I don't think people realize how hard it was to loop that vocal, shrink the loop, and expand it again and release it all in time w the phrasing. That was some dope timing.
I have been djing since 1992 mate, in clubs since 1996. I have 12000 vinyl, 3 x Technics 1210 at my house and 4 x CDJ 2000. I was using sync in the video to showcase all the functionality of the CDJ's whilst mixing 3 decks at all times. Its a 3 minute demo to show all the new functions. Get your ass down to Bristol, bring a bag of records and lets go son.
Seen Eats Everything live twice... Best DJ Ever, Mixing wise and personality in general. He doesnt just turn up for the money, You can tell he does it cause he loves the music! Such a chap! great man
This has been the only listenable showcase of the new CDJ. This is something I can imagine hearing in a club/mix/podcast not just someone pressing all the buttons of the new features for a promo video. Kudos sir!
@alex xandi I am using the headphones to queue the following tracks up. Beat sync doesn't mean that the cue is auto synced also. Plus, I need to select the right part of the next track. I also do not use the auto sync function when I play in clubs and never will, this was purely to showcase the features of the CDJs
If you guys seriously think the ''Sync'' button is taking the essence out of DJ'ing, you guys are wrong. What really matters nowadays is taking the listener on a journey through your set, anyone can learn to beatmatch, but it takes a true DJ time to select their tracks and take their audience on a journey, not many people can do that. Also, this opens up many creative possibilities for artists to use, such as live remixing, etc. Embrace innovation people, this is the future!
Obviously it's over the top to demonstrate the features of the CDJ, but it's refreshing still to see a DJ actually doing something, not just waiting for the song to end so they can press play on the next one.
Exactly mate. My sentiments totally. If you wanna do summat complicated then stick the sync on just in case. If you are just beat matching then who needs the synce, beat matching is the easiest part of djing.
Thank you for posting a fair comment on this video; Pioneer is certainly not the only one to add a Sync feature to their products (and they certainly wont be the last)
Don't hate on the sync button, Instead try Djing with NO sound card OR headphones... When you've been Djing for over 20 years you KNOW every beat matters you don't have to PRETEND you're doing something when you're djing,(like waste time syncing EVERY single track by hand), because you'll be busy ACTUALLY djing like Mr.EatsEverything here just clearly demonstrated. (He demonstrated BOTH actually if you were paying attention.) All the tracks he spun were all his productions too! Hands up for EATS! (First Track: Entrance Song - Eats Everything Last Track: Jazz Hands - Eats Everything) Thank YOU Eats...
For sure this guy has some mad skills, but we should not forget that Pioneer has set an enormeous focus on sync functions that allow DJ's to do really crazy stuff. Without sync the whole thing would go off-beat pretty fast, it's truly amazing what players of the latest generation offer to their users. But there's no doubt that this was an impressive mix, I'll give him a thumb up :o)
This is a sick video with awesome tune selection and lots of skill ... Anyone who differs really haven't got a clue! I've been djing for 14 years (8 years professionally) .. started on Soundlab DLP3's, then 1210's, then CDJ's and I also use Traktor and Serato now and again (I like them both). People complaining that they have a sync button and other functions seriously need to wake up and smell the coffee!
Even if I don't really use this music genre..... For me, this is the best presentation video for the cdj 2000! You really know how to use the loop out to transform a simple voice sample into....another musical instrument! :) Love that.... and the other tricks too ;) !
You have no idea how much I'm looking forward to seeing you and Mark Knight new years! I saw you at Solstice which was phenomenal! You're unbelievable I really do hope you go far, see you soon buddy!
Lol My cousins going to see you tonight in NYC and he's blasting the ticket links on facebook ! Pissed off that I'm 22 and he JUST today decided to share you're name with me. I'm hungry for more beats, and food ): Thanks a lot bro! Keep killin it :D
love this, sweet, you can have a lot of creative fun with this hardware, to bad I am not able to have a set yet, mad respect for anyone who can get a set of these to play with, o how mixing from tables have changed so much. He worked that equipment and thats what counts. Bravo!
The Sync button is there to give a Dj more time to use samples/fx/mic/ & brings the creativity of s mix up 100% so stop hating and get with the times... As much as we love it, We've come a long way from vinyl, So Embrace the Future of Djing
I live in the states, Texas, and had not heard your stuff till this Nexus video. I dig your sound. Downloaded all I could find on iTunes, Beatport etc..great stuff buddy. Would love to see vids of your production setup etc... Keep Rawkin!
Track list is wrong. It should say Bear Chills - R.E.M (Eats Everything Rechill) instead of 4th stooge. I was wondering why he didn't release that song, until I Shazam'd it.... duhh!!
It's not even necessary to beat him in a challenge :D you have a very unique and inspiring style and although some people may not like the music (style) you are playing, I find your mixing very relaxed , keep it up ^^!
I was just explaining why people rant about it. Its not about me, personally. Its not about the beat matching either, its about a pcb doing all the work for you. Its about the fact someone with real skill doing it manually cant compete with a PCB + Noob DJ anymore.. But I forgot, its about a playlist you made on your Mac and reading a crowd, who cant do that after a few years? I believe making things easier and easier will lead to Djs becoming skill-less pop stars, its getting that way already.
EE your killing me with tunes!! Love the mix. Please please what is the first track you start this set with! BiiiiiG track , also the last track you drop, which sounds like one of your productions? Keep Banging.
