- Join me in part two of this amazing Victorian transformation in the historical downtown of Traverse City. Back in May, we did a walkthrough video of the property, and it’s incredible how much we have gotten done, although we still have a long way to get to the finishing touches. Join us as we show you what we have accomplished so far on this epic stunner!
My Grandfather was a master carpenter, he would be so pleased to see the work of true craftsmen. Inside and out, landscape included, as gardening was his realizing passion.

Jack, I appreciate being able to see and hear about the prep and infrastructure work it takes in order to implement the vision you have for each project. It has helped me slow down and think more thoroughly through what I need to do in order to make the finished project look the way we want it to. Ah, you make me wish for a few more months of summer so I can complete some projects. That flagstone path looks beautiful. I may end up hiring that project out. At 66, I know my limitations. I can't even carry a bag of soil to my backyard without getting winded.
This is going to be a beauty when it is all done. Great job Jack and Emory and staff. Can't wait to see the inside also. It looks like it should be on Mackinac Island.

I nearly jumped when I saw the sign in your brother’s shop!!! So TRUE-LOVE WOODEN BOATS!! Well everyone, you guys NEVER disappoint! It is SO beautiful! Love all the detail work Emory is doing. I KNOW the plantings will and already are lovely! For the builders, FINALLY I see a GENEROUS staircase off a porch! I have NEVER understood why people attach teeny tiny staircases to homes that only one person can fit while walking up or down. I was raised in Michigan and spent the most years of my life in New England-same thing!! 🤔

Jack, if I had it to do over again I'd go get my landscape architecture degree then intern for you! And your brother Emory is my idol!! Wooden boat making is amazing...perfect for Seattle. Does Emory know any good woodworkers in Seattle he can recommend (for hardscape)? We have the Center for Wooden Boats here but their focus is only boats.

How often will those fence panel be painted?
It is a solid color stain- so the wood is soaked in well with 2-3 coats at installation. It likely will need cleaned, and fresh coated with a thin touch up coat about every 6-8 years.
