get your positive spirit and your work ethic from your parents. Them not being able to return to Australia might have been a blessing in disguise. You will think back on this time for the rest of your life and really appreciate that they were able to help you start your married life and create the space you might one day raise your own family in. Two family histories coming together in a beautiful way.
You have done an amazing job with the floor and the decor, I'm loving everything you undertake, it's so inspiring. How wonderful that you have your family to help you. I can't wait to see the next video.
This room is so stunning and rich in every aspect of your rennovation. I want to cry in desire for such a beautiful home and life you and Guido are creating together.
Kylie, in the room with the vaulted ceilings I can see beautiful Scavo glass wall sconces to illuminate the space. I have two Scavo glass pendant lights in my kitchen, on a dimmer switch, and they are so beautiful. Made in Italy. Even when they are turned off, and the sunlight is on them, they are lovely. They give the appearance of something old, rustic, excavated. Hence, the name “ Scavo”. They would be perfect in that space. Another lighting fixture idea I think would look great is some type of sconce with wrought iron incorporated. I would definitely not mess with that gorgeous brick ceiling by putting in ceiling lighting. I’m not a fan of overhead lighting anyway. And that ceiling is too beautiful to alter it. Wall sconces and beautiful lamps would light the space just fine. Even some hurricane candle wall sconces would work there, as they would align with the medieval vibe. It’s so fun to watch your projects evolve! You have a very good eye and style sense. And I love that you honor the history of whatever building you renovate. Sending you love from New Jersey. 🧡
The floor is a stunner - we all cannot wait to see the finished product - a work of hundreds of hours of labor borne out of love. I LOVE your ring dear girl, whoever chose it, v. good choice.
Wow!! It’s stunning!! Absolutely incredible what you and your parents were able to do while Guido was away! So happy he like it! The prints on the wall are remarkable!! Such incredible history!! So excited to see more!! Love from Southern California 💗
The scene where you’re laughing hysterically brought me so much happiness. I’m missing my family a lot in this moment and seeing you as a family conquering this big project together brings me joy. Thank you for documenting everything, when one walks into this space they will feel all the love and comfort that you put into this beautiful space. I love the earthiness😍
This is such a journey I’m sure for you but it is also a journey for us thank you for always sharing the love you have for your home and the history of it!!
Every episode that you publish, resonates with me in some way. This one is no exception Kylie. Your profound love for your family and the bond that you have is so apparent. Your passion for creating beautiful, aesthetically pleasing spaces that have soul and sooth the mind and body. Having restored 2 ancient homes in France, I’m now about to do another renovation on a smaller scale in Tuscany as well. Hopefully next year if the “world” allows me to travel. I can’t wait and your ideas, your guidance and your uncannily similar tastes, are truly making my own creative juices flow! I can’t wait to get there and start my own project. A tiny one in comparison to yours but I’ve done the big ones in the past and now at 60, I’m happy to do smaller scale creations. Thank you once again for a beautiful share! I loved it! Complimenti! 🥰🥂🤗
I love it all and your parents are so amazing to go on this journey with you and share such a wonderful experience and be so helpful and supportive love love love to you and your family.
You don't take a video, you make it. Rays of calmness are emitting from your video, your presence gave them a new soul🤩😂 I am still searching for a perfect sentence to describe your upload, maybe vid of the century Great... in fact, you don't even need to because you are already 'AWE-SOME❤🧡🤍💯
Kylie, You look so happy and vibrant. I am smiling just watching this. You inspire me incredibly to go after my dreams, live simply and beautifully and create. Thank you love
You all put so much work into this room. It is starting to come to life again and it looks so beautiful. Can’t wait to see the rest of the furniture. Will you be decorating it for Christmas as well?. A tree would look magical in a place like this. Oh and yes, you just put a chamber pot stand into your dining room 😂 but who cares when it looks so gorgeous. 😘
Ciao bella. In the guest bedroom, that cabinet was used as a commode (toilet), to be used by children, or invalids (while recovering from illness). My Mother (RIP) said they, as children, had a chamber pot they'd have under the bed, in case they needed to go during the night. It saved them a trip, often in the cold, and mostly in the dark, to the outhouse. I love what you've done in renovations to this beautiful Italian building. You're making it a very comfortable home, I wish you and yours all the best. May you have many happy family/friends gatherings around that dining table. Vivi una bella vita.