I love that they finally added slip mode to the 2000 series. Before this, 900 was the best way to be creative with cratching, looping, backspins and furthermore. Now they just need to make a mixer with the capabilities of beating the 850 mixer. :P
'Good enough for Richie Hawtin, good enough for me'. I can't agree more!! I have also been a dj that doesn't agree with sync buttons etc. but I'm also open to new ideas and if this is gonna help me remix and add perfect fx when playing live it, can't be a bad thing. Any dj worth anything won't use the sync continuously anyway. I know I wouldn't.
the equipment will never replace good taste in music, so people shouldn't worry. a great tool in the right hands. lets hope dj's dont turn their sets into a clusterfest of fidgeting just because they can. it can make great music unlistenable.
I have been djing for 20 years and can mix a vinyl record in about 2 seconds, the same as a CD. I don't get the beef with the sync button? Yeah, if you're a beginner you should learn to mix on vinyl but if you have been in it a long time then if it enable you to do loads of crazy shit then I'm all for it. Plus, this mix is to showcase what the players can do, I don't do all of these effects the whole time. People need to embrace the future. Good enough for Richie Hawtin its good enough for me.
Great demo dude. best of the 3 that's available. Well played. You should lash an ipad to the 4th channel and apply some gater fx to give some sidechain to the ipad. then a basic synth app will give some great results.
it may be off his new upcoming dirtybird ep. i was supposed to receive an advanced copy last night but it got pushed back a few weeks so we'll just have to wait and see.
The Majority of People rant about sync feature. Were in the 21st century. This had to happen one day? People argue about this becoming easier for an average joe to start? well i suggest you rise above it. The sync feature will allow you to do more stuff whilst not having to think about beat matching. This will lead to more creativity behind your workflow. As for Eats Everything his just simply a talented dj. well done sir
Its funny how they concentrate on this device as cdj players but gloss over the fact that is one deck midi controller that can be controlled wirelessly or wired via your phone, computer or tablet and is compatible with all major dj software. But I think rekordbox is all that is needed and the other dj software and cd's wont be needed anymore. DJing just got tens time easier and people are embracing it a little more. Finally something we can all agree on.
Spot the comments from people who aren't DJs = everyone moaning about the sync button. It's not permanently switched on guys. It doesn't stop you from beat matching manually. Engage brain before typing!
I don't think people realize how hard it was to loop that vocal, shrink the loop, and expand it again and release it all in time w the phrasing. That was some dope timing.
Slip Mode with the looping mate aha, not a difficult task but eats everything did it perfectly as per usual
+Ben O Connor damn you're right. didn't notice the light on lol still sick tho
I have been djing since 1992 mate, in clubs since 1996. I have 12000 vinyl, 3 x Technics 1210 at my house and 4 x CDJ 2000. Me: "Shutup and take my money!"
Pioneer: "We did and it wasn't even enough for the mixer.."
Seen Eats Everything live twice... Best DJ Ever, Mixing wise and personality in general. He doesnt just turn up for the money, You can tell he does it cause he loves the music! Such a chap! great man
The price of al that beatiful equipment is over 9000!
This has been the only listenable showcase of the new CDJ. This is something I can imagine hearing in a club/mix/podcast not just someone pressing all the buttons of the new features for a promo video. Kudos sir!
Literally love Eats! Always has that slight look that he has no idea whats going on but always absolutely smashes it!
@alex xandi I am using the headphones to queue the following tracks up. Beat sync doesn't mean that the cue is auto synced also. Plus, I need to select the right part of the next track. i can listen to this a million times and not get tired, that last track is just too amazing...
Thank you for posting a fair comment on this video; Pioneer is certainly not the only one to add a Sync feature to their products (and they certainly wont be the last)
By far one of the best DJ's i'v ever heard.
This is the best out of all the CDJ-2000 Nexus demos.
Don't hate on the sync button, Instead try Djing with NO sound card OR headphones... You realise these are all his own production, right? That's what's impressive more than anything.
Impressionante a qualidade técnica desse cara, tira 100% do que o equipamento oferece!!!! Top demais, cara tu é fora do planeta....kkkkkkk
For sure this guy has some mad skills, but we should not forget that Pioneer has set an enormeous focus on sync functions that allow DJ's to do really crazy stuff. eats everything! best producer and dj around at the minute, top boy!!!
Even if I don't really use this music genre..... For me, this is the best presentation video for the cdj 2000! You really know how to use the loop out to transform a simple voice sample into....another musical instrument! :) Love that.... and the other tricks too ;) !
What a Boss, he killed it with the reverse switch. Very cool techniques used in this video.
Eats everything is so AWESOME! Sweet little showcase!
You have no idea how much I'm looking forward to seeing you and Mark Knight new years! I saw you at Solstice which was phenomenal! You're unbelievable I really do hope you go far, see you soon buddy!
Looks beast. The on-point loop function and sync opens up new amazing possibilities
goodbye Vinyl, was a pleasure to meet you
Brilliant mate. Loving what you do with the rev's! Haters hate, creators create.
Lol My cousins going to see you tonight in NYC and he's blasting the ticket links on facebook ! Pissed off that I'm 22 and he JUST today decided to share you're name with me. I'm hungry for more beats, and food ): Thanks a lot bro! Keep killin it :D
Loving the fact it's all run off one use pen. Think it's mental. Wouldn't mind having a go on that set up.

