The prenup was not only due to ex wife but alao Kouri was a cashier at Home Depot when they met.
Also the mother presented the preup for the following.
It was written by both Eric and Kouri.
They planned it. Mother was the witness.
It had to be signed on the day of the nuptials. In most and LDS tradition the bride and groom cannot see eachother the day of the wedding. The mother presented it to Eric also. Witnessed both of them signing it. She didnt pop it on her the day of!

I have worked for Home Depot for 13 years next month. Fun fact 90% of our executive team start off as a cashier or sales floor staff, not all of us are like Kouri. In my opinion, Kori is a spoiled brat, who is out of control, even Eric spoiled her.

@@NonnieAnn nobody is attacking or criticizing you. We don’t even know you. The POINT is that Eric had a wildly successful business, and she was a part time cashier looking for a man with a wildly successful business, someone that she could live off, like the parasite that she is, while sleeping around and stealing from her husband.

    • @mandyohlin6886

@NonnieAnn I didnt mean anything towards Home Depot's or any other cashier. I've been one, My son's first job outside of fast food was home Depot, then he went to the Air Force. I was just making the point that she didn't have much when she met Eric.
You are partially right though, Eric spoiled her in the beginning. But being spoiled does not cause you to Lie, cheat, steal and premeditate the murder of those around you.
So I don't count being spoiled as a cause of this case.

@@TanikaTwoCents this may be a long answer 😖 from what I have read and seen, researched.. Living in Wyoming we get a lot of small news out of Utah, Idaho, Montana and the Dakota's. His death was in our news just as regular news . He was a business owner, his family are cattle ranchers,( big thing here) we have a meth and fentanyl problem in rural areas worse than cities. First they announced his death, then cause. Then it was stories about her, more about her, the perfect mother and wife that lost her husband to drugs after she wrote the book and got on national news for it.
His family, both her friends and Eric's, people she worked with while they dated, have all said he spoiled her. they met when she was a cashier, Eric would come thru buying supplies for his business. Someone told one of them the other was interested, they went on one date, another, and another. He always paid, and bought her high end gifts. Took her on trips everywhere. Helped pay bills, folded her into his close net family. "Gave her what she had never had before". They had agreed before the marriage of the prenup, once children were born she would stay home and raise the kids to a certain age. He would pay for everything and supply her with funds for whatever. She got bored, wanted the high end spotlight, being a mother wasn't enough . She had numerous business ideas she asked Eric to finance. She finally settled on real estate classes, got certified. Her goal was to buy and flip with investors then collect the rewards. Eric agreed to finance the start. It never worked out. She lied and lied, spending his money, dropping in the hole further and further. Even thou Eric was the main investor, had 50% decision on buys she never listened to him. But he continued to support her, even as she financially bombed. The house they lived in after 9 years of marriage was all paid for by Eric, her cars, her high end clothes, numerous high end vacations each year, Eric paid for and continued to support her dreams in every way no matter the bad until he found that she was stealing from the company. She had taken from his personal accounts and savings numerous times but he loved her, the boys were his world. he drew the line on the business. It wasn't all his. He was responsible to his partner. And she tried to kill him twice before. He told his friends he was sure she had cheated many times but he loved her and wanted it to work. He finally broke, changed his will, set the trust into his sister's name. That woman/monster was a spoiled rotten wench. He gave her everything in every way, even when he knew he would lose he still gave her what she wanted. That is spoiled, from day one. I feel her mother also spoiled her in all the ways she could, maybe not financially, but you can tell from letters, all her mom has said to the press, she was and still is a spoiled brat in the family.
Idk it's hard to put into words all the things I've kept up on with this case.
When she wrote that book, local news then national pointed out she used all their real names and photos in the jacket also. I about 🤢. The children cannot legally consent to having their lives plastered across the world like that.
The mansion... Eric told her no from the day she showed him the listing. He told her people had already tried, it was such a money pit they had lost out and had to sell. Twice from what I found on property records, people with $ has tried to rehab it and sell, or turn into a resort. It's old, right now and at the time of Eric's death market was low here, people weren't buying, building materials are at an all time high. He told her he didn't want anything to do with it. They fought over it for weeks. Her telling all she was buying it with in investors, him telling everyone she was putting him in debt. She planning a party, him planning his escape. She stole and used his $ to finance. It was all bought with his $, fraudulent credit lines based on his business. Everything she owned herself was built off and almost ponzi like scheme, steal from here, use it there, buy what I want in-between.
Yet until he started figuring it all out, he loved her, spoiled her. It takes 2 years for life insurance to mature. She had been planning this for 2 years and several months.
Yes Eric went on his own vacations and such. He worked his arse off for it and supplied her with all the same opportunities.
The reason this case got me so interested to start was the OD. I am an addict, 7 years clean. I have family hooked on fentanyl. I knew he wasn't a strung out addict, she even claimed an accidental overdose. So many lose their lives from opiates, we are losing our children each day, yet u use it to kill a good man that spoiled u rotten for $. It pisses me off.