Greetings from NorCal! Kylie, Guido & Fam...floors look AMAZING. A labor of love, for sure, but the end result is beautiful. Keep up the excellent reno work..we are all enthralled. Happy Holidays from Napa.
Dear Kylie, I'm just catching this episode now and the heating question of an old farmhouse stood out to me, especially with the current energy and gas crisis. Have you ever heard or considered an autonomous heating system through a heat pump (pompa di calore/freddo-caldo)? My father is a brilliant engineer and has installed a heat pump in my family's home in Germany which supplies the entire household with heating and electricity and on top heats the swimming pool and hot tub system all year round. On top of being independent from gas price fluctuations it also contributes to preserving our environment and not robbing the earth of it's resources. Just some thoughts for you and Guido :) Your farmhouse project is coming along so beautifully!! I love watching you thrive in every step your project is moving forward. Without a stable home base myself for these past two years, you're giving me a sense of home and awaken that longing and deep wish in me to create something similar like you and Guido are doing at the moment...one day. Thank you for expanding me and providing me with a beautiful vision for myself xx
The room is coming along beautifully and it heart warming to see family working together! I love the idea of adding a tapestry, some black and white photos and perhaps even a wood bookshelf? 🙃🥰 Passa un buon fine settimana!
I tuned in to see Kylie moving an urn bigger than she is!😂 As usual, everything is just stunning and other worldly. This place makes me feel as if I have gone back in time. I cannot believe you don’t have a million subscribers! Your channel is so...EVERYTHING! It brings me absolute joy. The place is going to be so warm and homey the way you describe it. About the stove, my husband wanted a pellet stove (when we eventually move), but pellets are processed and may become hard to get should economies go into a nosedive. Not to mention, we are older and I don’t really want to be hoisting bags of pellets. I convinced him that a wood stove is the best way to go. On our current property we always have old trees and branches that come down, so it has been easy to come by.
You are doing such a beautiful job restoring this barn house. I pray you are able to enjoy it to the fullest. I agree with you about using the things that you love as often as possible. Life is short and you never know what tomorrow holds. I know people revere their belongings and you want to treat them with care, but it is so much more fun to use the items and celebrate with your loved ones. Cheers!
Congratulations on your subscribers, I love your renovations. We are currently renovating a small residence, but it is not a villa in Italy. I dread when your video comes to the end each week.
Oh god! The moving of the urns made me laugh. Here too, us girls start cry-laughing and peeing ourselves before we even start moving or lifting any heavy, awkward bits of furniture. The mere potential of chaos, dropping things and tripping up is enough to set us off. 😂 Well done, Kylie. It’s looking beautiful ❤️
Yes Kylie, that one in the nightstand is a built-in toilet. Here in the northeastern region where I come from (between Veneto and Friuli), we used to have enameled "pitale" or "vaso da notte". Normally we were keeping them under the bed. In my region they were used until the '50/'60s. For washing the face in the morning people were using also a "catino/bacile" and a "brocca". You're doing a great job with the renovation! I love seeing you getting so excited by the precious and simple things about our culture. That makes me value more what surrounds me. Baci from Motta di Livenza (TV)
I have sometimes wondered if Kylie’s laugh was authentic or if it was part of her on screen persona. Well, after hearing her mother laugh there’s no more question on that point. Their laughs are identical! That rug is *gorgeous* and the colors provide so many decorating options. The room is coming along beautifully and is obviously a labor of love.
