Thanks, Andrew - the salving in the 1970's is full of interesting stories. I was introduced to Dougall Campbell who ran the salvage work from 1971 to about 1977 and he gave me lots of good information about those days, which added a full 37 pages to Dive Scapa Flow when I incorporated them all.

I get recovering copper/brass/alloys from the wreck, but why the torpedo tubes?
Torpedo tubes are usually the 1st thing a salvor takes (other than props) - they are 13-20 tons of non ferrous metal and very valuable
