I use "Just a Fold" book protectors from Brodart in my library. They can be folded or cut to the correct size; I buy the rolls in 10" and it works for most of hardcovers.

Omg, I had the same issues with Spoiler Alert, I couldn't stand the Heroine. She drove me nutters. I did enjoy All the Feels though. I especially enjoyed the hero, his ADHD was very relatable for me. I can see how some people didn't enjoy it but it worked well for me.