Wonderful episode! A few comments: First of all, you are absolutely DARLING! 2. Watching you work with your Dad is beautiful...he ADORES you! 3. Watching you laugh with your Mom is priceless (and infectious). 4. I love the way you think of every detail...it's magical! 5. I would recommend up lighting for the room to enhance the vaulted ceilings, thereby using your electrical outlets on the floor and YES, no ceiling lights! 6. We have been following you the past couple of months as we bought a large historic stone house in Italy last year and have the same challenges as you of redoing the tile roof (as old as Napoleon..Guido, haha!) and oiling the terra cota tiles. You are a hard worker, Kylie! Keep up the great work!
What an amazing space. I’m wondering if there isn’t a way to illuminate the walls from the ground up, or from the top down. Or even along the arches of the gorgeous ceiling. The key of course would be to find ways to make it look ancient such as with black pipe or wood animal yokes or wheel spokes. What a fun project. Can’t wait to see it finished.
All things beautiful.... they can sustain and uplift us. I totally agree with you about our using special things as often as possible. Because of a major change in my livelihood, I have been renting a room and living in other people's homes for several years with my personal things in storage. Life is always evolving and changing, so I look forward to the day when I and my beautiful things are brought together again. I so appreciate your touching outlook on life and doing what you are able to do yourself. That loving attitude is infused in all your actions and projects! Thank you for sharing....
Watching you work so hard with such vision .....it takes my breath away.... to see the transformation. Your eye, your talent, your work ethic, your parents...your instincts. You are magical. Feeling very fortunate to have found you. You are truly one of a kind.
The Ancestors of this house are so proud of how much you love and care for their family home. You are right where you were always supposed to be. The floors are stunning! And yes, that was a potty 🚽 chamber. That way they didn’t have to go outside in the middle of the night or at winter time. It would only been used in emergencies situations. What an amazing find.
Watching you work with your parents, it's easy to see where you get some of your humour, persistence & loveliness from. 😉 They seem so lovely & you all have a wonderful relationship. Wish the world had more wholesomely influential people like you guys in it. 😍💕💕
Dear kylie you are amazing your family mom ,dad wonderful parents , all your videos are unique ,simple beauty ,natural nothing is fancy nothing is fake that’s why it makes your program unique. Wow wow you are excellent designer your living room ,that old architectural drawings become a life again and bring the room more uniqueness, and lamps ,urns are amazing ideas , we love ❤️ you and enjoy all your programs,,thanks a lot and hello from Boring California
Kylie, I love the way you have renovated your cosy Italian Farmhouse Living area. I love your style and your life! Kylie, you are a special person who has so many wonderful characteristics about you. You are full of knowledge, creativity, a fun personality, and such a beautiful human being. and I am so happy for your happiness! You have wonderful parents! You have been very blessed!
Someone already wrote about your dad helping you realizing your dream-really touching ❤️ I love watching the renovations… I am very much in Love with the dining table- gorgeous ❤️❤️❤️
Kylie, this is one of my favourites of your vlog thus far. I loved watching you transform the kitchen and bathroom with your hand painted tiles but seeing the labour of love with which you have embued this room was an absolute pleasure! It is easy to see why you have “turned out” so well when we see your parents dig in with energy and humour to be involved with the process especially whilst moving furniture which must be (next to driving lessons with a loved one) a major test of character. They look like they are so much fun. The floors look quite simply wonderful. All sorts of work but they enhance the beauty of the vaulted ceilings even when the room is empty. And … watching the room fill up with beautiful patinaed (not a word, but you know what I mean) furniture is again such a treat. That wee side table would indeed have been a loo. The pitcher and ever would have sat on top at the right height and the commode would have lived in the cabinet. Think sleeper train compartments. I have done this myself when taking a piece of furniture that has occupied a certain space seemingly forever and suddenly realized it would be better served in another spot. So much fun shopping in your own house. So overall, your appreciation for materials and colour and ambience gives us all that cozy feeling you referred to. This room is already wonderful and we all wait in anticipation for the arrival of the remaining pieces that will complete this room. Sorry for the essay but I am so excited watching your progress! Maybe we have been shut in far too long but I am clearly living vicariously through this decorating odyssey. Best wishes from Southern Ontario, Canada.