hmm i respect the deep house selection and his mixing style. I was, at first, confused about his mixing, but I caught on. He's got his own style.
Well done Dan.... Done Bristol proud!!!!!

Eats Everything - Cause Of You. Needs to be released it is another level bring on NYD warehouse project!
Eats Everything you rock man ,awesome video!!!
Very creative
Even if you consider it simple, its effective and an amazing mix/set.
Track list is wrong. It should say Bear Chills - R.E.M (Eats Everything Rechill) instead of 4th stooge. I was wondering why he didn't release that song, until I Shazam'd it.... duhh!!
Been searching for this tune since I first heard it... Thank you so much!❤️
i really loved this track, this guy rocks
It's not even necessary to beat him in a challenge :D you have a very unique and inspiring style and although some people may not like the music (style) you are playing, I find your mixing very relaxed , keep it up ^^!
Totally different level from the other dj's! Definitely inspiring !
I like it. Good performance
That dude knows to mix stop judging appearance!
Appearance should have no effect on how ppl view djs like eats everything
fantastic demostration.... fantastic...
Amazing - nice new features and amazing DJ!
Sir, you just nailed it.
Someone finally posted the song at the beginning of this vid!!! type in "Eats Everything - Because of you" I've been searching for this for AGES!!!
That manual loop adjust is sick!
The mightybuda approves of your mixing Eats Everything :-)
The mixed in Key function is invaluable so you can mix in the right tracks

Damn, this was creative. Eat Everything mate, you're danm goooood
Great vmix! The speakers are sick too
So much win! Eats Everything you made my day! Totally agree with you.
Just flashy enough, and gets everyone dancing. This man is the fucking don.
Pioneer have really thrown the proverbial sync at the nexus
Nice groove :) Looks like another wave of booth upgrades are in store for us all. :)
I like the smooth songs he has used
DJ'S don't really impress me these days (They have it too easy), but u got it bro***
It's nice to see some actual talent for a change. Nicely done.
EE your killing me with tunes!! Love the mix. Please please what is the first track you start this set with! BiiiiiG track , also the last track you drop, which sounds like one of your productions? Keep Banging.
Best five minutes of my life...
I love that they finally added slip mode to the 2000 series. Before this, 900 was the best way to be creative with cratching, looping, backspins and furthermore. Now they just need to make a mixer with the capabilities of beating the 850 mixer. :P
Great job Mr. Eats Everything!!! Great job sir! :)

ohh ahah classic mix up! no man i love eats everything, i was bouncing to this whole set, really enjoyed it!
Well. I am not big fan of Pioneer but I have to admit. They are years ahead of everything else.
'Good enough for Richie Hawtin, good enough for me'. I can't agree more!! I don't normally get involved but this guy is such a tosser I thought I would just my two pennies in. Glad you liked it mate.

Great demo dude. best of the 3 that's available. Well played. You should lash an ipad to the 4th channel and apply some gater fx to give some sidechain to the ipad. then a basic synth app will give some great results.
Cool, can't wait to test these :-)
Awesome. Wish I had a pair of these unfortunately money is always an issue.
Hmm. His loop/tempo technique at the start... anybody know if that has a name? Such an easy little trick with some really cool uses.
it may be off his new upcoming dirtybird ep. i was supposed to receive an advanced copy last night but it got pushed back a few weeks so we'll just have to wait and see.
Bear Chills - R.E.M. - eat's everything rechill ... look it up ! it's one of th etunes on it.
few bangers there from eats.
You are my hero, see you in Sydney soon
I want these! and dude was throwing down on the house tracks! respect. .oh well looks like ill just settle for ddj sx for now.
The Majority of People rant about sync feature. Were in the 21st century. This had to happen one day? east everything is a absolute beauty !!
just what we need ANOTHER set of decks to add to the pile!
really wanna see this dude live. Would be amazing.
yeee best thing would be that it mixes from itself! -.- pioneer made amazing stuff already, there is not much too add.
Its funny how they concentrate on this device as cdj players but gloss over the fact that is one deck midi controller that can be controlled wirelessly or wired via your phone, computer or tablet and is compatible with all major dj software. That's MR Eats Everything to you :P
