Dede it wasn't free, I payed for you to give birth here in Canada. I hope your child will grow up and contribute to the Canadian economy in the future.
Please which province are you, am presently planning to move to manitoba to give birth to my baby but i dont know how to go about it, am on a work permit visa and presently at Ontario.
Hello. Please how long did your visa application take? Did you indicate in the application forms that you were going to give birth? Also which airline let you on board at 37 weeks? Did they require medical report to confirm how many weeks pregnant you are? I look forward to your response. Thank you
Hi, visa application took about a month(this was Covid era). I did not indicate as I have family here in Canada. I flew with Lufthansa and got a medical fit to fly from port health authority
Hello thanks for the video. Please how long did it take for the clinic to contact you back that they could take you after reaching out to them? And did you self refer yourself to the clinic where you got an OB/GYN to see you or did you have to get a family doctor refer you to the clinic? I'm somewhat in this position just moved to Canada, I'm 31 weeks pregnant. I do have OHIP. I got a family doctor in a walk in clinic to refer me to an OB but yet to get a callback... To be fair its just been about 48hrs the referral was sent and i was told to give it like a week. Do I keep contacting other places while waiting for a response or wait till i get a positive or negative reply? I'd really appreciate your reply. Thanks
Hi Olaide, I got a verbal acceptance when i called the office asking if they were taking non-insured patients. I didn’t need a referral as I had informed them I was uninsured and visiting the country so had no family doctor. I’ll advise you reach out to your family doctor to get an update on the referral.
Hi! I'm planning to come to Ontario, Canada in December as a tourist to give birth. I would like to know how much money should I have on my bank statement to show that I have sufficient funds for delivery. And the questions of immigration officers and your answers. Like did you say "I'm going to visit my family and deliver my baby here in Canada" then after that what did they say and what they ask for.
Have as much money as possible, cause delivery cost is variable based on how delivery goes it can range from a low amount to a higher amount. Yes, I mentioned I was visiting family and coming to have my baby. I was just asked to show documentation of the family I was visiting and given access
Lovely video 👍 what was the cost for scans, lab and doctors. Also I’d like to ask, did you do antenatal checkups prior to your giving birth and if yes, what was the cost
Thanks for sharing. You still left your viewers hanging, though. You should have researched to find out why the government waved out your bill. The viewers want to know why and how because they want to learn, not just to hear. Congratulations!
@@Detomi_a Thank you for your answer. In fact, I heard from your video it was due to covid-19. Actually, my curiosity is finding out in what way covid-19 impacted the government decision making on wavering the bill. I speak in terms of provincial or national policy influenced by covid-19.
I might be wrong but I think it was an Ontario policy cause I know someone who gave birth around the same time as I did in Calgary whose fees were not waived. Bills were waived for people without OHIP due to the high number of people who were “trapped” on a visiting visa in the province as a result of the COVID lockdown
I really love your courage that was a big risky but we thank god every thing went well. Pls I want to beg you to pls reduce the sound of subscribe bells some of us are using ear iPod Is too loud to the hear pls. I look forward to see more videos thanks
Hello dear, i have some questions to ask. *pls i would like to know if i will be needing any history report from my doctor in nigeria before i get into Canada? *Or i will just get into Canada and try getting a doctor there dir all s check's? *Then plss do i need to pay like half of my hospital bill to the hospital before getting to Canada? * will the hospital ask for proof of my accommodation for me and my baby? *Pls last question, pls give me an estimate of total money i would pay for everything once i get into yhe hospital.
Hi 1. You would need you medical report from Nigeria 2. Some hospitals require you to pay a deposit upfront 3. The hospital shouldn’t ask for your accommodation status. 4. Estimate varies depending on how the delivery goes but it ranges from 15,000CAD and above. Usually way more than that.
@@BATOOLESK The clinic i used is listed in the description box. You'll just have to do a lot of research and reach out to as many hospitals/clinics/midwives as you can
If you watched the whole video you would see where I stated this was a covid relief and also how much it would cost on average to give birth here. People are advised to carry out their research before making such a trip.
I had my baby over 2.5years ago and so far no bill whatsoever. I also have a MyChart account where I saw the bill going down till it was completely waived. I have been in Canada for almost 2 years and I am owing zero dollars for childcare(confirmed by the hospital).
Okay. No problem and good for you if that's what happened. My only issue is that it's misleading as people will hope the same happens for them when it is the first time I hear this. I have received hospital bills for family members I invited to visit me months after they left. Sometimes the process is slow but the bills always come. This is a special case not a general. My mom was here during covid and I paid all her hospital bills at that time. Hospital 🏥 can be very expensive in Canada 🇨🇦 just don't want people to fall into a trap. Sorry if I offended you.
Probably because of COVID crisis. The government wave out Hosiptal bill, but the doctors fee must be paid
Good on you Dede - you made it . - it's always a miracle - yours, Andy
Hello...Im trying to find an OBGY in Scarborough...u have an recommendation

Thanks for the video.
The figures you mentioned was in what currency? Your statement are not consistent
The currency is CAD, which of the statement is not consistent?
Name of hospital?
Can you explain full process … step by step how we contact doctor nd how we can give birth
Did you declare you were 37 weeks pregnant to the airline when you were travelling?
Yes I did.

Please can you assist with a contact at Nigerian embassy in Ottawa? I need to get my baby's ETC for travel
Did you declare at the POE that you were going in to give birth or for a visit?
I stated both, I have family based here and I was heavily pregnant.
How much did you have at the port of entry that was not enough🤔🤔 and how much is required if you may answer me plz
Last I checked there is no required amount to have. I had cash enough to cover the doctors fee

Any reason you needed to reach out to midwife?
Not exactly, I just wanted to have a plan in place before I arrived.

Cost varies depending on the hospital you would be making use of. So far on average is about 20,000-30,000 CAD
@abbot7111 ??
Please what questions were you asked at the immigration? thank you
Hi, questions were centred around what I was coming to do in Canada, who I would be staying with and how I planned to pay for the delivery.
Lovely video 👍 what was the cost for scans, lab and doctors. Also I’d like to ask, did you do antenatal checkups prior to your giving birth and if yes, what was the cost
Each scan was about 80CAD, lab test was about 120 CAD.
Yes I did antenatal checkups but wasn’t billed for those at the clinic I used
@@Detomi_a thank you for the swift response ☺️
Please kindly share the name of the hospital used and doctor's contact
I used Ottawa Hospital General Campus, I don’t have the contact of the doctor I used.
When did u get into canada what week ? And did the immigration press you ?
This was in 2021, immigration just asked the typical question- where I would be staying and how much I was coming in with.
So arriving Canada, is it okay to let the immigration know that you are pregnant? Even when yiur pregnancy isnt obvious?
That’s up to you.
What if I don't have a relative that can invite me over

Are you allowed to pay the hospital bill in parts or are you forced to pay up front?
Yes, payments can be made in installments.

This is a Miracle. Can you find out if it's still free?
Hi, can’t speak on if the government is still covering medical bills at this moment.
I contacted multiple hospitals . You will have to pay a deposit upfront , and if its an emergency they will bill you after the delivery
I worked with a clinic first , and only used the hospital for delivery so I never had to pay upfront.