Kylie, you have fabulous taste. I really appreciate that you honor the style of where you are and maintain context. The inside is definitely coming together so that there is continuity from the outside in. I also respect you as a fellow designer because you are willing to do the hard work to get it right and you don’t let limitations get in your way, that’s the sign of a true creative. May I suggest a few things to complement your direction, take it or leave it, as you know what you’re doing. Lighting the room: small lighting strips behind the furniture that shoots upward and outward, washing the walls with warm golden soft light. This is non committal and requires no drilling. You can do remotely controlled pieces. The less lines you add to the walls, such as lines from standing lamps, the more you will allow those arches their grandeur. For the sketches, if you have more sketches, you could do two columns and two rows of four sketches. Keep them central to the wall and distant from the arch. This also allows the arch its full geometric impact without other conflicting lines (from the frames) from overworking the eye, and allows negative space. Lastly, just about moving the urns from one place to another, if they are truly thick, with a thick enough rug underneath, they can withstand being rolled over a carpet and it would be easier on you, just need to be sure the rug is thick enough. I also want to say I can’t wait to see your videos approaching Christmas. It’s going to be delightful. I feel so blessed to have your videos. I wish you all your heart’s desire in your renewed home. 💚🤍❤️🦚🎄🌌
You are doing such an incredible job renovating! Your choices are so soulful. I love the white couches---such a great choice. I have had white sofas (slipcovered) for twenty years, raised two children and I just ordered a new white sofa again! For me, slipcovered white sofas have been great because during the cold and flu season, I bleach them and they are clean inside and out. The floors look unbelievably amazing. The architectural drawings are so lovely. I think the idea of all candles in the dining room would be wonderful. Imagine candelabras, candle sconces illuminating the drawings and the soft glow of candles---very Tuscan. Who doesn't love a candlelit meal? What wonderful parents---kudos to them!!! GREAT JOB KYLIE!!!
Decorating the tree!
Lots of memories moving furniture around, which turned into laughter.
I think I want Guido's life. Every time he goes away, he comes home to magic! 💖
@@azzurradesanctis4994 Thank you... Happy Holidays...
@@KylieFlavell Thank you... Happy Holidays Kylie...
I love your father’s attitude to something hard “come on we can make this fun - let’s all do it together”. What a role model ❤️❤️
Very romantic if you think about it, isn't it? Hard work too.
Lovely message and what amazing experiences you had! 💐
I know it well, that area, I grew up in the next town. Magical in every season.
That sounds like a wonderful memory.
Sounds like it was beautiful
Nice memory you have. I live in Edgewater NJ. Do you remember the address of the house, I would like to see if it's still there today.
The Church is beyond beautiful! What a meaningful gift to have your parents helping create your home.❤
The sketches are gorgeous. I suggest you getting them electronically scanned as a back up as they may fade now that they're exposed to sunlight.
Yes I thought the same. It might be better to scan and replace the originals with good quality copies because the light will fade the drawings over time.
U V glass in the frames will protect against fading.Live the brickwork.
Yes please save the originals 🙏
Yes, all materials need to be archival. They will fade, quickly. They’ve lasted this long, it would be a terrible loss.
Have you stabilized the paper? And UV glass is imperative for longevity.
Pradeep
Thank you dear Pradeep.
Well said!
So well said! You summarise so well what draws us all to Kylie’s videos.
That was a poetic translation of the beautiful artistic nature of Kylie.....
Your parents are incredibly helpful, not just from helping in the labor, that is needed but also suggestions in placement and offering ideas. You have a great eye, it
comes with your photography, your love for this warm inviting style that brings your taste and comfort to reality.
