If you want to race digital then the C7042 6 Car APB that you showed is by the far the superior powerbase in almost every way, you can link it to laptop and using FTDI USB cable and with two pit lane sensors and RCS64 software on laptop you have pace sector pace cars/fuel/tyre sims etc. on the big telly, there really is nothing else on the market than can touch this setup (unless you spend serious money on a system like Oxigen). It also runs in analogue mode still giving you race stats etc. Main difference between analogue and digital is that in analogue each lane has it's own DC power supply and using a variable resistor in the controller you allow more current through motor to speed car up etc. A very simple electrical circuit. Note though that the more advanced power bases use PWM to control the analogue DC power output. With digital the entire track including pits is 'one lane' and you can drive the car anywhere. The track is always on (constantly powered) and the digital chip in the car controls how much of that power goes to motor so you can control the car. My track uses C7042 APB and is 10by5 with 6 XLC lane changers, 3 CLC lane changers and dual pit lane ;-)
Life gets in the way 🤣 3kids and a job leaves little time for making videos 😞 Although now we have built a new room dedicated to hobby / Scalextric so hopefully more videos to come. I need to learn how to edit too 😁. Check out the new vid with the room 👊
The base shown at 1:09 also has a switch which allows it to be used to control 1 or 2 cars. This allows use the use of one crossover track to give a continuous circuit for one car. There is a similar looking power base that doesn't have the switch, which can't be used to run just 1 car on a continuous circuit, if that makes sense.
👋 👋 👋 im a newbie i was thinking 🤔 of getting that knight rider bttf racetrack but i would love the cars to slide and drift and jump. Would that work on that racetrack? Is that possible to do. Just curious. I like seeing the cars slide and drift and ju😊
@@MrAndMrsEV You'll notice an improvement with a second power supply, even on just 2 cars. If you're running 4 or more cars, you really need that 2nd power unit. Track length issues can be sorted with jumper cables.
Men you did good at telling us ,awesome. I subscribed. Good job.😊

Really good video mate, well done
How have I only just seen this and why are you not making videos anymore! Great video mate ❤

Thanks for the information, It's appreciated 🤘
I need 1sport power base
Great video, explained really well.
Is there anyway to use a Pace car with an Analogue set using any of the powerbases?
I need to find one sport powerbase. I have the older track a classic track I need a power base.

Should work no problem, just godda practice a little bit 😎
👍👍👍Nice
With Arc Air Pro and running analogue cars how many transformers are required thanks Tim
I'm running ArcPro using 2 power inputs, I have a 19m track. It also works well with 1 power input.
@@scalextric-hobby thanks deciding on this or the older C7042 system
