    • @ArtanisKizrath
      @ArtanisKizrath 4 роки тому +13

      Kerr & the Death Lineup pioneered the fully switching defense and the multiple playmakers in a lineup. Prior to them, for on-ball screens, it was either drop coverage or fighting through screens.
      The multi-skilled lineup really paved the way to these new play styles both offensively and defensively.

      This is not new as this is how they played defense when they took the Warriors to 7 games. Switch forces teams to ISO so you better have good ISO scorers. OKC doesn't and it shows.

      Their defense is very similar actually. Jeff Green is like Iguodala, House is like Klay, and Tucker is like a slower Draymond. They’re all versatile defenders. This team could win it all if they prioritize defense and don’t chuck up contested jumpers

      Harden can play man-to-man play defense because but he has very low defensive awareness to guard off ball. He also don't put enough effort to keep up with guards and just play matador defense in the perimeter.
      So, yes, overall he's still a bad defender with the exception of man-to-man post-up defense.

    I just want to point out that I’m really impressed with Danuel house jr. He started with the rockets manly a spot up shooter but has grown to the point to where he’s creating his own shots, driving to the basket, doing step backs, and playing good D. The only thing i think he needs work on is his playmaking and a couple more weeks in the gym working on his handle and he can become a top 75 player im the league

    • @limpdaddy7147

      Graeme Stonehouse for sure i totally agree with that. The only reason i said 75 was because i didn’t want to debate anyone on it so i kinda low balled it and because I’ve seen some top 100 list that don’t include him. All he needs is what I’ve already listed and consistency but the talent is already there

    • @ihavenocommonsensebut2008

      godzilla love sushi lmao the rockets have a better chance at doing something than okc. Nobody thought he was bad it’s just that CP3 contract was not worth it for what he was doing. If okc had a second big name star he’d be a problem but they have a lot of Young talent so it works out. Another thing is that Westbrook is doing better here than at okc. If you want to blame anyone blame the management. Houston has been able to put a team around Westbrook that fits him while in Oklahoma the gm just put people that didn’t fit Westbrook. Another thing is that the only reason okc is good is because that trade with PG13. I promise you CP3 alone wouldn’t do that with the team y’all had last year. I’d say okc got a steal from the clippers.

    • @ihavenocommonsensebut2008
      @ihavenocommonsensebut2008 4 роки тому

      godzilla love sushi i mean Lebron is was an explosive player and he’s doing fine. And for them winning who knows. There are many teams this year that have a chance. The rockets aren’t my favorite to win but there’s definitely a chance. I feel like harden and Westbrook complete each other. Westbrook brings that intensity that harden has lacked and Westbrook doesn’t need to make difficult shots anymore since harden is with him. Again nothing is guaranteed but they can do it with enough focus

    • @ihavenocommonsensebut2008
      @ihavenocommonsensebut2008 4 роки тому

    Lots of people bash on the Rockets because their offense is kinda boring to watch with all the isos, but man they're missing a lot on the defensive end. they're doing great honestly, they felt inconsistent during RS at times, but when they're focused they're grindy. I think post ups aren't the answer either, because they should be covering what they allow on defense with the extreme 3 game on offense; Lakers will put them to a real test if both teams go on the second round and that will probably be an amazing match up to watch, Davis was scary in game 2.

    OKC needs to switch out my man steven if they wann get around that Defense, because they need to stretch the floor if they don't stretch it makes it harder to penetrate that defense, ik we use to use a almost completely same defense in school it worked well, but could be picked apart by smart teams.

    Harden is mocked for his bad defense... But I say he has improved a lot. Deflections and steals every game. Also, Lou Dort has gotta be the best defensive rookie followed by Thybulle. The way Dort shut down Harden was amazing..if he can improve his shooting next season, he's gonna be a great two way player to watch out in the future.

    lack of spacing , movement, and a dynamic big to challenge the smaller defenders is what the problem is. And just overall lack of creativity on offense, typical Billy Donovan. He’s a solid coach, but just isn’t great in offensive play design. Houston is playing decent defense too.