Terracotta tiles are still used in Europe today and the modern products are still basically very traditional and available in supermarkets.
Your channel is a reminder that life is beautiful.
Bellissimo
così felice di guardare. X
What I love is seeing the face of Guido when he returns after some days off and see all the changes you and your parents made in his glorious family home... Such a proud man! He is so lucky to have you and the other way around too. Beautiful Family!
I hope Guido knows how lucky he is to be with you. Amazing hard working you and your family are and such lovely taste in decor. He won the lottery!!
I agree! Lamps, no ceiling lamps, will give a cozy feeling and warmth to the house
Please Kylie! Don’t touch that beautiful ceiling! 🙏🏻
What kind of lamps would you recommend?
Yes in England that’s called a commode,
Kylie, the room is just magnificent, not least because it is lived in.
Yes, it’s so lovely. ☺️
@@KylieFlavell how does that work? Is it a trust?
So beautiful and we so agree about loving the things you have and not "saving" them for "special" occasion. Everyday should be special.
Your parents are AMAZING!! What beautiful souls to make their daughters dreams come to reality, you three work so hard that I get a sore back just watching this 😂 Guido must be very thankful, those floors look amazing, you have a brilliant eye for all things beautiful Kylie ❣️♥️
Framing those original drawings, then hanging them in your home is precious! Thank you for sharing your life with all of us!
It’s such a gorgeous space and you are doing beautiful things with it. ♥️
I’m sure many people have told you that the closet is a commode for a chamber pot.
Dear Kylie,
The cinematography is pure poetry. Thank you.
If I'm not mistaken, the nightstand was used to store a chamber pot 🤓
Yes, I think that’s what it was. Funny how we had no idea there was a tiny antique toilet in the bedside table! ☺️
I'm sure the person that used it was really thankful.
That’s what I thought too when she pulled out the drawer with the hole and a handle to remove pot.
Yes, I agree.
I don't have enough words to express the happiness I have when I watch one of your videos...incredible what you guys have done ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I have thought of that several times this week when I’ve been LAZY🙀
Now I say to myself, Kylie would be busy doing something!
Very interesting Kylie . The views look unreal , like paintings .
Today is a major football competition between our local university football team and the second largest university
team in our state.
I have to bring it in during the winder because we do have freezing weather, but I have three huge lemons
on it and they are, as lemons do, slowly ripening.
Happy for You & Guido ❤️
'Am in awe of everything that you are doing to your beautiful historic Tuscan home. Every inch is filled with love.
Absolutely amazing, so beautiful.
How beautiful Kylie! So romantic in all senses. You are fortunate to have a wonderful dad and mom! You are always so inspiring! You are a treasure! 💖

Are you German living in California ?
Just some thoughts for you and Guido :)
Your farmhouse project is coming along so beautifully!!
Just beautiful. And it is so wonderful that your parents were there to help you see your vision, with smiles on their faces! I love everything you do.
Thank you so much! Yes, Guido and I have been having the same discussions about the pellet dilemma. ♥️♥️
I love seeing Guido's face light up at your creativity and accomplishments when he returns. You are unique and he loves for it!
Yes Kylie i'm with you. Life is to live. I use everything i have especially dishes and cups. Thanks for sharing your life.

Kylie's laugh is contagious!!!just love how humble she, they are
Watching you work with your parents, it's easy to see where you get some of your humour, persistence & loveliness from. 😉 They seem so lovely & you all have a wonderful relationship. Wish the world had more wholesomely influential people like you guys in it. 😍💕💕

I appreciate your gentle spirit and the way you cherish the past ways. Thank you for sharing your journey! May God richly bless you and yours!!
Floors are so rich and warm, organic and elegant
Beautiful. Wishing you, and your honeybunny many, many decades of love, fun, health, peace, contentment and prosperity. ❤
