i can only imagine the joy when general leclerc led his armor division into paris..the allies were intending to bypass paris but bradley patton and eike were persuaded to allow leclerc to proceed to paris..a great moment in world history! sidenote the 28th division marched through paris and straight into battle..sadly the 28th was subjected to a horrific fight in the Hurtgen Forrest..