1:07:06 talking about the maybe accidental overdose: when addicts are in recovery their tolerance for the drug also goes down so it happens a lot that relapsing addicts use the same amount of drugs they where used to before recovery, so a lot of them accidentally overdose like that.

1:06:47 the accidental OD thing… usually ppl OD during a relapse. They have been clean and relapse, try to do the same amount they did before they got clean, and it’s too much. This woman was in active addiction. It was her prescription, not something off the street that could be mixed with something deadly. That’s why they say it didn’t make sense for it to be an accidental OD.

Kouri is gross...but her husband was pretty awful too.
There is a reason they "got on" so well.
He used undocumented workers...so that he could underpay them horribly, because they would have trouble getting legal help to get their pay.
But he underpaid them SO badly, including refusing to pay them for all the overtime they were doing, that they did end up taking him to court.
ALL of his "success" was based upon his disgusting treatment of the hard working, undocumented men, who were sending their earnings to their families back home.
Kevin, was a materialistic, law breaking, parasitic creep.
And look what he did "for fun" in huge amounts of spare time (because he never did physical labour himself)...he killed things.
All he enjoyed doing was: Killing animals, large or small.
Not for food. Not for survival. Just to kill beautiful, innocent living creatures.
Then there's the whole pre nup.
He was such a creep he didn't even give the pre nup to Kouri himself. He had his mother do it. And on the day of the wedding.....That is SO slimy.
I think he and his mother sewed the seeds of his murder by doing that.
Why would Kouri EVER forgive that stunt?
Also, that pre nup was an acknowledgement that he knew she was only marrying him for his money, and he was okay with that....because grasping materialism was the core of his character as well.
And THAT is why they were a couple. They looked into each other's eyes, and saw the same greedy, using, malevolent characters, that thought it was fine to treat other people really horribly, provided THEY made some cash for themselves.
It isn't right he was murdered. His parents and sisters miss him. But there's no need to pretend he was some saintly figure.
He was a lousy Mormon and lousy person. Stealing from your poor employees while you go on numerous foreign holidays is truly disgusting.

thanks for pointing these out, no children deserve to lose a parent especially in such a way that now their mother is in prison too. but i always find myself thinking about this while watching true crime: it is so easy to be sympathetic towards a dead person because they are the victim in the most fitting and tragic sense of the word, but would we be as sympathetic and kind towards them if they were living people? i think the facts you point out need not to be forgotten just because he was killed tragically. both seem like very materialistic people and also his family

@@turkuozturk7092almost nothing the OP has posted is fact. Don't believe everything you read. It is obviously a friend or family member or supporter of Kouri.
I have followed this case since it started. It isn't too far across the border from me.
Eric did physical labor. He worked his arse off for years to get where he did to start his company. That is all a bunch of crap. It has been investigated. No proof of all those lies.
Then yes he hunted. Some people do, some don't. Kouri ate the game he hunted, the family hunted together. He was teaching his boys. Yes he also trophy hunted, went to Mexico and other countries with HIS hard earned $. Not hers. There is no reason to being up his LEGAL hobbies. Him being a hunter has nothing to do with this case.
The prenup was made due to not only what happened with his first wife, but Kouri was a home Depot cashier when they met and didn't have shat before Eric. The prenup was planned between Eric and Kouri. His mother did present it for signing to her. She was the witness. A prenup has to have a witness. It was not a surprise! She knew her mother in law was the witness and presenting it. Also by tradition the bride and groom cannot see each other the day of the ceremony. So first the mother presented it to Eric in his dressing room, then to Kouri in hers. Nothing fishy about it!
The above poster is just trolling and trying to stir crap. It has been stated by people who knew the couple that once she was accused then arrested, she has been asking people to Google her, search her on all platforms, and bad talk Eric and lift her so that people won't look at her so bad.
Like I said don't believe everything u read.

Just a tidbit of information. Eric and his business partner each got $2 million dollar life insurance policy on each other. The goal was in the event one or the other passed way, the company wouldn’t go under. Kouri figured out how to access the online portal and changed the beneficiary to herself. The insurance company notified Eric and his business partner about the change & he went in and changed it back. I believe there were between 4-6 other life insurance policies he didn’t know about. I’m not positive, but I think some of those other policies paid out before she was arrested.
