Love it...when i was young i was broke and couldnt afford high price stuff for my boats so i made my own,,now that im retired and have lots of cash i still build my own stuff for my boat,,no way i will pay 650 for a pole mount for a transducer for front of boat, disgusting how bad prices have got on boats and gear,,,great easy to understand video,,stay safe
Ima be honest I've been looking for a way to mount my transducer to my John boat for a couple weeks and I didn't want to drill any holes. This is brilliant just brilliant. Now I don't run the risk of breaking my transducer off because I can pick it up anytime I need to. Thank you guys a lot
That is really a nifty idea. I think I’m gonna do this on my 14 foot Jon just for the transducer and use the pvc pipe and a cap as conduit to run my wires over my transom. Then run it up to my head unit on my casting deck. I’ve got about 20 of those c clamp rod holders. Best idea I’ve seen all summer and I won’t have to worry about scuffing up my wires. Thanks for the idea.
You probably dont give a damn but does any of you know of a way to log back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot my login password. I love any tricks you can offer me
@Elliott Braylon I really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and im trying it out atm. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I loved using the PVC pipe for this. I can't imagine how much this would cost if you went out and bought it. One little thing. I am pretty sure you can get a cap that has a flat top.
Well done, men! Simple, effective and CHEAP! Been looking at ways to mount my finder on the inflatable dingy and this really combines the transducer and display into one easy-on/easy-off system. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you for the video. It helped me alot. I used your method and idea to use on my kayak. I made sure I subscribed and will continue to watch your video's
Hey J.R. great vid, been struggling with mounting my transducer on an 8' mini bass boat i picked up at a garage sale, from the little i can see of the boat your using to mount yours on it, the front looks similar to mine, so thanks. if your boat is in indeed a lil two man plastic boat, would love a video on other mods you may have done....tight lines, ken in California
Ken thanks for watching. This is a way to mount it on its on. You can actually mount in on your trolling motor the same way and the vibration wont affect the radar detection. I just dont like it above the propeller ya know.
Chris Hunsucker thanks alot man. Im still learning everyday. Thanks for the support. Soon RFR is going to take it to the next level and i hope your there to see brother.
I really like your idea. However, i struggle to find the clamp (not the rod holder clamp). What is the name of that clamp and where do i find it? Thanks.
tom huynh thats actually a very old clamp. You'd probably find it at a pawn shop. If you have a trolling motor you can actually mount your transducer to that under water the same way.
Gary I do this for the love of it and with the knowledge i have of fishing... Im glad you like the toons. Please share how you would have done it. Theres more than one way to skin a cat.

I really like your idea. However, i struggle to find the clamp (not the rod holder clamp). What is the name of that clamp and where do i find it? Thanks.

Gwen Leonard Thanks alot. It only gets better! Your support means alot!!!
You bet.
where can i find a similar c clamp?
Try ace hardware
why not just marine epoxy a 4 sq 3.4" block of wood to one of the toons. Then screw your transducer to that?
Gary I do this for the love of it and with the knowledge i have of fishing... Im glad you like the toons. Please share how you would have done it. Theres more than one way to skin a cat.
