Finally received it, and after three days of solid playing, it's actually better than I thought. No tuning stability issues at all, even with the 9's it came with, and it sounds great, whether played clean, or dirty. Oh, and I especially love the aesthetics of this little thing, the whole reverse offset shtick is way cool.
Got the squier baritone on pre-order here in Australia but the decision between that and the blue sparkle para keeps me up at night! Great review as always
Thanks for the video! One suggestion for improvement in future videos would be to try to eliminate that hissing noise during the talking portions. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the feedback! I'm the "sound guy" for the channel and I honestly didn't notice it but I'm going to listen again soon. Do you have any tips or advice for cutting down on noise?
@@realxandercuck I’m not too sure to be honest but Jack offered one possibility. Another possibility could be noise from the guitar amps if they were mic’ed and those audio tracks are not muted during the talking. Thanks for the reply and I’m looking forward to future videos!
Just came here to say I LOVE your videos. I found you guys on Facebook in a Jazzmaster, Jaguar, and offset group and have been a huge fan ever since. I’m so glad you guys did a demo of this guitar because as a lefty I’m contemplating getting one and modding it to be a true lefty. I was just kinda worried about the pickups and how they sounded stock. Thanks again and keep up the great videos!
Update: Having watched this and similar Super-Sonic videos over the course of the past few days, I finally succumbed to GAS after a 4 year hiatus, and bought one. That blue sparkle just got the better of me. 😜
I have played a few NOS Cobain Jaguars which I have noticed some necks feeling a millimeter smaller or bigger. I think it just depends how they turn out from the Factory.
My OG Vista is also sparkly. Changing tuning machines, saddles and toggle switch with US made is best decision I have made for classic Vista. It stays in Tune forever, saddle doesn’t drift and toggle switch doesn’t make noise when switching between pu’s. And what cosmetics goes painting pickguard red references to Spiderman. And name it Ichi, ‘cause you’ll be ichy when you see a spider, and combine it to Japan naming scheme, Ichi.
I'm only a few minutes into the review but I love what y'all have going on here! I'm looking for a new short scale to replace an old 90s duo sonic, so this is helping a lot towards making a decision.
I see stuff like this and my quest for a good strat I like starts to turn into 'fuck it I should just get a paranormal squier instead'. Very tempting to head to a guitar shop with my Strats and get trading
My 2021 has intonation issues. Anyone has tips? Because I love it and I got it as B-stock, so pricewise it won’t get better. And I always wanted a blue sparkle one, so I don’t want to return it.
Nice job on this review. I just received my Super Sonic in blue sparkle yesterday from CME. Here are my thoughts: PROS -------- -- The aesthetics are ridiculous. The finish is amazing, and the guitar just looks great. -- Pickups are better than expected. They like gain a lot. -- The neck does feel really good. CONS --------- -- There are tuning stability issues out of the box. I didn't own or play a 2019, but there is no way I can play this guitar on stage, or record with it prior to getting this addressed. I do think the changes will be simple and pretty inexpensive. -- There is something funky (and this could just be mine) with the middle position and the neck pickup. Sometimes it's on, sometimes, it's not. -- Are the volume knobs supposed to be backwards? On my Super Sonic the knob closest to the neck is controlling the bridge and vice versa. I'm changing that. -- I might not be used to a neck this thin, but it is really easy to bend notes without intending to do so. Overall, I'm really happy with it - with the mindset that I knew there was going to be some work involved to get the guitar ready for prime time. I'm excited, this will be fun.
All mine need was 11 gauges and threw Xtra spring on the black in back cuz def yoinked the bridge to heaven. 11 gauges slightly tighter block, tlc, blow some week smoke at it and you're ready for Woodstock 99 lol
Do you miss having a tone control? Once upon a time, I had a chance to buy the vista version for 100 bucks and I passed 😒. Thinking about getting one now.
Really interested in getting this guitar. Is the body similar in size to a strat? Or smaller like a Mustang? What things should I get modded if I get one? Tuning pegs? Bridge? Neck? (Never modded before!) Just subscribed. Really like your channel 😍
Go with your guts. Whichever makes you feel the most excited to play. If you're undecided I'd go with the Supersonic because you will always find a Telecaster later. (although I do think that the paranormal series could be here to stay, but you never know !)
Great job the sparkle adds better tone….just kidding.. I love these guitars they really stepped up their quality…I run it through a Plexi and sounds like a tone rich monster
@@WorkingClassMusic How the fudge do these stay in tune though? I read complaints about everywhere and it's my first guitar that I can't keep in tune. (I have an obscene amount of offsets)
@@vrieskip I slapped some 11s (power slinky) on mine, decked the bridge and doesn't go out of tune any more than my telecaster does. I pretty much never use the tremolo and play it like a hardtail guitar. Oh and I mostly play in drop D and Eb. I tried the tremolo for the heck of it and THAT threw it out of tune quick. So I guess as long as you don't use the tremolo and slap some thicker strings on it you really shouldn't have too many tuning issues.
i cannot overstate how much i love this channel

This is the first video of y’all’s I’ve seen and it feels like home. Thank you 🙏
A year later and I'm surprised this model hasn't taken off.
I have it and love it. The blue sparkle is just beautiful.
I wish they would make an Olympic white model
Fender Japan did for this year. It's like 3+ times the cost, but you can find importers online

outstanding video! you guys are my favorite new (to me) guitar channel! subbed!!!
Guitar talk and Sonic references? This channel was made for me!
I’m sold. I don’t need it. But I NEED IT.
“Jus for ol time sake” and played exactly what i wanted to hear 😂🤝🏽

I wish the guy held the guitar for longer, had much more interesting playing imo. His clean tones sounded fantastic too.
The green orange amps in the background are sooooo cool!!! Sleep
That blue sparkle reminds me of the Fender Pawn Shop Series Super-Sonic from the 2010's. Came in red, orange, or gunmetal grey sparkle. Sick guitars.
Great review!
Thank you!!!!
Glad you enjoyed it

Welcome aboard! glad you enjoy our stuff.
We work really hard on it
Damn, you guys are good! I’m starting to think you make the guitar sound good so I gotta temper my expectations for when I play
We just mic things well. Thanks for watching
Immediately subbed. Dope atmosphere and fun to watch. Rad channel 🤙🏼🤙🏼
*Awesome*
thank you!
Nissssssssssssssssssce 🍻
Being a shorter scale how does it handle lower tunings? I use 11s & usually tune D standard & drop C.
Generally going up a gauge is the way to go. I play my short scales in Eb with 11s. So for you a set of 12s should do you nicely!
Handles Drop C like a champ!
@@JasonTMays thanks brother 🍻

yesss a tier list would be dopeee!!!

Did you already applied the changes? If yes, which ones and did it help with the tuning stability / trem use? Would you now play it on stage?
What worked for me is removing the strings from the string trees and putting the trem to the body, rather than floating. Hope that helps!

Am I crazy for thinking it would look great with chrome pickup covers?
sparkle blue and chrome sounds like a beautiful combo!
